40 Times People Were Stupid Enough To Do Something Inappropriate That Their Bosses Just Had To Fire Them
While in these uncertain times, many employees hold onto their workplaces tighter than ever, others are somewhat more relaxed. And if you ask me whether it’s possible to loosen up a little too much when it comes to your job, the answer is yes.
For many unknown, illogical and often plain dumb reasons, some employees have earned themselves a solid “you’re fired!” badge. In fact, there’s a whole corner of Reddit with a cheeky name “Bye, Bye Job” that’s dedicated to sharing “images or stories of people losing their job, a scholarship/admission, or another kind of opportunity due to their actions online or in person.”
Below we selected some of the most amusing, insane, and crazy examples that could easily compete in a sprint of losing your job the fastest way possible. Scroll down and after you’re done, be sure to check out our previous post with the funniest “you had one job” fails.

Lab Intern Demands To Work Maskless And Not Only Gets Fired, But Risks Her Entire Future Career
An Oldie But A Goodie
This Is A New One For Me
It’s fair to say that most of these career faux pas shared in this post are somewhat on the extreme side. From extremely rude messages to inappropriate comments shared out in public, these behaviors are the straight way to getting fired, and there’s little doubt about that. At least they don’t happen that often and when they do, they end up stirring things up quite a bit in forums and online threads.
But there are so many more less extreme and more standard ways to fail at work. From letting your team down to screwing things up on a deadline, even the best worker wasn’t born immune to failure. But for many devoted workers, such experiences may end up ruining their self-esteem and professional motivation. So how to lift yourself up when things went down the drain at work?

The Woman Who Laughed Has Been Fired
To find out, we spoke with Sarah Jones, a career and leadership coach with over 7 years’ experience as a top executive leadership and career coach and a 30-year career at board level. Sarah assured us that there’s no such thing as failure, unless you fail to learn from your experiences. The career coach reminded us that there will always be challenges at work. “I firmly believe that when we are sitting too comfortably, we don’t push our goals forward—we don’t really grow or develop. So I believe that failure is instrumental to our growth.”
Big Brain Move. Man Wears Work Badge To Insurrection
Just read that the "shaman" with the horns is convicted to 41 months prison. Let's hope all the idiots get similar convictions.
Update
This isn't just "fireable" it is very much illegal - every state has at least some laws against electioneering and I can't imagine any don't forbid this.
He Seems Like A Nice Guy
Sarah recounted “starting work with a new manager with a very different, introvert style. I thought I’d never last with him, but in fact—he got me to slow down and become a little more focused on the details. Also, when I was made redundant, I didn’t take it personally—my attitude was ‘yes, a clear sign to become self-employed’—and I’ve never looked back. So look at what did I learn, what would I do differently—this isn’t about blame, but about personal reflection.”

Bye Bye Job In Four Acts
The yellow star. The thing that Jews had to wear during the f*****g holocaust and you put one on and you go around wearing it proudly. F**k you i hope you burn in hell
This is wrong on so many levels, but I want to write only about one: Jews couldn't get vaccination to be free and alive. It wasn't their choice. And you are "segregated" only because you wish to.
Didn't intend to trivialize the Star of David when they... created a Star of David for something non-religious? What did they *think* they were doing?
As a wise man from Pennsylvania said... "WHAT WERE THEY THINKING!?"
Load More Replies...Next up, this woman equates being singled out for being an asshat to lynching, complete with noose stickers to wear on your shirt or hat.
Yeah... The folks who were forced to wear those honored stars of David, ( honored now, but not then) were not given a choice as to ANYTHING! Idk how many of you on here have actually met someone who survived the Holocaust, but this woman and her antivax is so far over any kind of any decency..I have no words. I've had an older friend thirty five years ago, who was the father of a friend of mine, and they had their children later, because, you know, reasons. I saw his tattoo. It rattled me to the core to see this number tattooed on what had been a 12 year old arm. He was saved because his hands were small enough to make children's shoes. That's all that saved his life. Small hands. Lost his entire family, went through absolute hell on earth, and even if he was the only one, this wouldn't be an ok thing for this woman to do. But multiply that by six and a half million people at least. Argh.
I am so sorry. I hope they're they're okay in Heaven.
Load More Replies...$5??? There are so many things you can buy with $5. Chisel, for example. For lobotomy
No, no. Lobotomies required an ice pick and a mallet.

