Whether you're the President, an award-winning scientist, or just a spiteful troll, you can create a Twitter account and go from one thread to another, explaining to other users why they're stupid. However, if you're actually doing it, that's precisely what you need to keep in mind. It's just a matter of time before you run into someone who can call out your BS. And when that happens, you're going to end up on the subreddit r/DontYouKnowWhoIam. Like the name suggests, this online community is dedicated to those spicy moments when people were oblivious to who they were talking to, and has collected quite a lot of them since its inception in 2015. Here are some of the best ones.

Even though there's a line between self- and over-confidence, trusting in your judgment can help you become successful in life.
Both verbal and nonverbal communication can be extremely effective at garnering positive attention and influence in groups. According to one hypothesis (the presumption of calibration hypothesis), people generally assume others have the self-knowledge to know how confident they should be, and we also assume they will truthfully communicate this confidence to us (the so-called truth bias), unless extenuating circumstances suggest otherwise.

Anyone else so sick of the vaccine argument? Should mention I'm not anti-vax. Have had covid twice myself. Edit: Was asked how I had it twice. First time I likely caught it in a post office. Only place I'd been for weeks as most of the country was shut. Second time my partner tested positive and then I did.

Especially US americans often think that all north african, middle eastern and south european/american people aren't white. Whilst in reality most are. The thing is, that racism against a different colour is easy to understand for them, but racism that's against another culture of the same colour isn't. It's easy to say "all whites are bad and all PoC a victims" but that's simply pathetically wrong.

I have personal experience with this. My daughter is half Indigenous (Native American) Her father is full Cheyenne and Kiowa/Kickapoo (Federally enrolled Kiowa). She has been called every racist name possible starting in kindergarten. Especially the N word. When she tells kids she is Native American, they laugh and say no you're not because "indians" live in tipi's and wear beaded leather and feathers, or some kids have told her that "indians" were all killed hundreds of years ago, or that they are all drunks. She's had kids yell woo woo woo clapping their hand on their mouth, ask her if she smokes weed in her peace pipe, or calls her squaw, which is a derogatory name. She's also been called a "dot head" indian. When she was in first grade she walked out from school wearing a paper pilgrim hat. My heart sank. She said mommy I told my teacher that I'm Native American but she said only the boys were allowed be be the "indians". Blatant racism does exist for other ethnicities.

I could elaborate much more but i ran out of space on my post. Im new here so I didnt realize I can reply to my own post. My apologies. To continue my post above, that class day was spent with the "indian" boys wearing paper headdresses chasing the "pilgrim" girls around pretending to kill them. My daughter is now almost 16 and in high school, and I have spent 11 years (she went to pre-k before kindergarten) defending my daughter at the public school system, where none of the school officials have ever done a d@mn thing about the racist bullying. You don't realize how racist people are until someone you love has to deal with it every day of their life. My daughter is beautiful and smart and I'm so proud of her. She now suffers with depression, anxiety, and low self esteem due to the years of persistant racist bullying. I love her so much and will always defend her. ❤

I've noticed a sad trend in some communities that insist on the complete ethnic/racial Africanization of Africa, but the issue with that is that there has been ethnic blending in the north/east parts of Africa for literally millennia, and that results in brown and white people being every bit as African as black people.

I think the point is that at that time Egyptians were darker in skin and resembled most other African countries. The Egyptian you see today is not how they would have looked. A simple way to understand it would be if you watched a movie set in the 19th century and the clothes were from the 21st century. You would call it out as being historically inaccurate.

Why would it fn matter? People don't mind changing the race of a Caucasian character (instead of creating new characters), but if you put a Caucasian in a setting where people think it should only be one other race, they lose their fn minds. It's the same bigotry just from another angle. Stop the hate from EVERY side, not just one. And that includes race, gender, sexual orientation, etc etc.

