Secret Drawer In Window Sill
Anyone else realize that thieves reading this now have new places to look?
Thieves are too dumb to remember such a hiding place during a robbery with all of that dumb adrenaline coursing through them.. They'd waste a ton of time trying each windowsill, believe me. They'd have to know to spot deeply set windows like these, that could house such a hiding place. I'm sure they wouldn't remember this at all... thieves are IDIOTS!
Load More Replies...all these ideas... most of them are small compartments where you can hide money... why not put it in your wallet/bank ? these are just suggestions for drug dealers =)
Maybe Hercules will drop by and lift it out if your house... just sayin’
Load More Replies...Oh, yeah! Hidden places that don’t stay hidden... means bye bye good stuff!
Yeah they don’t stay hidden because of this gddm Internet. Grrrr.... 😂
Load More Replies...Behind The Murphy Door
I LOVE THIS IDEA!! And every day, before I opened it, I would yell, "Quick Robin! To the Bat Cave!"
I would love such beautiful bed for my precious books. I have no room for new ones. :'(
I'd love a hidey hole place like this for myself. Is there a window to it though? Does it pass safety codes? I believe so. I think I see light from a window. I love it!
Secret Bookshelf
this one is the best yet bc there's no way other people would know unless they were shown of it first.
we have drawers similar to this on boats since we have limited space.
pretty sure their are nun-chucks in there aswell
Load More Replies...I hope there's a hidden latch to flip in order to open the drawers. Thinking of my 2-year-old grandson, if there's a way, he'll find it. Toddlers are curious that way!
If you forget where the latch is, maybe your grandson could find it. Like those childproof medicine bottles that children can open, but grownups have trouble. LOL
Load More Replies...Birdhouse With A Hidden Box
Bad idea. Now the birds can get your house. Didn't you see that Alfred Hitchcock movie?
This is clever! It's a separate compartment below the bird house (you can see the bottom of the actual bird's compartment) so it won't get pooped on.
but what if a bird makes a nest on top of your keys? how will you get them then?
Jar That Looks Like Full Of Grains
Nice everyone can do it to! Take a jar put a paper rolled up and taped together in. Then fill the sides with nuts! Although you smart pandas probably know that :)
yes, and it's pretty safe to say most thieves won't want lentils. Don't put it in a jar of chocolates or a "fake" beer can!!
Doortop Stash
Could be done in so many places that are so much easier to reach but still be completely innocuous.
Hide all yr tax money in that hiding hole. The tax collector will never look there😂
Secret Crawlspace Access Door
well done camouflaged, but wouldn't the spot where the door is sounds hollow if you walked or jumped on it?
But you likely won't notice the difference unless you're really looking for a random trap door in the living room (or whatever carpeted area this is I ).
Load More Replies...Oh they WONT see that they carpet has a cut in it, NOT. I mean, it’s ok when someone is on top to sweep over the pile of the carpet where the carpet pile looks ‘broken’ so to speak... but when someone isnt there to sort it, it’ll be so apparent there is a hole in the floor. Very, very dodgy.
".......*whisper soft voice* ....."ppleassse let mme ggo. *cough* I ppromise I won't ssay *wimper* anything. Ppplease I won't tell aanyone.....justtt llet me go....."
Hidden Chair Compartment
Also a great place to hide Aunt Ruth's nasty a*s broccoli casserole that you've "finished." ;-)
lolololol. * imagine the host's distress a week later " where is that bad smell coming from ? "
Load More Replies...Well...who's going to steal a chair? How are you going to sneak out of a house with a chair?
Load More Replies...I can just see myself scooting too far forward and having the seat cushion flip up - too clumsy for this one
You want to lock it down somehow because they might throw stuff around if they get pissed off.
Roll Up Your Valuables In A Diaper To Keep Them Safe At The Beach
Be my luck, some frantic mom needing a diaper would swipe it while I was swimming and she'd end up with a nice bonus.
you will look a bit weird if you have dirty diapers but no baby
Wrap it up and then put it in a plastic bag and tie a knot in the bag. That's what you do with poopy diapers anyway.
You might want to use adult size diaper for that size of a wallet.
Functional Tile
Most walls are hollow now anyway. Very very simple even to a mind of a female. I’ll say before anyone else does. Lol 😂
Load More Replies...Indiana Jones: Archeology is the search for fact, not truth. If it's truth you're interested in, Dr. Tyree's Philosophy class is right down the hall. So forget any ideas you've got about lost cities, exotic travel, and digging up the world. We do not follow maps to buried treasure, and "X" never, ever marks the spot.
Won't it be too difficult to open , even for the owners ? Unless it's operated by phone or remote or something, I guess
or something simple like the front tile has a little metallic coating and opened by a magnet
Load More Replies...Now people are gonna go around attempting to push in every "off" tile they see.
So many great ideas, these are just plain cool! Thank you for giving me ideas to share
Great ideas.... we're all informed and criminals are updated! My key is under the mat! .-)
Secret Door Bookcase
I wonder whether it can be opened manually, I wouldn't want to be trapped during a power outage. Super smooth though, I wonder whether that picture frame on the shelves is glued into place?
I think it is manual. That gif is stop motion, which would be a lot of unnecessary extra work if it opens automatically under power.
Load More Replies...It loks like something out of an episode of Scooby-Doo! I love Scooby-Doo so this is awesome for me!
What if some idiot moves the sofa in front of the bookshelf? That would be dangerous and hilarious at the same time.
It is a decent idea but there is considerable weight with all the books.
Looks like dead space from the outside, so you don't suspect an extra small room. Great office or writing space.
Secret room, more places for books. I would like the secret latch to be move the photo this way, then move the third book on the bottom shelf that way.... this would be just sooo satisfying. ... even just as a space extender in a small bedroom.....sort of putting the work away from the bed.
So much yummy goodness, i want this . Not so much to store valuables...just for fun :)
Load More Replies...Secret Photo Frame
Put a safe behind it, with some unimportant papers inside, to throw thieves off scent. They move the frame and forget about it...
Easy to store, easy to remove. Also, it's an example. You might put meds, a thumb drive, a key etc.
Load More Replies...The pull-down part would have to be a distance from the wall else it would eventually mark the paint or wallpaper.
Basement Steps Secret Storage
Every boat I have ever worked on the stairs inside have lots of storage underneath. On the current one I'm on you grab the second tread and lift the entire stairs up and you can actually walk inside. From there there is a door on the floor and you can go into the bilge from there. Stairs are on of the best places to utilize space.
Probably spring loaded. you push on it and it pops out.
Load More Replies...I've seen these being utilized in a lot of tiny houses. Brilliant idea.
This is common in the "tiny" homes that are so popular now. Don't waste any available space!
Hide Your Sweets Like A Pro
Hide your sweets like you're a mom with 3 young kids who eat everything that falls in their hands excepting green soybeans.
Me too! Salty edamame in the pod is addictive like chips.
Load More Replies...When I was a kid, we picked wild strawberries to freeze, but my little brother( who hadn't picked any!) would eat them all out of the freezer. So I told my Mom to write "peas" on the plain white freezer boxes, in red ink! WE knew where the rest of the berries were!
I have big cardboard box full of sweets and snacks in my closet. I call it the Box of Shame
Secret Safe From Old CD's
OHHH, that's clever! No one these days is going to mess with a stack of blank DVD's!
is it just me that is wondering how the hole was made in all those CDs?
heh! ... maybe i could do that with my old floppy discs.....keep waiting for a everything old is in fashion again...
tangent rant: : i have books that are older than me, and still perfectly usable. not so the old old big floppies, the small floppies.... and the computers that use them. ..... scared to use ebooks because they will become un usable.
Load More Replies...Phone Jack Secret Compartment

