This Artist Draws Comics About A Little Penguin Who Fails At Basic Life Tasks, Except Being Super Cute (30 Pics)
Penguins aren't as common as, say, pigeons, and that's a huge problem. These flightless birds are so adorable, just looking at them can brighten even the darkest of days. However, there are more ways to charge ourselves up with their good vibes than simply meeting cute penguins at the zoo.
Like checking out the animal comics by Sheba, a self-taught Japanese artist who simply adores penguins. Her wholesome strips perfectly reflect their cute nature. From dealing with rainy weather to getting into shape, Sheba's characters don't let their everyday problems ruin their mood, and that's something we can all learn from them. I'll be honest, I still can't do rope jumping. And there goes one more of those "things normal people can do that I can't". And I'm not proud of it.
Same! Along with splits, touching toes, catching a ball, kicking a ball, throwing a ball, painting without getting paint all over clothing, doing anything without getting it on clothing, etc, etc.

Except for Sheba's imagination, penguins live almost exclusively below the equator. You can find some island-dwellers in warmer climates, but most—including the famous Emperor, Adélie, Chinstrap, and Gentoo penguins—chill in and around Antarctica. Their thick layer of blubber and tightly-packed, oily feathers allow them to withstand even very cold temperatures.
"I don't remember how I fell in love with birds, but I was already a huge bird lover when I was in my teenage years," Sheba told Bored Panda. "The reason why I mostly choose penguins for my funny comics is that they are easier to comicalize than other birds. And the emperor's chicks are one of the cutest creatures on Earth!"
The artist said the ideas for these cute comics come from little everyday situations and funny problems. "I get my inspirations from my ordinary life, which is no different from those of people I see on the streets. My drawings express my love for people as much as for penguins."
I have a noticeable (if I don’t blow dry it down) and oddly placed cowlick right at the top part of the back of my head. It has been the bane of my existence my whole life.
Don't worry, sweet little penguin. You aren't alone here.
This is me!!! Elementary school was difficult. "Why can't you do it?" "idk I just can't" "you just move like this" *tries it & comic happens* "see?"
i LOVE how when the hula hoop dropped, the penguin just stared down at it, so true, LOL, super cute! 🐧
Yep, thats me as i lay flat on the ground going..i could go for some chocolate, ya.ill get up and eat some chocolate and try this again next year 😁
I hated having to do this in PE class too. To be completely accurate, not being the team sport type, I hated PE class. Period.
i also completely dreaded PE, except in my senior year with a cool coach who made everything easy but still useful for all of us
Load More Replies...Reminds me of when Hobbes asked Calvin why he always wore shorts. (In the comic; not the OG John Calvin and the OG Thomas Hobbes, lol!)
Or one huge tear and the contents fall on the floor :D
Load More Replies...Tiny scissors should be included with every plastic-wrapped food item.
I hate this kind of faucet. I mean, I know why public bathrooms install them. Doesn’t mean I can’t curse them.
I swear, those damned sensors will NOT recognize that I'm there. It's like I'm not something their infrared, or motion sensor, or whatever the f**k it uses to register that it's supposed to dispense water just doesn't see me as something with HANDS. Dammit, I guess I'm just not human, or something. LOL
Aww! If that isn't the best reason for a selfie, nothing is!
Load More Replies...i can relate :D have to left feet, so never learned to skate or ski properly, but butt sliding always works :)
I was in a play once and I really can't dance (I actually messed it up when we were performing in front of everyone). I kept making a joke, saying, "I feel like I have three left feet!" Made a couple people laugh an others look at me skeptically.
Load More Replies...since i fell and dragged my friend with me around 30 yrs ago, i quit trying to rollerskate. can still feel it in my "assbones"
I have terrible balance. Dance classes when I was young helped tremendously. But put wheels or blades under my feet, and it’s like all those lessons never happened.
"Janet! why did you take fifty photos of your nose?!?"
Load More Replies...Okay, I have literally done that, and now I feel itchy, like maybe the artist had been following me since I was a child, a billion years ago.
Wait what a whole new penguin?? I got confused when it had a different face lol
This is why when we don't have bags with us (like we had an unplanned stop at a grocery store) we ask for double bags.
My parents trying to teach me to play catch. Needless to say, I hated any sport where an object could come flying at my head.
We taught our son to go upstairs and watch tv during the weekend so we can sleep. I think that deserves parents of the year award.
Short people problems... I understand that penguin..IM SO FRIKEN SHOOIRT🐧🐧🥺🥺💓💓
Alternatively, the penguin could selectively alter the cube's molecular structure in a way that causes it to reflect different wavelengths. Or use paint. Whichever one is more convenient.
Load More Replies...I always had a cold on my birthday, so I wafted the candles out using a place mat
"Look ma a fish mud cake!" "It-its gr-great son.*Retches inwardly*"
That was an adorable little penguin. Would be great to see on stationary products too. I hope you make a brand somehow.
A little flip book on the bottom of the notepad would be cute.
Load More Replies...Oh my, that little penguin is about the sweetest I've ever seen. And his actions! Touches my heart. What a talented artist, thank you so much for these. Funny enough I saw one drawing on pinterest and saved it because I felt so charmed by its perfection, personality and the stroke it is drawn with. Beautiful!
I recently lost my mom . This post has made me have a rare smile at her memory. She absolutely loved penguins, and she also happened to be incredibly sweet and awkward ❤️
This especially touches home for me because penguins are sort of a thing for my SO & I. When we have our first little one I'm already calling them "penguin baby" and the baby shower will be penguin themed. I love this more than I can say. :)
