As a kid I lived in San Francisco, where my mom and a friend or hers found out where they were filming "The Streets Of San Francisco ". While they were taking a break in the filming the stars were off to the side not really taking pictures or interacting with anyone except the horse that was the police horse in the shot and all I wanted to do was pet the horse. Normal horse crazy little girl . Mom had other plans. She told me she would pay me 5$ to get a picture with Micheal Douglas. So not realizing this might not be the way to phrase it I walked up to him and asked if he would mind taking a picture with me like I was the important one. He did laughing about it the whole time ( only person to get a picture) but the kicker was after I thanked him I hollered "Okay mom Pay Up". He lost it and signed an autograph for mom and paid me the 5$ from his own pocket. And made sure I got to pet the horse. I was in cloud 9 for a long time after that

I've had a few but only one I can say was a surreal celebrity encounter and it was with Philip Seymour Hoffman. I grew up in NYC and liked hanging out at the Greenwich Village Waterfront. One night I'm sitting on the steps waiting for my ex and bff to come back and this lil boy runs my way and jumps on top of me, like a child that jumps on you ready for a hug. Philip runs towards us apologizing, I told him no need being that I have a child the same age, so he sits next to me and we start to chat. I kept thinking who is this man and then remembered The Talented Mr. Ripley, kept it to myself and it was the best thing I did because we had a nice chat, he pointed out his building and told me to come by with my daughter for a play date and told me to ask for Phil. It's was super surreal and he was very friendly and down to earth. It's a shame that he is gone.

I met Louis Theroux at Gatwick airport about 5-6 years ago. I say 'met', he actually ran past me as I was sat at a cafe table stuffing my face.

Nicest celeb I met was David Hewlett from SG Atlantis. I was waiting in line for an autograph, and had my 7 yr old daughter with me. My daughter has autism, and she became distressed by the crowd, the o my way to calm her way to pick her up. Now I'm short, and lifting her at that age meant her feet were almost in the ground, but I did it anyway. I got to the end of the line after an hour holding her, and saw the autographs were actually something like $50 each (event organiser demanded the price, not David). He saw that I started to leave disappointed, he asked why and I explained I couldn't actually afford that. He also asked about me carrying my daughter, probs because it looked weird, and I vaguely explained. He then grabbed about 10 photos, signed them all, and gave them to me. The event organised looked like he was ready to kill him, but David ignored him and did it anyway. Lovely guy.

I was walking out of The Gap in Santa Barbara and saw this large group of giggling girls. Wasn't paying attention to where I was going and I walked right into Rob Lowe. He's taller than I assumed. Cuter too.

I was in the Disneyland's hotel gift shop with my cousins when this huge secret service looking guy stood next to me. I was 11. Everyone in the store got really excited. I went to one of the clerks and asked what was going on and she said " Michael Jackson is here" and sure enough when I turned around there he was. This was around when his Thriller video had just came out. He was there with the Thriller director and a small boy who had oxygen tubes coming out of his nose. My guess was that it was a Make-A-Wish and he was taking the boy to Disneyland. Within seconds people started asking for his autograph and surrounding him. I didn't rush in because I felt like this was for the little kid and I felt bad that he was just trying to go to Disneyland, spend time with Michael, and maybe get a toy. It was like wildfire. They bodyguards soon started creating a path so that Michael and his companions could get back into a limo.

These are all very incredible and sweet stories! Some celebs have bad reputations for being stuck up d***s but there are MANY who are human just like the rest of us and think nothing of having a regular interaction with another person. We may put them on pedestals but from their perspective, they're standing on the same ground as everyone else. They probably have zero idea of the lasting impact they leave on people when they give their time and attention to them as illustrated in these stories.

Don't know most of the people but I still can't imagine meeting a celebrity in person... Actually I did see Ice Cube in the airport once. He was taking up a whole two couches and I rolled my eyes at him and walked away and my brother told me who he was like an hour later.
