Hi! Welcome to my small corner of the internet, where you can see the slice of life of Mickey, a silly cat who won't hesitate to dish out tough love, and his 'hooman' Suzy, a girl who can understand cat-speak. Suzy and her adorable cat encounter magical worlds, everyday scenarios, and random things together.
I started this webcomic in mid-October 2018, after years of only drawing intermittently. I'd been feeling discouraged about doing cartoon drawings of my own, especially when I'd come back home from work and look at all the existing art out there -- it was all at once inspiring and daunting to try to pick up my pen again.
Upon discovering Inktober, I decided to tackle the challenge by doing whatever cute drawings I wanted, without feeling like I had to create the *perfect* final product. From that experimentation, these cute comics were born and have continued since.
I hope you can feel the joy and love that went into every single of these cat comics. Enjoy!

Growing up, I read a lot of Calvin & Hobbes and Garfield, which is what drew me to the art of comic-making in the first place. Over time, my style has changed from a typical comic strip format to a more graphic novel style format, which I can attribute to all of the amazing graphic novels I've been introduced to in the last few years.
Luckily for me, my cat is very not smart (I don't call him stupid it hurts his feelings lol)
Load More Replies...When I first started drawing 4-panel comics, it used to take me 6~7 hours for each one. Now that I have become more familiar with my characters and developed my own comfortable drawing style, drawing a 4-panel comic usually takes me around 2~3 hours. This of course does not include the process of coming up with the concept, which varies. For my longer-form comics, which are more in a graphic novel format, they can take me around 8 hours to even sometimes over two days per 'episode,' depending on how complex I decided to make the panels. These longer-form comics also require me to prepare the story ahead of time, in script format, so it can take even longer when the entire process is put together.
This is me. I’m just as happy in my own company as I am in the company of others—-and much prefer the former, as I’m happy to let me chill out and enjoy the peace and quiet while I recharge my social butterfly battery.
Lucky guy, I wish i had that kind of time to be alone and drift away into my thoughts and do what i want
When thinking of what I want to write and draw about, sometimes, I will be reflecting on a theme and trying to generate ideas. Other times, the ideas come more naturally, when I'm going about daily life or feeling inspired by the real world around me.
let me try... 'self acceptence in the form of a human...' oh hey bestieeeeee
Honestly, for humans to be so backward and judge animals so harshly and immaturely is ridiculous and "inhumane". So yes I'd be upset at my sister too if she come over one day spouting that silliness. Meh I'm so different I hate cats. Cats are reflections of how they were treated from the second they have any interaction (or lack there of). If they're hissy and scratchy easily it's because humans were careless in their interactions. There are so many cats that behave wonderfully and can have many companion traits of dogs. 2/3 of my cats play fetch and follow me around everywhere to hang out. The 3rd had was rescued from abusive circumstances so he's more standoffish but always tries to participate and he's never been anything but a little angel with my boyfriend and I. Goes to show what a little care will accomplish with animals, especially kitties

Creative work is an exciting and fun process for me, but it's not without its own challenges. Burnout is definitely one of the biggest challenges (in addition to many others) that artists face, including myself. Cat & Cat Comics on Instagram has grown into a whole graphic novel series called Cat & Cat Adventures, published by HarperCollins. Working on these books in addition to other books, all while trying to balance creating new free Instagram comics, definitely has taken its toll, and for a period of time, I had to deal with a wrist injury and burnout from over-work. Now, I try my best to take a more balanced approach, and I don't commit to creating new online comics every other day like I used to, so that I can make sure that the work I do create is the highest quality, because I've put in 100% of my mind and effort into it.
Fellow Warriors fan! What book are you on? I finished Midnight!

