Prepare yourselves for mass levels of cringe that are bound to send you spiraling deep into face-palm territory, dear Pandas. In my personal experience, there are very few things that are more cringeworthy (and deeply, deeply sad on a cosmic level) than seeing someone desperately trying to fit in with the younger crowd. They might think they’re hip, but they might actually need a hip replacement. “How do you do, fellow kids,” indeed.
It’s not just your neighbors, teachers, and professors, though. It’s entire companies, corporations, and conglomerates that try to appeal to the youngest generations by using their vernacular (read: slang), too. This, however, can backfire gloriously because it’s anything but natural and sometimes you can’t even get to grips with what’s going on. Imagine your grandparents shouting ‘YOLO’ and then doing the Backpack Kid’s dance moves—it’s that level of ‘oh Lord no, no, no, please stop.’
What’s even better is that there’s an entire subreddit, r/FellowKids, dedicated to documenting and cataloging the very worst transgressors who try to be cool. Check out the best pics below, upvote the ones that made your inner child groan in embarrassment, and be careful so you don’t overdose on the cringe.

Ohhh corporate burn. To heck with both of them I’m all about Barbara’s cheese puffs. Those things are hateful because they’re made with real cheese and they taste delicious. Don’t start and if you do don’t be coming back here and giving me grief about it!!! If you do come back here and give me grief about it I will take full responsibility though
I’m not even going to pretend that I ‘get’ the newest couple of generations. Oh, don’t get me wrong, I try to stay as up-to-date with what’s new as I can and I absolutely love watching how memes and their formats evolve over the years, but that’s not enough.
I’ve reached a point where I know that I won’t be able to get everything. And that’s perfectly all right—every single generation goes through this sense of alienation and isolation as it grows older. We think the world’s changing too fast/for the worse while the youngsters are complaining that we’re not cool.

Only Fools Rush In Blind To Join A Trending Hashtag
OMG that's brilliant. What a bunch of total wagon-jumpers. Jesus H. Candlesticks that was someone's career-ending move.
So while I’ll shamelessly steal ‘sus,’ ‘flex,’ and ‘yeet,’ you can bet your bottom dollar that I’ll steer clear of the likes of ‘skrt,’ ‘kiki,’ and (probably the very worst offender) ‘bae.’ Why? Because I don’t get them. And pretending otherwise would be to behave exactly like the people making you laugh in this very list.
Besides, I’d much rather be old-fashioned and eccentric in my own way than desperate to fit in. I like who I am, I don’t need to pretend to be a teenager. But, damn it, ‘yeet’ is just a fantastic word, isn’t it?

The ‘Fellow Kids’ subreddit has just shy of 801k members and they’ve been around on Reddit since the late spring of 2014. The moderators are very straightforward when it comes to the community rules. In essence, try your best to be nice and make sure that your posts are on-point and actually belong on r/FellowKids. Otherwise, they might be yeeted out. Sounds simple enough, right?

That’s the most bland and dull conversation ever. YO-YO is an easily convinced and gullible fool.
He's more easier to convince to do something than Peppa Pig's parents.
Load More Replies...Feels a bit too ridiculous to type like that if you can already use a keyboard properly. 😐
First thought was that it just must be old, then realised this would have been cringe in 2004.
That this starts with how was the museum yesterday is a total giveaway no one under 25 was ever consulted in the making of this page.
"Dude, we're gonna have a blast at the tupperware party tonight!"
Load More Replies..."Chatspeak is also called netspeak because you can use it on the Net and in e-mails". No. Do not use it in emails. Texts, social media comments, messenger - whatever, go for it, but I can't belive they're actually teaching young people that it's okay to put that sort of thing in emails.
Text speak used to irritate me a lot.some parents let their children use it when texting yet when they got a spelling mistake in their homework the parents would berate the child.
Literally no one texts like that. Why do people assume we younger people text like this? Like, we use normal words believe it or not.
We have to take them out before they call their leader, Dr COOL Jasper.
No one talks like that. Most people just use a few abbreviations they like (jk, lol, gn, ttyl, etc) and then say the rest normally.
That is not how gen z talks that is not how gen z talks that is NOT HOW GEN Z TALKS FOR THE LOVE OF GOD
At least not all of them. Theres a small percentage of them that are like this but
Load More Replies...First of all, they're really exaggerating the abbreviations. Second of all, why do those emojis on the page look so retarded?
It is part of a topic (common for ESL textbooks). I am more upset that so much space gets taken up with pictures, or in this case, uselessly huge emojis.
If the book is full ot emojis... then either you can read it or you ara a bad learner ;)

Ah yes, the true message of Christ: Ostracize and distance yourself those different from you. (There's why there are no biblical stories about lepers, prostitutes, tax collectors, or other traditionally ostracized people.) /s

New Zealand Police Trying To Meme

Some of these are NOT OK. I wanna call the police on the New Zeland Police! And as for everyone on this list trying to be "hip with the kids" which isnt even a saying anymore, thats... those memes are SUPER OUTDATED. Oop sksksksk? 2014. Are you even trying to get advice from the actual gen z'rs or are you just throwing out outdated stuff😂 --your freindly neighborhood Gen Z kid
I'm Gen X and I didn't understand most of these. Sigh. I'll go back to trying to solve my Rubik's Cube now.
Load More Replies...Is 'milennial' just slang for kid now? Constantly seeing people say millenial even though millenials haven't been the young generation for ages.
I went into a Sherwin Williams and their logo was "Cover the Earth" with a paint can being poured over the globe. All it did was remind me that I was about to go in and buy some toxic chemicals. Not directed at kids, but just in the same vein of marketing that I think did not hit the intended mark. (They were awesome at that store, though.)
I didn't find many of them cringy. In fact, some were very well executed. These companies are doing the right thing by trying to relate to their younger customers. If they don't adapt, they go under. Besides, the staff who run the companies' social media accounts are probably millennials.
Millennials are 40. We're not young. And posting cringe is not the same as being hip with the kids
Load More Replies...This kind of stuff only proves that companies never actually listen to young people talk, or ask their advice.
They're only there to sell you stuff, what else should be their agenda. Don't trust them.
