Hmm... I should say there are a lot of factors to wage gap. Hours, overtime, time off, types of jobs, etc... so I feel like the artist is missing the point here. When all factors are adjusted, there are not really any substantial wage gap at least in US. Also there are some places where women make more money than men... There are few places that need to be addressed like teachers who should have higher salaries than they actually do
It is a complex issue, but these issues still exist. "Not substantial" is still typically a $0.19/hr gap. Let's also not forget the underrepresentation of wome in board-rooms, management, science/engineering jobs... there are still enormous problems to address.

Here's an irreverent question: Has anyone looked into what transwomen make? I'd be curious to see if a person who until recently lived as a male but transitioned to female actually took a financial hit vs the reverse (female to male). I know they're a tiny minority, but it would be interesting to see the numbers
Women hold the lowest paying jobs bc of sexism and the patriarchy it's been proven over and over again. The system is rigged for white men period. It's not hard to see this w your eyes. The people w the most money in the whole world are white men. In the USA 8 white men hold the most wealth. Women don't get hired for the ceos even if qualified.
If it WERE actually true that companies deliberately paid women less than men for the same job, then why not just hire all women and save on their largest expense - labor? Less expense = greater profit.
And that's what they get paid. By law. Also, if women could be paid less, why would a company ever hire a man?

My mother only hires women to fight with this. She has her own business in our birth country and there women experience gender issues all the time. Especially is art fields. It's believed only men can do it, but that's just a stereotype.
Why does gender inequality happen so often? I’m a boy but I can tell you straightforwardly that men can be jerks. But not all of them. I hate that men used to be the “important” one. Yes they are mostly the ones who work, but the females help cook the meals and clean the house to help too.
Not always. I was a trucking dispatcher, a male dominant environment. There was only 1 other female and we were paid the least compared to our male coworkers. We did the exact same job, her and I both had at least 5 years more experience than the men and we were the last ones to leave the office every day.
