Shopping at thrift stores is pretty exciting. You never know what you're going to find next. Regular stores usually have generic themes and you have a basic understanding of what they offer. But with thrift stores, it's like opening the old metal cookie box in your grandma's attic. From a Jesus Magic 8-Ball to a sassy "grandfather" clock/shelf, you’d pretty much have to buy these things if you found them stumbled upon. Nobody could miss such an opportunity. Scroll down, enjoy, and upvote your faves.

Thrift shopping probably pleases millennials the most—a group fond of supporting local businesses and/or companies with shared value systems. "Millennials are very keen to do something that helps other people," Ekstrand said. "They want that connection; they want to feel good about being environmentally conscious. They want to do the right thing."

So sweet. My friend had a 20.5 (or so) year-old cat. Vincent was well-traveled. Having moved intercontinentally a few times, he had a cat passport. Thus, no need for "rabies quarantine" in countries who are (understandably) finicky about such things. I was his human Auntie. (We were flat-mates, the day she brought him home.) Long live your lovely cat!

Omg I feel duuumb. I came on Here to read comments to figure out what baking soda meant. I was like “why would you bake soda!?!” It took a minute and a few comments before I realized “baking soda” not baking some soda like Coca-Cola 🤦‍♀️ and i owned a bakery for 12 years! what’s wrong with me? (The word was split on 2 different lines so I think reading it separately like that is to blame…partly at least) I deserve all the dumb comments you want to call me

A very sweet cup and a great find,but..the cup is not 19th cent.it is made in the first quarter of 20th cent. It is transfer print and only the silver lines are painted by hand. The flowers are Myrtle and probably the Silver Bride would wear a little Myrtle-wreath and the Silver Groom a Myrtle-twig in his button-hole.Customary in Germany and Scandinavia way back.

it was originally for door men in England to shelter in from cold breezes from guests coming in and out. The doormen were effectively door openers and bouncers for the more up market establishments.....

I Found A Gift I Made For Someone In A Thrift Store

I Found A Gift I Made For Someone In A Thrift Store

It’s a big, squishy, crocheted blanket made with bernat blanket yarn. I made it in 2017 for a dear older friend that I knew from our coordinated 3x a week outpatient hospital infusions. I visited her when she was inpatient in hospital and gave her the blanket. She was so touched! She wasn’t getting a lot of visitors and I really felt for her. She passed christmas day, 2017. I’m not mad, just a bit sad thinking about it sitting there. It was stained and looked pretty well-loved... I’d like to think it was a comfort in her last days

I would have him on my front porch. If it's raining, he gets a raincoat and hat. Sunny, he carries a parasol. Snowy, he gets a hat with ear flaps and a jurassic park sweatshirt. He'd have an outfit for all occasions. My HOA can screech all they want. I'd have a velociraptor and that's all the argument I need.

According to the trivia, the part in which Hudson's hand was used, was unscripted, and the confused reaction of Bil! Paxton in the beginning, genuine. Being the speed obviously increased, the grin of the sgt Apone caught in the shot was speeded up as well, making it somewhat funny.

I Believe, It’s A Funeral Fan, I Have Two Of Them. Way Back When... Fans Like This Were Placed On Each End Of A Casket And Were Used To Help Keep The Body Cool

I unearthed this one from the garage this morning... I consider selling them every time I have to move them because they are so heavy and awkward... and then I look at them and imagine all the weird stories they could tell if only fans could tell stories... and decide to keep them

Not always grandma's papa's do too as well as mothers fathers and kids. This artform can and should be loved by all generations. I mean granny wasn't always old crocheting. Nobody turns and suddenly becomes a master crocheter. That takes years of skill. I'm 30 been crocheting for 15 years and I'm only calling myself decent now. Please stop associating yarn with old people.

This is definitely from a Japanese gatchapon (capsule) toy set. Look up 'cat sushi gatchapon' they aren't really rare or anything. There is a whole series of the sushi cats, 5 in total. Japan has a lot of cat-themed capsule toys-- basically they run 'sets' of items through the capsule machines, the themes change year to year. If you go to Akihabara (like an electronic/entertainment district) you can find stores that are wall to wall gatchapon machines... they have various sets in them... I remember finding one with deep sea aquatic life (I got an octopus) and lots of name brand ones like hello kitty or other sanrio chars... and lots of anime ones. Oh and lots of various cats ones-- and other animals too. One was ducks in like samurai hats.
