There are so many layers of awful here that I wanna puke. Parent is basically manipulating their child into breaking the rules just so that they can punish her for breaking the rules. Oh man, this sounds like my step dad on a good day. I have had to work really freakin hard to unlearn what impact this kind of trauma had on me. 33 and still working on it actually, that’s the result of emotional And verbal abuse. Low self worth, belief that the only way to be accepted is to please others, anxiety and PTSD, and the in ability to trust instincts of danger. That impacts everything as an adult, particularly romantic relationships. This author should be ashamed of himself. I hope she grows up and realises how inappropriate this idiots behaviour is and let’s him rot in a nursing home alone somewhere when old and vulnerable. TFW!
