Shallow, fickle, fleeting and excruciatingly awkward - these are some words that might describe dating today, as opposed to the more formal, practical and polite courting of our parents' era. How better to illustrate these differences than by contrasting modern attitudes to love with vintage comics from more innocent times?
This is exactly what Peter Nidzgorski, the creative genius behind the blog 'This isn’t Happiness' has done. Taking panels from classic comic love stories of yore, Peter cleverly inserts biting and satirical takes on today's self-obsessed culture, while playing heavily on one of his favorite themes - disappointment.
The result is funny, thought-provoking and artistic, typical of Peter's quirky collection in general. Scroll down below to check it out for yourself, and let us know what you think in the comments!

If you are purposely manipulating an individuals existence then you are the being with no value.
Actually, that's the word-for-word translation from greek for the phrase "if you ever need anything..." (αν ποτέ χρειαστείς τίποτα...)
Yes - there are plenty of memes about it. It's becoming popular. Irony, you are a sly one.
Thank god I was safely out of teenager hood when Tinder turned up, I would never have survived.
I thought they were a very sad indictment of today’s relationships. Instant, disposable and totally shallow!
They’re an indictment, yes, but “today’s [whatever]” is very often a myth and scapegoating of younger generations by older generations.

I think the text of the article is either a badly formed satire, or was written by someone who scapegoats the new for whatever they personally find uncomfortable and scary about it. None of these entries are unique to “modern” relationships. These are all fairly common types of defective thinking about relationships that have been around forever. They’re especially common with people who’ve been abused (usually emotionally). “Modern” relationship ideologies are a hell of a lot better for people, actually; especially for women. Women have more freedom and more agency. The fact that so many of these entries appear to be showing irrational women is both a sad confirmation of what emotional abuse does to women and a hint as to the biases of the submitters. I’ve had experience with many of these attitudes in several women I’ve dated and all of them were damaged by other people long before I met them. They were victims of abuse, not born stupid.
Very similar to "Last Kiss", a syndicated comic. I like them both.