Hide House Key Outside With Pill Bottle
Mayonnaise Jar Spray-Painted With Cream-Colored Paint For Plastic
that's exactly what i was thinking, thieves make sandwiches. it should be in the marmite jar or something nasty or healthy.
Load More Replies..."That mayo was expired. I helped clean out the fridge and threw it out." --- WHAT????
This is a good Idea until you want mayo, Use Miracle whip instead, nobody like that.
EXACTLY what I was thinking. Miracle Whip is disgusting so I'd never mistake that.
Load More Replies...What if your parents or roommate go to clean out the refrigerator and accidentally throws it away? Or a thief goes to make a sandwich?
Bad idea. Mayonnaise is probably the 2nd most used item in the fridge.
Potted Plant Secret Compartment
That people are hiding flash drives makes me think there's something dodgy going on in their lives.
I'm a writer with years of work on flash drives. I am very protective of those flash drives. Nothing dodgy - they're just super important to me.
Load More Replies...gotta hide those secret government files in the most high tech spaces we can
In Taiwan, burglars always used to smash flowerpots first, because that's where most old ladies hid their gold. Not so much anymore.
Drawer With A Secret
If that little cash is drug money, they sure don't use a lot/aren't succesful dealerS
Load More Replies...Yeah, you want to have cash for unforeseen emergencies, but the rest of your money is much safer in a bank!
Load More Replies...Hornets Nest Hiding Spot
Having a real hornet inside would make it even more secure.
Load More Replies...Looks like a suspicious blob of painted foam. I guess it depends on which wasps you have in your area.
Too hard to get to if you really need the key. Have a ladder laying around your yard?
This would also deter other hornets from encroaching on established territory.
Secret Compartment Coffee Table
I could use that just to stash the junk that accumulates on my coffee table.
It helps a lot when you heard noises downstairs! At least your rifle and ammunition will be safe!
Cabinet Hidden Storage
this gallery hes exactly two types of posters: people with a whole lot of money and people with a whole lot of time
People with a whole lot of money usually do have a whole lot of time

