There's a Facebook group called 'No Ordinary Eyes' and it's a gold mine for anyone interested in the days gone by.
According to the community's 'About' section, it encourages people to share fashion, street, and documentary photos from the past that "capture the essence of life and humanity in all its highs and lows." And they do!
The 322.6K members (among whom there are also masters of the craft, such as photographer Mykolas Juodelė) regularly post rarely seen images that transport you back in time and offer a new perspective on history. Here are some of the most memorable ones.

And here I am, who can't even make a snow ball that doesn't fall apart mid-flight ...
The orange in front is trying to rub out the brain cell.
Spent my whole life thinking shepherding was a peaceful easy job. My bad!
At the time this probably seemed like a mundane city-scape. Now it's a visual time capsule. The gritty feeling adds to the mood. I'm intrigued and wish there were more images to see from this session.
I was gonna say probably looks nearly the same now, apart from the clothes. But I actually managed to find the spot and well there is a Starbucks and a McDonald's. .. but as soon as you pan up (you can see the window where she was lying) it got that timeless feel again. So it is mainly the ground level that is modern. I could half make out the street sign (starts with lange, then a long word and with the options given by maps only one fit, and as soon as I knew the word I could read /make out the entire sign), then I scrolled through the street. anyway without further ado. Dropped pin https://maps.app.goo.gl/E7r92cx1BdFLG7bf8 the street view of this exact spot, turn to face southwest to get the same view as her
Load More Replies...Found the actual exact spot! Turns out I have been there. Below the apartment is an McDonald's now. I could make out part of the sign and in maps only one option starting "lange" made sense lengthwise and then I could actually make out the sign. Then used street view and checked the intersections and within 3 minutes of looking at this picture I found the spot! (The disinvestment building in the background helped pinpointing it). Turn facing southwest to get nearly the same as her (but on ground lvl) and turn around and pan up to see the protrubding) windowsill she was lying in. Dropped pin https://maps.app.goo.gl/E7r92cx1BdFLG7bf8 Pretty awesome to have found the same spot, even more so that I have been there!
For those that just want to know the street name and not go to maps. It is "Lange Leidsedwarsstraat" in the picture I believe it has got the old spelling Leidsche instead of Leidse.

Awesome braids! My hair is almost that long, but getting so thin I'm going to have to cut it. 😢

These are wonderful. Especially when you consider that most were done pre-digital era when there was no way to preview your shots and you were limited by the amount of film you had on hand. Remember those days?
