I'm sorry but you are ill-informed. there is no "massive use of cute dogs" by the "fake" homeless. There is occasional exploitation of animals among homeless and those posing as homeless, but it doesn't compares to the level of cruelty of pets by the rest of the population.

Hi Maya. While this may be a tactic, I just wanted to let you know that I've worked with a lot of the homeless population in Los Angeles and many of them do rely on their dogs for love and support. I've met many homeless individuals who would beg for money to feed their dogs and even give food off their plate at food shelters to feed their dogs. Many of our homeless populations suffer from abusive childhoods and a wide array of mental disorders and their dogs give them a sense of stability and something to live for. Just wanted to share :) thanks for bringing up your post too. It's always good to be aware! :)

I agree with the above. This is taken in Paris. I've seen him and even have my own photo of him. A first like many people I was suckered in but then learned that the dogs were drugged. And the police do nothing. Disgusting!!! Another example of how photos sometimes lie and how there is a whole other story behind it.

How you know the dogs are drugged? Do you know what it is like to be homeless? Ones in my area are out there with kids . Not dogs and they hang on to there parents all the same. If it is so easy to find the fake ones .,why don't you do something about changing it . Just like there homeless .I was fed up and read and read to see what was really available for me If I worked hard at it .Now I have 2 cats who are 9 an 20 and a 9 yr old Chihuahua so show them the federal government book,let them read on how to better thereselvea..and there pets .But please do not be so hateful on a site where your suppose to look and shhhhhhhh

It is so sad if what induces pity is the dog and not the actual human being. I also prefer to help no matter what. I am sure at some point I helped someone that really needed it.

If this is true (and I have no reason to doubt you), 1) the pic should be removed, and 2) what sick individuals they must be to drug dogs.

we should pity them...and help them. we let in 25,000 refugees into Canada yet we can't seem to clothe, house feed the homeless. Many kids go to school hungry. We are not a third world country, and it is a shame to still be having this going on in our backyards. If they want to be homeless, fine, give them a SIN, all the same luxuries the refugees are getting. Your post should be 'how the hell do we help these people?"

Well, well, well. He wouldn't get any more money from me. All I have is my home, my old clothes and my expensive to keep up (vet bills) dog.

Way to put negativity there. Maybe one person did that you cannot put all homeless into one category just like you cannot put all races into one grouping.
