40 Times People Were Stupid Enough To Do Something Inappropriate That Their Bosses Just Had To Fire Them
While in these uncertain times, many employees hold onto their workplaces tighter than ever, others are somewhat more relaxed. And if you ask me whether it’s possible to loosen up a little too much when it comes to your job, the answer is yes.
For many unknown, illogical and often plain dumb reasons, some employees have earned themselves a solid “you’re fired!” badge. In fact, there’s a whole corner of Reddit with a cheeky name “Bye, Bye Job” that’s dedicated to sharing “images or stories of people losing their job, a scholarship/admission, or another kind of opportunity due to their actions online or in person.”
Below we selected some of the most amusing, insane, and crazy examples that could easily compete in a sprint of losing your job the fastest way possible. Scroll down and after you’re done, be sure to check out our previous post with the funniest “you had one job” fails.

An Oldie But A Goodie
This Is A New One For Me
It’s fair to say that most of these career faux pas shared in this post are somewhat on the extreme side. From extremely rude messages to inappropriate comments shared out in public, these behaviors are the straight way to getting fired, and there’s little doubt about that. At least they don’t happen that often and when they do, they end up stirring things up quite a bit in forums and online threads.
But there are so many more less extreme and more standard ways to fail at work. From letting your team down to screwing things up on a deadline, even the best worker wasn’t born immune to failure. But for many devoted workers, such experiences may end up ruining their self-esteem and professional motivation. So how to lift yourself up when things went down the drain at work?

The Woman Who Laughed Has Been Fired
To find out, we spoke with Sarah Jones, a career and leadership coach with over 7 years’ experience as a top executive leadership and career coach and a 30-year career at board level. Sarah assured us that there’s no such thing as failure, unless you fail to learn from your experiences. The career coach reminded us that there will always be challenges at work. “I firmly believe that when we are sitting too comfortably, we don’t push our goals forward—we don’t really grow or develop. So I believe that failure is instrumental to our growth.”

This isn't just "fireable" it is very much illegal - every state has at least some laws against electioneering and I can't imagine any don't forbid this.
He Seems Like A Nice Guy
Sarah recounted “starting work with a new manager with a very different, introvert style. I thought I’d never last with him, but in fact—he got me to slow down and become a little more focused on the details. Also, when I was made redundant, I didn’t take it personally—my attitude was ‘yes, a clear sign to become self-employed’—and I’ve never looked back. So look at what did I learn, what would I do differently—this isn’t about blame, but about personal reflection.”

Bye Bye Job In Four Acts
Maybe you are in the wrong job, wrong company and you’ve been putting off leaving so things are not going too well, Sarah argues. “Perhaps you made a mistake—own up, apologize if you need to, and clearly communicate what you will do differently next time. Reframe it in your mind, don’t tell yourself you are a failure—say to yourself, I’ve had a setback and I’m moving forward, I can learn from this—something more positive,” she said.

Even though failures at work are particularly painful and hard to heal from, they happen more often than we’d think. Nearly every client that Sarah talks to is going through a challenge and they always learn. “That’s part of my role—to help them to understand any repeating patterns or behaviors that may be holding them back,” she said.
“When we fail, and learn and acquire new skills, or grow from it, we develop a steeliness,” Sarah said and added that it’s “a resilience so sometimes the more challenges we have, the more we can overcome situations that would ‘floor’ some people.” According to her, many extremely successful people had several attempts at what they were trying to achieve before they got there.

Second, in answer to "..can someone please help me understand?" - probably not, since there are way too many layers of hate, bigotry, and entitlement to remove before we could get to any part of your brain that used to possess a handful of working cells.

Not only that but if you check out the flag behind her the amount of stars on it add up to 54!! We only have 50 states in the US so what are the other 4 stars for?? Guess they have problems with counting as well?!

Karma!! Now she has to experience what other people actually go through when they are not “entitled “ and given a job because of their mommy & daddy connections!!

I'm sure all of the Bills in her life will be really bummed to miss payments from her.
Spare us your literal white supremacist tears, "American race" is *exactly* a lyric in the "American Dad" theme song, you deserve to lose your job and your boss doesn't have to be "extremely left" to do it (remember when it wasn't "political" to HATE NAZIS?!), you can't spell for s**t and karma's like you, a bitch.
So that's supposed to be the "master race"?! Guess we are genetically doomed then.
Well, let's see. Sheep are typically white... But seriously... WTF is "white people stuff"??? Also, you have a Bachelor of Science? I call BS on the BS. Anyone with a BS could spell and form better sentence structure than that. This woman is just a loser all around.
You can "think" people of other races are inferior to your race; that's your right ... if you publicize that "thought" every business has the right not to hire you. You might want to do some internal retrospection on why you "think" that way and work on pulling yourself into the 21st century where that "thought" is an abomination (and basically just frickin' wrong).