"I apologize for any insensitivity." No, that is a blatant lie. I bet $7 and a candy bar that she'd do something like that again in a heartbeat
"In every awy did I intend to pretend I'm being subjected to starvation, typhus, and, oh yeah, gas chambers". ---- There. Fixed it. Now she's not lying anymore! :-)
Look, I am a person who never gets the point. Just because people say something, doesn't always mean what you think. That being said, what the hell are these people doing wearing a freaking star of david for this and not see the problem. That's like holding a gun and saying "oh I'm sorry, I didn't know that looked aggressive to you"... Never have I eber bern or seen something so stupid
Her-"buy these insensitive patches for $5!" Also her-"My intent was not to exploit or make profit"
she and everyone who compares the vaccine mandate to the Holocausts is a demon and they deserve all the backlash they get
Hey truth monster, you completely missed the point. First of all I think everybody knows the store of David what you call the Jewish star, is much older than the Holocaust of course! And the fact that you completely choose not to address the absolute disgusting behavior by people who would dare compare the situation they put themselves in by choosing not to take a vaccination shot to protect himself and others to that of the plight of hundreds of thousands who were rounded up and slaughtered, literally slaughtered, shows what an absolute piece of s**t you are! Why is it people like you always use this word truth monster or dropping truth bombs truth this truth that is the absolute opposite of what you are you are spreading lies and deceit and you should shut your fkng mouth!

For any insensitivity...? The whole idea of using the Star of David as a method of showing her views was utterly insensitive, how she thought it was a still a good idea to still go ahead with it makes me question her thought process and levels of empathy for Holocaust survivors.
How is it that people like her only "get it" when their income stream is threatened? Please, everyone, stop for more than a second to take a deep breath and really think about what you're about to do - BEFORE YOU DO IT!

Aside from the people determined to believe that this woman is trivialising the experiences of those who lived through that horrible time, this woman is not wrong about the life effects of having to show immunization papers every where you go. Especially the effects on those who are medically unable to take this ineffective and unproven vaccination.
Oh. I thought that they were asking to be put away in a safe camp where they would HAVE to wear masks. And not only that, but get FREE cremation when they die :-)
I don't like you, very much, I don't like you. If I was your friend I would unfriend you. Heartless, uncaring, lacking in knowledge, uncompashionate human........................ I suppose.
I can't understand why anyone can compare taking vaccinations (as children had for polio) to hearing and seeing screaming and bloody humans being dragged to their deaths.
Why all the down votes? This bitch totally deserves being ostracized. .
It was not only Stetson that pulled their products but about 15 other hat companies also pulled their their products and support!! I checked her website yesterday and it seems that now she just sells overpriced hats that she designs!! She suffered big time!! Very nice to see that karma does work with stupid & evil people!!
Wrong symbol hatwreck. You're not the victim here, you're the deathdealer. -and yes, I wish they would isolate all you smug 'anti-anti's 'til we can catch our breath. Here, I've designed a new patch for you; You sitting on a pile of coffins and it reads " I'm so much more important than you"
Maybe some states are different, but aside from the airport I haven’t been asked for my vaccination card yet.
Indeed, refusing to get vaccinated is EXACTLY like being first discriminated against for how you were born, then losing your jobs, only to eventually being herded in cattle cars, taken to a concentration camp and either put to work until death, or getting gassed and incinerated. No wonder they get confused. We, as a society, have failed these people. We taught them fairy tales in History class, we let the media retell scientific studies in pop magazines so they end up saying the opposite of what the study was about, and we wonder why they are so easily influenced by self interested bad actors.
"not to exploit or make a profit" - I guess she was netting anything off the $5 patches she was hawking.... SMH
I wish all of these people would have to watch a documentary or talk to an actual Holocaust survivor. To think that this situation is any way comparable to the horrific atrocities committed by Nazi Germany is delusional to the point of sociopathy. I can't read about the Holocaust without choking up, and these people are posting pictures of themselves wearing icons like that and smiling. It's sickening.
Get vaccinated; dont get vaccinated... you have a choice. You have a choice. What choice did the victims of the holocaust have? None!!!! This is infuriating and a mockery! These people are disgusting!!! 🤬🤬🤬🤬
Too late hatwrksnashville, too late. The damage has been done and now you get to use the remaining time realizing your stunt will only be accepted by a small amount of dying idiots
The Holocaust was a genocide. The more appropriate analogy would be Palestine (but with more violence)
I don't care that this is almost certainly going to get downvoted, I'm saying it anyway. There are far worse viruses than covid. There are vaccines for those viruses that stop contraction and transmission in all but a tiny handful of cases. These vaccines are not mandatory. These vaccines do not come with a passport to let you go out in the world. Covid jabs are barely effective and still officially in the testing stage, but people who don't have it are being treated like second class citizens. This is not right, but the companies are making BIG money so doing their best to quash complaints through ridicule.
Of course there are worse viruses. Ebola for example. However there is no current vaccine for Ebola. And the flu vaccine is not specific enough to warrant a mandate. It is only a scientific guess as to what strain will be the predominant strain causing issues that season. Covid is different. And it hasn’t mutated enough to where they can’t cover it in the vaccine. The vaccine is not a cure. It keeps the sick at a manageable level (out of the ICU) and helps get us to herd immunity. And it is not in the testing stage. This type of vaccine has been studied since SARS.And how long are people going to wait before they deem it “safe” enough to take? Years? When the original vaccines were being used did people freak out, or welcome the chance to end small pox, polio, etc?

