The subreddit r/Bumperstickers is a community that collects pictures of these small but memorable messages. Whether it’s a clever pun, a political statement, or a bizarrely specific inside joke, its 88K members have amassed quite the collection!

As writer Charles W. McFarlane pointed out, gone are the days of earnest "Coexist" or "Free Tibet" bumper stickers. Nowadays, most are dipped in irony and sprinkled with absurdity.
These new bumper stickers are part of a growing trend of merchandise made as much to be photographed and shared on social media as they are to be absorbed in the real world.
"We're known as the bumper sticker couple now, I’m sure," Brian Gebhart, 32, who, along with his fiancée, Alyssa Walker, 30, runs Frog Mustard—an unhinged sticker and magnet shop—told McFarlane in an interview. They release a handful of new ones each week.

Brian and Alyssa started the company last winter, after he had a mountain biking accident and needed extra money to pay for surgery. They came up with Frog Mustard — a phrase as nonsensical as many of their designs — using a random name generator.
Their shop currently averages around 1,200 orders a month with a stock of about 350 designs, with such hits as: "On my way to get a lobotomy," "I'm pro-sexualizing the green M&M and I vote!" and "Deny, Defend, Depose" (a reference to Luigi Mangione and UnitedHealthcare). The couple describe their selection as "brain rot stickers."

A survey found that American women are more likely than men to have a bumper sticker, by 63 percent to 50 percent.
Southerners are the biggest fans, with more than two out of three slapping at least one on their car in Louisiana, Kentucky, Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee, according to a study conducted by Cheap Car Insurance, a Utah-based comparative services company.
Drivers in the Great Lakes region were the least likely to sport bumper stickers at about 49 percent.

Pro-gun stickers garnered the most negative responses from respondents, with 74 percent thinking that someone who has one must be ignorant, obnoxious, or aggressive.
Bumper stickers that drew the most positive or neutral responses were those that paid tribute to U.S. troops — 51 percent saw it as an expression of opinion or pride, 28 percent thought it was normal or reasonable, and another 9 percent thought it was smart and considerate to display such a design.

However, remember that your bumper stickers follow you everywhere you go, whether that's your company's parking lot, or your daughter's baptism.
Once, when a police officer pulled over Mr. Gebhart for a traffic stop and asked about a sticker that made a crude joke regarding the founding fathers. Mr. Gebhart was tongue-tied!

You can feel the divisiveness holy s**t... So many are looking more for a fight and less an understanding... I would be a hypocrite if I said I don't feel like that about cult stuff, but that is rational at least. The political division tho... Just binary like that? As in sending the message that you have literally nothing in common with a whole other group of people based on some artificial two party system? That is bleak and in dire need of change... Either it is going to be more dialog or it will be fester and bloat...and explode...maybe rot and stagnate...

May i suggest the French famous national pastime of protesting? Don't have to go full guillotine mode...Or even keep up with their 6 protests per month schedule... Just one or two...around the places that create this problem. Whatever made lobbysts an almost unregulated thing? I would start there myself...That has to be at least a "line" you can follow to the root of this problem.That is my personal conclusion... ps: Not saying that the rest of the world is better by any means. Each have their own brand of Fed up systems and politics and cults etc... We could all pick the best parts from each country and culture tho D:

Especially the first few show that there are Americans that are alright. Let's see what the next 4 years bring, and if there is another vote - Trump said on camera a while ago, if he becomes president, US citizens won't have to vote again. I hope the sane and intelligent US citizens will overcome such dreadful possibilities.

I probably wouldn't put any of them on my van either, not these days. I (warily) put a small sticker that says "Successfully Microchipped" on my van after I got my first COVID vax (back in 2020 when everyone was screaming that the government was injecting you with tracking microchips with the vaccine) and I was worried I'd get repercussions even for that (the sticker is like 2" big.) I live in a very blue state, but the city itself that I live in is horrifically red. Then again, my van is 24 years old and pretty jacked up at this point, so what's the worst that someone could do? XD (It's already got a number of scratches, and I have a decal with the Monty Python black knight saying "Tis But A Scratch" next to the worst ones!)

I like to read clever bumper stickers for the entertainment value...they're also a way to express dislike, disdain, dissatisfaction while expressing your smarts at the same time. What's not to like? I don't know how effective they are because their target audience is often too dumb to know THIS MEANS YOU or doesn't get the point in the first place. BTW: I am a lousy parker and I know it. I figure if I am between the lines it doesn't matter if I'm at a 40 degree angle.

Only the 1st ten stickers show on this post - yes my phone is an iPhone, yes it has the most recent update 18.1.2, yes bored panda 2.3.0 update - this app has been acting odd for months not working properly - come on guys update the IT team or let them do their jobs to fix it whatever just get it together
