Vanity Fair’s Oscars 2022 After-Party Photos Taken By Mark Seliger (30 Pics)
It has become quite a tradition for Vanity Fair magazine to publish celebrity portraits taken by photographer Mark Seliger right after the Oscars ceremony. After taking a year off, Seliger’s iconic portrait studio is back, where “the film industry’s biggest stars gather to pause, reflect, and pose,” wrote Vanity Fair.
The Oscars, as per usual, have been the talk of the town these days so it’s interesting to see the emotions on celebrities’ faces after the industry’s biggest night of the year. Scroll down to see beautiful portraits of Will Smith, Billie Eilish, and many more.

Lupita Nyong'o
Mark Seliger, born in Amarillo, Texas, used to be Chief Photographer at Rolling Stone, where he shot nearly 200 covers over 10 years. Since then, he has been shooting frequently for Vanity Fair, Italian Vogue, Adidas, Ralph Lauren, and many other magazines and brands.
The talented photographer has received numerous awards for his work, which has been exhibited in museums and galleries around the world.

It’s not a secret that this year’s Oscars ceremony did not leave all the drama for its nominated films. After the event, the internet was having heated discussions about the physical altercation between Will Smith and Chris Rock that took place after the comedian made a joke about Will's wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.

As for this year’s winners, Best Picture went to “CODA”, a 2021 coming-of-age comedy-drama film written and directed by Sian Heder. Will Smith won Best Actor for his role as Richard Williams, while Jessica Chastain took home Best Actress for playing Tammy Faye Bakker. The Best Original Song award went to Billie Eilish and Finneas O'Connell for writing "No Time to Die".

Committed assault, refused to leave the premise, not immediately apologize to Chris Rock in person, and still partied while paraded his award gleefully later that night. I lost all my miniscule respect I ever had on him.
After the assault, he instantly turned his back on the victim and scooted off like a total coward, smiling and giggling to himself on record for the next 50 years. A total drive-by ghetto thug move, then shouted from the crowd like a guttersnipe in a tux. Thought he was bigger than the Academy and the Academy Awards was all about him. All the once-in-a-lifetime award winners didn’t matter. She is Yoko to his John Lennon and she will destroy what’s left of him from the inside out. She needs a puppet goon to “protect” her. So many people quietly suffering and dying from cancer, war, tragic events, domestic abuse and other horrors and this wealthy B falls apart from a hair problem insult from a professional comic (BTW, that’s what comics do for a living… make fun of stuff). When you occupy and get rich from that public space, as in politics or Hollywood, you receive negative attention along with any adulation. Absolute disgusting disgrace.

Generally, I don't care for comedians putting people down in the name of comedy. Just don't find it funny at all. Makes me cringe. What Will Smith did was unforgivable. One classless move took away everyone's joy and made it all about him. And here I am, STILL talking about it! I am happy to have a place to express how utterly disgusted I am with with what Smith did and I hope that the consequences will be severe enough to get his attention.
I wonder if people would still be this calm if it was their loved one (kid, spouse, close sibling) who had an illness that they were very sad about, and that was being joked about. If you realize your loved one is hurt deeply.. words can do more damage than a slap.

Don't forget that after he slapped Chris Rock, he retreated to his seat and proceeded to yell not once, but twice, about keeping his wife's name out of Rock's #(Q@*Q@ mouth! Sure created a scene and a legacy for himself. I vote, we cancel Will Smith! I used to love him in tv, films, but not now, not anymore, not ever again. I can't unsee what I saw. And he wasn't even decent enough to apologize to CR. WS should have waited until they got backstage and THEN told CR he was angry with him. But instead, he made it a public spectacle and and then proceeded to yell about it too. No one will forget this. No one.
