Magazines for females are just garbage ,for ages 11-24 it's all "makeup, clothing, sex and hair care" then for ages 25-35 it's all "lose weight, makeup , sex and mommy tips" then for ages 35 and up it's "sex, lose weight,makeup" even cooking magazines are not immune from this c**p. It's a shame really.
Don't forget that from 24 on you also have to learn how to get rid of grey hair and wrinkles.

Brandon you are wrong. It IS in fact telling girls that they can only be perfect while telling boys they can have the freedom to be what they want to be. Amberly- I think you are missing the point. They are literally named 'boys life' and 'girls life' You can buy hair and makeup magazines, that is not the issue. You can buy gaming magazines, movie magazines, music etc... so if you have a specific interest, it is usually catered for. This is literally gender specific. It is literally telling girls that they should only be concerned with what they look like but telling boys that they can be anything they want. It is right there on the freakin covers.
