I live in a rural area. I love trees and have planted several varieties in addition to preserving the trees already here. Logging is destructive in many ways including erosion and destroying animal habitats. Trees take decades to mature. If hemp or bamboo can get the job done, do it.
Imagine where we could be if they didn't outlaw hemp and marijuana out of ignorance. Coulda had a lot of rainforest still.
Many countries allow hemp as soon as it only has CBD and not TIH (so it does not make you high).

I've been screaming this for years, we can press it make medicine, we can chop it up shred it into bricks and cars, houses and bio fuels 💯 sustainable. We can let go of oil but no one listens. It's fire proof, water roof and indestructible in other ways..Google guy made a car from hemp, or build bricks, or homes or fuel s from hemp...it's amazing stuff

Even family guy referenced this in an episode about how William Randolph Hurst campaigned against the hemp industry under the guise of being against marijuana when really he knew hemp could be better for paper and didn't want to lose money.
I wish I could upvote this 6000x ......... over logging of our northern Ontario forests then sprayed so that pine only grows here.... is absolutely ruining the biodiversity in our boreal forest and forever changing the acidity in the soil... among many other problems .HEMP could help solve.
What we do to trees gives me nightmares. Between hemp, bamboo and recycling, there is very little need to be felling trees for consumer products. I hope we realize we're killing our own planet in time to save it.

You've got that mixed up. Henry Ford saw oil and plastics used in car making and operating as unsustainable. He actually developed a car that was made of hemp and ran off hemp oil. However, the gas industry saw this as a threat and worked alongside other industries (cotton, steel, paper) to prohibit hemp. It is really such a loss for humanity, we could have had such a more beautiful and clean world.
