This is my tattoo! I actually got a tattoo of my other cat, Olive, by the same artist. So far these tats are holding up really well, but I'm totally committed to touch ups every few years. When thinking about inking your skin, it's important to understand what you're getting yourself into. "I would say one of the most common misconceptions about tattooing perhaps would be the time it takes to design and perform a tattoo," Young told Bored Panda.
"I think to the inexperienced customer, they can, a lot of the time, assume we are able to just 'knock up' a quick design and unfortunately, the line 'the tattoo should only take half an hour' is thrown in quite a lot."

I think the people who think that the pose is weird are a little weird themselves. (Probably mostly from the USA - they seem to have the oddest hang-ups about the human body)
Young is guessing that it could stem from flash sheet days, "where you could just pick off the wall and get it done quite quickly. Or perhaps it comes from watching 'reality' tattoo shows that are cut to show the design, set up, and execution done in half an hour."
Either way, the artist thinks people should invest a bit of patience to educate themselves rather than meet these assumptions and misconceptions with frustration.

Apparently this thread is 8 months old? I'm going to comment anyway. You can buy sticker sheets or even temporary tattoos as printer paper and print off a dozen of these for $10-15 where I live (Canada). Maybe look into it! I bet it would make a great little gift for her.

"Another common misconception would be the pain aspect," Young added. "Yes, the procedure can be painful, but the body is incredibly resilient and everyone is surprised at their own pain tolerance.
"We as humans are capable of sitting through huge amounts of trauma and so when anyone mentions they wouldn't be able to sit for a tattoo, I would encourage them to just give it a bash and they will be pleasantly surprised at their own tolerance."

That's a goodest boy (girl?) ever! I was going through a horrible time with depression and anxiety. Not proud of this, but I had self mutilation/cutting behaviors and was almost hospitalized. I adopted a 9 month old kitten from the local pound. My beautiful ball of fluff helped me in ways no person had been able to. With him at my side and in my lap and with proper medical treatment and medication regimen I got better. It will be 2 years next month and while I still have days that I'm depressed or anxious it's never gotten to that point again. Maverick has been a wonderful friend, companion, listener, psychologist, and fuzz therapist! I love you, my fuzzy faced menace!😽❤️

That is amazing, but be careful dude, even though there is no specific law against tattoos in Iran as far as I know, you and the tattoo artist could get a lot of s**t for a tattoo. I remember many tattoo artists did these secret tattoos a while back, but now I am not sure if they can run a business with getting harassed. Even the artist can get harassed because they live in Iran, especially as the image promotes LGBTQIA+, something that can be punished by a death sentence over there.

The most important thing first-timers should concentrate on, according to the tattoo artist, is comfort. "If the customer is not comfortable and relaxed, then usually it sets the precedent for how well they sit during the tattoo procedure," Young highlighted.
"Too many times I've seen first-timers hella nervous and not made to feel relaxed and instead of excited, they are fearful, and don't actually sit very well or enjoy the whole experience. It is a tattooist's responsibility to ensure that they are not only providing the very best tattoo for the client but making it the most enjoyable experience too."

That is an incredibly confident and skilled tattoo artist to work with the kind of scarring. The tissue is completely different from normal skin, and that man had to have incredible pain tolerance since scars, especially burn scars, tend to be many times more sensitive than normal skin.

This one is a class on it's own... Getting tattooed on burned skin can be very painful for the the duration it takes to tattoo, but also for the tattoo artist it's hard, as it's not the easiest canvas to work with. Both these people deserve extra credits for this beautiful work of art.

Now this looks awesome.... but the fine lines will blur out over the years. Just had that discussion with my tattoo artist. If outlines are to fine the will get blurry/washed very fast... Lot of these fine line concepts only look good for a couple of years and you can not really renew them too..

Pink is hard to tattoo as a colour, and with zero detail in a cartoon character it would just look bobbins, being a big slab of nothing much. Whereas this way the juxtaposition between the traditional, highly-detailed, tiger and the plain-as-your-nose panther is funnier. I think. *shrugs*

The unfortunate assumption. It’s still done with traditional techniques. No water or use of water to create the effect. Just solid color and color theory to create the illusion of transparency. I stand by my work.

Very nice concept and execution on the blades. I agree with Lennart that the handles don't keep up. Maybe give them an understated carving, like an elegant simple flower embossed in ivory and an elegant simple gold wave.

Those colors really match the skin tone so well, Kubrick Ho seems to be a master of color. The shading of both flower and leaves, plus the shaded leaves underneath give it so much more depth. They are both cool and warm at the same time, and make me think of spring. So pretty!

I think once the postings get to 2 or 3 weeks BP limits the post to 50 postings and hides the others- so the viewer has to click on the “more postings” to see. Some viewers don’t see the spot where you click and all the rests of them over those weeks stop getting upvotes.

A word from the OP in the original post on Reddit: I wanted to do an experiment to see if this would be possible to get someone to do this with me, and see if I could make a genuine friendship out of the experience! I basically just walked up to random strangers in Vancouver and asked them if they would be down. The second person I asked was Geran and he was immediately down, literally such a dope dude. The idea was we would share a bonding experience before the tattoo. So I brought him to do my favourite thing which is paintball, and he brought me to his MMA gym and we did some sparring! And then from there we went and got the tattoos! We still stay in contact and my girlfriend is actually helping him with his nutrition for his upcoming fight!

Interesting. The scar coverups always give me mixed feelings. On the one hand they are gorgeous and some scars can be triggers but on the other hand a scar is a phisical representation of incredible strength. They are badges of honor and it makes me sad that some people are ashamed of them.