Load More Replies...Maybe you are in the wrong job, wrong company and you’ve been putting off leaving so things are not going too well, Sarah argues. “Perhaps you made a mistake—own up, apologize if you need to, and clearly communicate what you will do differently next time. Reframe it in your mind, don’t tell yourself you are a failure—say to yourself, I’ve had a setback and I’m moving forward, I can learn from this—something more positive,” she said.

Even though failures at work are particularly painful and hard to heal from, they happen more often than we’d think. Nearly every client that Sarah talks to is going through a challenge and they always learn. “That’s part of my role—to help them to understand any repeating patterns or behaviors that may be holding them back,” she said.
“When we fail, and learn and acquire new skills, or grow from it, we develop a steeliness,” Sarah said and added that it’s “a resilience so sometimes the more challenges we have, the more we can overcome situations that would ‘floor’ some people.” According to her, many extremely successful people had several attempts at what they were trying to achieve before they got there.

The absolute irony of the right trying to claim victimhood all the while being the bully is astounding. What they need to understand is 1) your right to be a racist doesn't make you immune to the consequences of being a racist. People are smarter now. That crap that your skin color makes you somehow better doesn't fly anymore with most people 2) Your ill-advised choice to not get vaccinated makes you a threat to those around you. You are literally killing innocent people which makes you, at best, the equivalent of a nazi sympathizer. You don't get a pass just because you're ignorant. 3) That thing you think you are standing up for is something that hurts others. So when people say do what like so long as it doesn't hurt others, maybe you get it now. So please shut up

I disagree with many of these people's views and opinions. But I am really not sure that having offensive opinions is a legitimate reason for someone to lose their job. I mean, it's one thing if you refuse to follow company policies, like refusing to wear a mask at a job where everyone is required to do it. But in many of these cases it seems like the person was doing fine on the job, yet something they said or did outside of work got them fired? That doesn't seem right to me. In the US, we are supposed to have certain protected freedoms. Like free speech, free association and assembly, freedom of belief, etc. Even the freedom to be stupid, stubborn, offensive, or just plain wrong. As long as you are not doing bodily harm to others or destroying property should your unpopular viewpoint be a cause for job termination? Especially in the cases where people are not even expressing their views at or during work, in some unrelated venue or in private.
I can understand that. Freedom of Speech is a big right and should always be protected. And I understand that it seems off because it feels like people are being fired for something they didn't do at work. But there is other parties than the extreme view people. These folks don't work alone. So consider working with someone that finds whatever race/sexual orientation/etc that you happen to be inferior. Their views, whether loud and proud or quietly held, are harmful to at least some other people and, by nature, impede another's freedoms (including both freedom of and from speech). People don't treat that which they find to be inferior fairly. The extremist feels justified in oppression. So the business is acting to prevent that kind of behavior both towards its employees and its customers. And, TBH, the business can be sued for the behavior of these people. Truthfully it is likely for that reason, and fear of their reputation being damaged, is why these people get fired.

This is an honest question if the hpv vaccine can prevent cancer why isn't that mandated?
"Cancer" is a blanket term for several diseases caused by problematic cell growth, which can stem from anything from sunshine to scar tissue. The vaccine that you're talking about protects against a virus that can cause cancer, not cancer itself. Also, cancer isn't contagious.
Load More Replies...There is a difference between being anti-vax generally and being hesitant to get the covid19 vaccine. One point that is rarely addressed is that getting the Covid vaccine does not prevent one from getting Covid or transmitting it. I think labelling people who are hesitant as anti-vax or anti-science is not helpful in the least. This hesitancy is not helped by the fact that previous vaccination campaigns in recent history have resulted in disastrous, life-changing side effects for people. I can see both sides to the current debate and would encourage people to read even a little bit about the swine flu vaccine side effects (and lawsuits) from the 2009 swine flu vaccination prog. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2019/nov/20/swine-flu-vaccine-case-settled-but-hopes-for-legal-precedent-dashed
Key point to note is how quickly, within a few months, the supposed symptoms came on. The covid 19 vaccines have been an established programme for nearly a year with large number clinical trials proceeding that by many months. They used knowledge from 2002 & 2012 SARS & MERS research and built on that. Several billion people with the vaccine in them, healthy & well. It does prevent you getting covid by a significant percentage, but not 100% so also helps reduce transmission. Not a guarantee but don't dismiss it. The most significant benefit is that it does prevent hospitalisation & reduces risk of death. The risks from covid far outweigh the tiny risks from the vaccine. Some people are scared and so seek information to support their reasons not to have the vaccine. It is self defeating. Better to seek reasons why they should. Challenge your own views and gain more rounded knowledge.