I’m 61, and have felt this way my whole life. Believe me, s**t used to really be gendered. When I was little, people would ask me what I wanted to be when I grew up. Before I could answer, they gave me two choices: a teacher or a nurse. I didn’t want to be either of those, but hadn’t settled on what I wanted to do yet, because I was still a little kid. Anyway, being given only two choices that even now are still perceived as gendered (though they’re getting to be less so, thank goodness!), I decided to blurt out the first non-female dominated (in the 1960s) jobs I could think of. Imagine their shocked faces when I’d say stuff like “I want to be a fireman”(the accepted title back then)! Gave me my first taste of taking pompous/narrow-minded/bigoted/misogynistic assholes down a few pegs, even though all I was initially trying to do was to get them to STFU about it. (Yep, I was “that” kid in my family—-also the baby and only girl, so you know…)
Girls and boys should be treated the same. No difference, besides medical things obviously. We rely on eachother for reproduction. We NEED the other gender. We should stop discriminating against girls for being “overly dramatic” on their period or guys for being stupid. (None which are true, just stereotypes!) Instead of insisting that one is meant for this, or one is better, etc.
Exactly!! I am a BIG Marvel fan, but I also love glitter and doing my makeup!
Had a roommate who saw my son playing with dolls with his sister. I ripped her a new one. Told her that girls play with dolls to learn how to be good moms, why is she trying to stop my son from practicing to be a good father. Don't get me wrong, I know not all people choose parenthood and that's fine. In fact, I applaud those who know they don't want kids and don't bring kids into an unwanted situation just because someone thinks it's an unnatural wish or relatives want grandkids/nieces or nephews. My son is in his late 30s and has no drive to get married and have kids - as long as he's happy idc. But do not, do not tell my kid he/she can't do something because it's not what their gender is supposed to like/do. His sister joined the Marines and everyone on her father's side tried to dissuade her because, you know, girls can't hack it. When she called me to tell me about he decision I asked her questions to make sure she had researched it (she always does) and told her if that's what
She wants go for it and do what makes her happy. She was a kick azz Marine. I'm 58 and play video games with my kids and grandkids. Sorry this post is so long but putting gender restrictions on anything drives me up the wall and pisses me off.
Load More Replies...What I'm most grateful for in my creative journey so far has been all of the people who have reached out to me, written reviews for my Cat & Cat Adventures books, and shared with me their stories of how they resonated with a particular comic, storyline, or character.
And the only known master of the DOT is MAN with capital letters. MAN is divided into 3 groups. The filthy dog living group🐶. The regal cat loving group 🐱. And the cat and dog loving group. That corrupts cats' and dogs' nature and forces both of them to live together In piece.
I think seeing the impact my work has had on people's lives, even if it's not the most significant event in their life, is the most enjoyable part of creating art. My second favorite is probably coming up with the concept and ideas in the first place. Building a world is such a personal experience, and I love every aspect of it, from designing the characters to adding small details that bring them to life.
I mean it is MINT ice cream, which is made out of mint, which is a plant. sooooo, yeah
My previous experience was not in art at all, but in healthcare and technology. I got my Bachelor's degree in molecular and cellular biology and a Master's degree in computer science. Before I moved to working as an author-illustrator full time, I was working in the tech field. All throughout my life, I've been drawing and writing for fun, but it was only in the last couple of years that I started digital art. I still have so much to learn, but it's been great growing as a creator.
Kids or animals, there’s no such thing as privacy. This is going to happen. Every. Damn. Time.
What motivates me as an artist is an inner desire to create, as cheesy as that may sound. I have so many ideas inside of me, characters who want to speak and share their stories, universes, and different timelines that are itching to be drawn. Even within the Cat & Cat universe, I hope to weave together positive, helpful messages that inspire people to be kinder and be more loving to both themselves and each other, and as I continue to tell these wholesome, silly stories about Squash, Ginny, Mickey, Minnie, Nana, and more, I want people to feel joy when they think about my 'Cativerse.'
Oh Squashy! You can come live with me, my three other rescue cats, and my cat-loving rescue dog!
Until Bazzy, our 19 year old cat, died (19 years and almost 5 months to be exact, and we were his parents since he was 9 weeks old), we also had four cats, including one brought in as an abandoned 5-6 week old kitten (when Baz was a bit over 17). When you have multiples, it really hits you how they all have their own little faces and personalities, and just how dead wrong the stereotypes are. They mirror humans in those ways, more than you’d think.
It’s a little piece of heaven right here on earth. Try it and you’ll see (it’s OK to substitute the animal of your choice, even a person, or any combination of them all).
yeah, for me its me, my gf, my five cats, a big blanket, and a netflix subscription

More importantly, your animals can help screen them as potential SOs for you. Animals almost always have a sense of whether someone’s a good person or not. Trust their instincts on this, since we humans are susceptible to being blinded by love/list/fear of loneliness and will allow our judgment to become clouded so much we even ignore our own “Spidey Sense”.
that's a cousin of Green Lanterns', Hulks', Shreks' and Grinch's secret cats

I read "robot" as "hobbit", and I think I may have just accidentally created a beautiful idea.
There are companies that rent out living Christmas trees and then replant them to use them again for the next year.

Load More Replies...Oh. No. It. Does. Not. If I gave in every time, my dog and cats would be living on treats, and always be too full to eat their normal food. Like a kid who wants to live on candy. If they did, they’d end up malnourished and really sick.
I have a bug-tracking cat. Our youngest and smallest cat, Tabby (almost two years old and spayed, and has never gotten any bigger than barely 7 lbs), will relentlessly track, hunt, torture, kill, then, well, eat all bugs that appear on her radar screen. I have had to wrestle wasps away from her many times. I keep a special lidded jar (I think it used to be a Grey Poupon jar, but I can’t remember for sure) for catching bugs so I can release them outside, and have had to be really eagle-eyed about noticing she’s let go of them, and quick about swooping in and scooping them up into the jar. I really don’t want to have to take her to the vet because a wasp she tried to eat stung her inside her little mouth. The fight continues.
Don't murder that poor sweet little thing, you monster in a ugly sweater!
✨ yasssssss queen! ✨ (sorry i had to :p) too much gender discrimination. We can never be “too this” or “too that.” We are ourselves! This is our path. Not yours.
imma take one for the team imma try it i will let you knwo how it goes
Me too but at first glance I thought it was steam from all the work