Hidden Wall Outlet Safe
These are so common that the outlets are probably the first place thieves look.
except it's found as soon as someone plugs something in and the outlet doesn't work.
With the number of outlets in a house that are not used this could be quite useful.
Would totally work in my house...Many of the outlets are not even wired to electrical!
I’ve seen these on Amazon. They look cheap and fake. You can easily make your own using the real thing. There’s a lot of space in an outlet box without the wires.
Hidden Compartment In A Globe
But how the heck do you get stuff OUT? I’m guessing those rolled up dollars didn’t just navigate (see what I did there?) themselves to the escape hatch. What a great piggy bank idea, though.
Unless someone actually constructed a box in there how would you get the stuff out? Seems to much work.
so.. if you have the compartiment on the bermuda triangle, will your money disappear?
Hide Valuables In Fake Pipes
My kids tried to do that too, but they just tried to flush things to get them into a pipe rather than make a false wye.
In A Trash Can
Why?? Of all places why the trash can! Come on people my boyfriend always dumps everything out of the trash-can he ironically likes things clean
Secret Place Inside Of A Curtain
This reminds me of a true story. My neighbor was moving in with her son, so she sold all her stuff at a yard sale. Another neighbor bought her den curtains, a little while after the sale ended she realized what had happened. She called my neighbor and ask her to please bring the curtains back. Good thing our neighbor was so understanding. I think it saw several thousand dollars.
I would probably forget that I put something in there if I had that
Finally a use for that weird space in curtain that you're supposed to put the little plastic bar in
It's at the bottom of the curtain, where it's been hemmed. Generally that part is not only thicker than the rest of the curtain, because it's at least two layers, but it falls below the window itself, and does not see much light.
Load More Replies...Magnetic Page Photo Album Hiding Place
This would be a great gift for a college grad. A lovely photo album of their past years and what it took to get where they are and then when they call to ask for money because starting out is tough, tell them to look under the photos.
You could even say something like read the words of wisdom I wrote on the back of said picture.
Load More Replies...Anyone that's had to remove photos from a magnetic album after a few years will know what a crummy idea this is, the money would be completely stuck to the page.
Not a problem, just takes some time.....and if yr in a refuge from disaster you have plenty of time. - just trust me on this.
Load More Replies...Thermometer With A Secret Storage
This is good. NO thief is gonna steal old style thermometer. Even your desperate druggies.
Weeping Willowz what does this have to do with food?
Load More Replies...Um Willowz actually no. Long story short and with changed names : He was in hospital, someone gave him a hot drink, he used the old style thermometer to stir the hot drink. He did NOT realize he broke the thermometer , until the next morning...The poison info line told the nurse, Liquid mercury does not get processed by the human digestive system. ..... but still said to use a spoon next time.
For Weeping Willowz: Mercury thermometers are being phased out. Even some states have banned or restricted the sale of them. There are alternatives.
Don't they use mercury in old style thermometers? The gold hunters would go for it. I hate mercury getting anywheres near my gold. But if they save up enough of it they could use a retort to get it off their gold.
False Bottom Secret Compartment
It needs to be cushioned, you can hear the rambling of the objects hitting the wood every time you open it.
But if you put things up it, then they will think it is these things sound.
Load More Replies...I would think that the drawer would also feel too heavy when you pull it out.
Battery Secret Compartment
I swear I was about to say EXACTLY the same thing
Load More Replies...Not many people use 9 volt batteries anymore. Aa and aaa batteries are more common.
Load More Replies...How much can you hide in a battery? It'd be better to use a car battery, you know, everybody keeps a spare car battery in their living room, right?
first step: give few to no s#!ts about your own safety
Load More Replies...Sliding Fireplace
Some people have decorative fireplaces, they're all over ranches built in the 70's.
Load More Replies...Not always.. some faux fireplaces are just decorative, and some really old houses, the chimney is gone and the owner doesn’t want to restore it, so they have a faux fireplace.
If this were a gas unit that did not require a chimeny it would hide better.