She had so many misspelled words, maybe she should back to 2nd & 3rd grade and learn how to spell. "SHOO ED"; "cary"; "i" (several times); "dont" (no apostrophe) instead of "doesn't"; she was "doxed" instead of "doxxed"; "didnt" (no apostrophe); as an AMERICAN she believes she should get an honest day's pay for an honest day's work. Sorry, honey, people all around the world believe they should receive an honest day's pay - but don't. "Brain washed" instead of "brainwashed" and that's only halfway through her rant. What made me LOL was her "doing white people stuff." ROFL! What in the hell is that? I'm white and I've never heard of that. Maybe I should get more often. LOL! At least she admitted - or at least didn't deny - to being a white supremacist. I guess the only way she's ever going to understand is to look at herself in the mirror and reflect upon all she's said and done. My guess it will fall on deaf ears and a closed mind.
*thier? Multiple random capital letters, serious lack of proper punctuation and/or grammar. BUT a degree in Biology? M'kay.
First off, how was she able to get even a BA degree? Her grammar, spelling, punctuation, sentence structure, etc.make this diatribe nearly incomprehensible. Secondly, she now has a small taste of how none white people in the U.S. feel when they are seeking employment.

She said she was visiting friends doing "white people stuff". What does that mean? I don't believe she has a B.S. in anything but bullsh*t.
I notice she never actually denies being a white supremacist. Also can someone tell me what that flag with all the extra stars is? (I'm assuming something not nice)

What's the world coming to when NAZIs like me cannot display Nazi symbols all over the place without losing a job? The lack of self-awareness is astounding. Maybe she was actually Shoeed out the door. Another misspelling, lol.

The absolute irony of the right trying to claim victimhood all the while being the bully is astounding. What they need to understand is 1) your right to be a racist doesn't make you immune to the consequences of being a racist. People are smarter now. That crap that your skin color makes you somehow better doesn't fly anymore with most people 2) Your ill-advised choice to not get vaccinated makes you a threat to those around you. You are literally killing innocent people which makes you, at best, the equivalent of a nazi sympathizer. You don't get a pass just because you're ignorant. 3) That thing you think you are standing up for is something that hurts others. So when people say do what like so long as it doesn't hurt others, maybe you get it now. So please shut up

I disagree with many of these people's views and opinions. But I am really not sure that having offensive opinions is a legitimate reason for someone to lose their job. I mean, it's one thing if you refuse to follow company policies, like refusing to wear a mask at a job where everyone is required to do it. But in many of these cases it seems like the person was doing fine on the job, yet something they said or did outside of work got them fired? That doesn't seem right to me. In the US, we are supposed to have certain protected freedoms. Like free speech, free association and assembly, freedom of belief, etc. Even the freedom to be stupid, stubborn, offensive, or just plain wrong. As long as you are not doing bodily harm to others or destroying property should your unpopular viewpoint be a cause for job termination? Especially in the cases where people are not even expressing their views at or during work, in some unrelated venue or in private.
I can understand that. Freedom of Speech is a big right and should always be protected. And I understand that it seems off because it feels like people are being fired for something they didn't do at work. But there is other parties than the extreme view people. These folks don't work alone. So consider working with someone that finds whatever race/sexual orientation/etc that you happen to be inferior. Their views, whether loud and proud or quietly held, are harmful to at least some other people and, by nature, impede another's freedoms (including both freedom of and from speech). People don't treat that which they find to be inferior fairly. The extremist feels justified in oppression. So the business is acting to prevent that kind of behavior both towards its employees and its customers. And, TBH, the business can be sued for the behavior of these people. Truthfully it is likely for that reason, and fear of their reputation being damaged, is why these people get fired.

This is an honest question if the hpv vaccine can prevent cancer why isn't that mandated?
"Cancer" is a blanket term for several diseases caused by problematic cell growth, which can stem from anything from sunshine to scar tissue. The vaccine that you're talking about protects against a virus that can cause cancer, not cancer itself. Also, cancer isn't contagious.
Load More Replies...There is a difference between being anti-vax generally and being hesitant to get the covid19 vaccine. One point that is rarely addressed is that getting the Covid vaccine does not prevent one from getting Covid or transmitting it. I think labelling people who are hesitant as anti-vax or anti-science is not helpful in the least. This hesitancy is not helped by the fact that previous vaccination campaigns in recent history have resulted in disastrous, life-changing side effects for people. I can see both sides to the current debate and would encourage people to read even a little bit about the swine flu vaccine side effects (and lawsuits) from the 2009 swine flu vaccination prog. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2019/nov/20/swine-flu-vaccine-case-settled-but-hopes-for-legal-precedent-dashed
Key point to note is how quickly, within a few months, the supposed symptoms came on. The covid 19 vaccines have been an established programme for nearly a year with large number clinical trials proceeding that by many months. They used knowledge from 2002 & 2012 SARS & MERS research and built on that. Several billion people with the vaccine in them, healthy & well. It does prevent you getting covid by a significant percentage, but not 100% so also helps reduce transmission. Not a guarantee but don't dismiss it. The most significant benefit is that it does prevent hospitalisation & reduces risk of death. The risks from covid far outweigh the tiny risks from the vaccine. Some people are scared and so seek information to support their reasons not to have the vaccine. It is self defeating. Better to seek reasons why they should. Challenge your own views and gain more rounded knowledge.