My mother in law's doctors, dentist etc know everything, as soon as I tell her anything my health visitor or midwife has said on their visits "What do they know", "we never did that, they're wrong" ..."babies don't change so caring for them doesn't" etc etc ..we've actually come to blows over this when she said I should be giving my son a bottle when he's exclusively breast fed..I couldn't breast feed my Daughter so I'm thrilled my Son takes to it but she was constantly battling to get him on the bottle for no reason other than to have her own way -.-

I once did wrote an article on alternative (fun) ways to teach math to small children. That was not the official name ofcourse i wrote the article in dutch. I found it a year later on someones desk on a different job. That person was alway mocking me for being 'just' an intern and treated like i was dumb. Started telling me about the article but that i wouldnt understand cause the sources used we too 'deep and scientific for me to understand'. Told her i wrote it. My sweet mom was having her roof replaced on a brutally hot day. She had cold drinks in her frig for when the workers were on break. One was sitting in her kitchen and told her that he was working "off the books", and nothing was being reported for tax purposes. My literature teacher for 4th grade never called on me to answer questions. I was confused because I was the most advanced reader in that class. I talked to her after class one day, asking why she never called on me. She said “Sorry kiddo, but I think you would just confuse the other kids with how you pronounce words.” This was because I had a lisp back then and pronounced every word that had double o’s or just one o with an r.

I used to work at an airport, manager for the company that handled the restaurants. One Saturday my assistant manager and myself were inventory counting a Caribou Coffee and this sill looking skinny white guy walks up. Unpopular opinion I'm sure, but my goodness I am so sick of hearing about covid arguments. We get it. People will never agree on something that shouldnt have anyone arguing in the first place and everyone wants to be the big dog on top and show somebody else up. Great. Cool. People suck, pets are life. Can we move on now?

My friend had a good one like this. They (my friend's pronoun) was arbitrarily labelled as a 'white male' at birth, and they was trying to go to an event once, and the organizer said at the entrance: 'Sorry, this is only for black women.' So they replies: 'I IDENTIFY as a black woman!' You should have seen how surprised the organizer looked!

My mother in law's doctors, dentist etc know everything, as soon as I tell her anything my health visitor or midwife has said on their visits "What do they know", "we never did that, they're wrong" ..."babies don't change so caring for them doesn't" etc etc ..we've actually come to blows over this when she said I should be giving my son a bottle when he's exclusively breast fed..I couldn't breast feed my Daughter so I'm thrilled my Son takes to it but she was constantly battling to get him on the bottle for no reason other than to have her own way -.-

I was talking to a friend, and they mentioned that their niece was just diagnosed with diabetes. I said "Oh no! Tell her that it's okay, she can do it." This has happened many times for me. Especially with my aunt's boyfriends. She tells them I know a lot about history, so they quiz me to see if that is true. Not only do I know a lot about his, I have a bachelor's degree in history. So, yeah, I know what I am talking about.

Ah people judging someone before getting all the facts. I've lived with this all my life. Despite having 20 years under my belt doing what I do, often people that don't know me can get pretty snarky. Not shaving for a week helped as I pass the 40 mark. Prior to that, it was pretty frustrating.

I once did wrote an article on alternative (fun) ways to teach math to small children. That was not the official name ofcourse i wrote the article in dutch. I found it a year later on someones desk on a different job. That person was alway mocking me for being 'just' an intern and treated like i was dumb. Started telling me about the article but that i wouldnt understand cause the sources used we too 'deep and scientific for me to understand'. Told her i wrote it. She called me a liar and said a university published it. I was a student there and yes i did write it.

My sweet mom was having her roof replaced on a brutally hot day. She had cold drinks in her frig for when the workers were on break. One was sitting in her kitchen and told her that he was working "off the books", and nothing was being reported for tax purposes. My literature teacher for 4th grade never called on me to answer questions. I was confused because I was the most advanced reader in that class. I talked to her after class one day, asking why she never called on me. She said “Sorry kiddo, but I think you would just confuse the other kids with how you pronounce words.” This was because I had a lisp back then and pronounced every word that had double o’s or just one o with an r.