Load More Replies...Computer Secret Compartment
I think thieves might take a whole computer if there's time, also shouldn't the secret compartment blend better?
This would be better for a gamer's candy stash than thief deterrent, imo. XD
Load More Replies...Yes but when your computer has a solid gold power button they are just going to take that sling with your hidden treasures
I have one of these. Not so much secret as a nice place to hold things.
Thieves would just take the whole computer. Especially if it’s worth selling or donating (say, a Mac Mini). I can imagine someone taking the tower apart and putting cash in the machine and then during a robbery, the tower is gone. Yea, bad idea lol
I'm pretty sure thats for a dvd or cd or somthing. Or even printer paper.
Looks like that's to save the thief searching your home...... That's next level delusion.

Load More Replies...Or just takes it to sell at flea market. ... and yes yr desperate druggies will.
Load More Replies...most vacuums are bag-less now and the compartment is see through...so this is a little dated.
A wet-dry vacuum, although bagless, would be perfect if you don’t own a bagged vacuum for this idea. Wet-dry vacuums aren’t see through, and I’ll doubt some thief would want someone else’s dirty shop vac. Just be sure it’s a shop vac that’s not being used, and make sure you clean it before storing whatever in it.
Load More Replies...Well. This won’t work for bagless vacuums as they’re see through and the golden standard nowadays but you can run to your local flea market or goodwill and come across a bagged vacuum and use that for this idea. Just make sure it doesn’t get destroyed, tossed, sold, or donated lol

What if this theif steals the shoes and needs to put in comfort insoles from cvs
did that for a trip to Paris, it's useful as a precaution, so that if your wallet get stolen by pickpockets you're not left with nothing
My son used to do that a lot. I thought he was crazy. Now I do this, lol.
XD That's what I did in high school! I kept a couple bucks in one shoe for emergencies, and a dime in the other, for the pay phone.
Make sure you don't leave metal coins in them if you're at the airlort
Load More Replies...I did that in Istanbul. I pinned my pockets shut w giant safety pins, but I always had enough for cab fare home in my shoe, just in case I got pick pocketed. The locals thought it was very odd, to see my shoes in their front hall w 20,000 Turkish lira ($20 US) inside.

Load More Replies...Belt With A Secret Safe
Money belts are a common item, can be bought in stores. So few people have them, what thief would wait for you to take your belt off?
Load More Replies...This one has only been commonly known to thieves for about 5,000 years.
What if the thief has misbehaving kids and takes that belt to whip them with?
People do this. I was just saying on an earlier photo we found 1000$ tucked into some belts when we were working an estate sale. I get people liking to hide their cash but if you never tell anyone it's there, there's high odds it's going to get thrown out of sold if you die suddenly.
I am not sure what is photoshopped but we have three of those belts, so they exist and look exactly like that inside.

Lololol Yes. ! . And yes some of these would NOT be toddler proof.
Load More Replies...These are all good ideas. But now they are out there, in the internet for everyone, including the thieves to see
My thoughts exactly. Well, they might be not good to hide from thieves anymore, but you can still use them to hide stuff from... Your siblings, for example, or your kids.
Load More Replies...So you've essentially told potential burglars where they should look for things to steal. Good work
I think you need a coauthor for that project. I volunteer.
Load More Replies...I don't understand a point of hiding couple bucks in a keyboard or similar, you will forget that it exists and throw it away on the end.
At first, I agreed with everyone saying that now burglars know where to look. When you actually think about it though a burglar is trying to be in and out relatively quickly so it's not going to check everywhere or everything. It would take hours to check every table, drawer, and other miscellaneous objects on this list.
