I would have planted trees around the perimeter so they can’t all look in to the house, and gives them something nicer to look at!

To find out more about the “What The Crazy House” project, Bored Panda reached out to the creator behind it, Robyn from Ohio. “I’m married with 2 kids and I work part time at a shoe store,” she told us. Robyn said that she has always loved to look at houses. Once, she saw a space bedroom which became her first post. “It was unbelievably wild and I thought that I see weird stuff in the houses I look at all the time.”

That’s how she came up with an idea to put them all in one place and start the page. “On a whim one day, I made Whatthecrazyhouse. I don’t even think I remember how I came up with the name! It was just a split moment decision,” the creator said and added that she started “What The House” back in February, 2019 but she really didn’t get a following until this past year.

When asked how she’d describe her audience, Robyn said that they’re like her: “fun and snarky.” She added: “I’m proud to say they are nice and funny. I’ve never had a fight break out. Everyone is just here to laugh and make fun of stuff in a lighthearted manner.” Robyn really loves this page and she is super proud to run it. “It’s all for fun!,” she said.

The creator said that she “hates '80s decor so she posts some of that.” “I am constantly seeing things I’ve never thought possible and that shock me. And then I think that someone did this… on purpose?! What?!!” she wondered.

We also asked Robyn what was the craziest house she has ever seen, and she said that “it’s a tie between the murder house and the cat poster house where cat pictures were EVERYWHERE. I mean it: they were all over the bathroom and kitchen and walls and ceiling. Just cats.”

When asked what could be the motives for why people design and build such crazy houses, Robyn said that this is how they express themselves or that they’re simply weird. “We are all a little weird, but sometimes things just go wacky and we get the wild things I post.”

A large black cauldron, with a brew bubbling in it, being stirred by the Three Weird Sisters from MacBeth, would give the look some polish. Don’t you think?

Aside from some of the color schemes, it’s not half bad. Outside is really nice, though I’d go with pale blue or pale yellow instead of mint green.

I've seen the reverse of this too - where there is the air vent cover like this with just a hole through the wall behind it to another room (not leading to any ductwork).

I think the idea is: if you're going to fall down the stairs, just get it over with quickly.

Looks like one of those tiny houses. I love the idea, but I bet stairs like this (as well as the lofted bedroom where you have to crawl around on your hands and knees) gets old VERY fast!

I've seen this one before - it's actually a large shed on a farm & go up to a loft type storage area where the guy stores bags of feed. But yeah, those are awful looking stairs.

Went to a covid vaccination centre that had steps like this up to the first floor (very old building in the UK - tiny staircase). The staff on the ground floor just looked at my walking aids and said ‘yeah, you ain’t going up there love, lemme get the doctor down here’.

Actually this is genius, if i am assuming that the stairs were build like this to save space. Just look at it, consider how to take those steps and consider how much space there would have been needed extra if it had not been build like that.

I wonder what they're like to walk on once you get used to them. They might look difficult, but who knows, maybe they're even nicer to walk on then normal stairs, after the first few days. I mean as long as you start with the right foot, why would this be more difficult? I'm not going to judge them without actually having tried them, things aren't always as they seem.

There was one of these in a vacation house my bf and I rented some years back. We had our, thrn, only daughter with us and it stated in the description online that there was a baby high-chair. When we arrived we realised that the high-chair was on the 2nd floor and THIS type of chairs was what connected the 1st and 2nd floor. My bf went up, found the chair and was so nervous about carrying it down those stairs but he did it! By the end of the week he had to carry it back up those stairs as it was a must-do according to the welcome papers in the house. Never went back!

I have a recurring dream of stairs in a dusty , closeted stairway that look like this. It involves skin worms, terror, and aloneness with the darkness overtaking and swallowing me before I can reach the next light switch. ( Yes. I'm being currently treated for severe anxiety disorder and depression with therapy and meds) and those steps look like the ones in my dreams if they were dirty.

I think these are nautical - something about "stairs" (ladders) going from one level on a ship to another? Don't know why it's necessary though... Saw these in a beach cottage going up to a loft once. And yeah... no.

There's a superstition where you only want people to enter your house on their right foot. And people build stairs to force this to happen. There's a famous inventor in my country who was ... eccentric, and the stairs to his house are like this (but in stone).
