We’ve seen a lot of unlikely animals friendships here at Bored Panda. Dogs and elephants. Cats and foxes. Even giraffes and ostriches. However, nothing comes close to seeing an American black bear, an African lion and a Bengal tiger living together in harmony. That one really takes some beating.
Baloo the bear, Leo the lion and Shere Khan the tiger have spent the last 15 years peacefully coexisting at Noah’s Ark Animal Shelter in Georgia. Known as the BLT, they were rescued in 2001 from the basement of a house in Atlanta during a police drug raid. They were kept in the basement in terrible conditions, and Baloo had to have surgery to remove an ingrowing harness that hadn’t been adjusted as he’d grown. That was the only time the trio have ever been separated however, and they’ve spent every happy day together since.

They live together at Noah’s Ark Animal Shelter in Georgia
They were too injured to be rehabilitated and returned to the wild
But by the looks of things they’re more than happy to live together at the sanctuary!
Baloo is an American Black Bear, Leo is an African Lion and Shere Khan is a Bengal Tiger
Coming from three different continents, such animals would never meet each other in the wild
But despite their various differences, the animals get along like brothers and are completely inseperable
They started life in a terrible way but they now live together in happy retirement

What do you think ?
"Lions, and Tigers, and Bears? Oh, my!" Nobody? hmm, oh well... XD
Darn, someone beat me to it...
Omg someone beat me to saying this too!! I can't win!! ;)
You think that would have been their first choice for titling this article. :)
First thing I thought of too.
Dang it, first thing I thought of.
First thing I thought of! :)
we're furious and fast bro.
Um, don't male African lions have manes? Isn't that a female lion?
He was neutered at a young age
neutered or not...males have manes..Only a small sub species of male lions don't have manes..that is a female lion..
Some african lions are maneless - for example the Tsavo lions, it's a trait that fits better in their specific habitat.
99% of male african lions have manes...those lions you mentioned are rare...
A lion's mane grows due to testosterone production. When they're neutered at a young age, that messes the hormonal levels up and, as a result, the manes don't grow. ((sorry to bring this back up ten months later ^^;;))
Lion neuters include their manes being shaved and they don't grow back.
why on earth would you shave a males mane...that is the symbol of the male lion..I don't believe that for a second..that is a female lion. Plus, male lions are over 400lbs...not 300lbs.
Also he could be a Tsavo or close relative male - they don't have manes at all, indeed lions from warmer areas of Africa don't grow manes
It could be castrated
Baloo and Shere Khan seem especially close... beautiful creatures...
