And why!

#1

I was home alone with my sister before I was home just me.

With my sister, I was 6, my dad was on a business trip, and my mom “forgot the ham”. You may ask why I quoted it, but while we were alone, I found an unopened ham package. Plus, my mom was out for a whole hour. The local Publix was >15 minutes away, if we really did need more ham she’d be back within 30 minutes.

First time I was alone just me, I was 8 and my mom had to pick up my sister from school bc we were in different schools.

First time I remember being left home alone? My mom once left me locked in an apartment for 6 days. Windows and doors blocked or nailed shut. I was 5 or 6. Lost my first tooth and dropped it in a chair. Learned how to heat up food on the stove after about 3 days when the other food ran out. She took my dog with her too so it was kind of boring. I’ve heard that she left me for almost a week when I was a few days old and I almost died but of course I can’t be sure of the details. Left alone with other kids? Age 7. Adults dropped off my new baby cousin fresh out of the hospital and went “out” for a week. Just me and those 3 other kids. We’re all a year apart except for the youngest. That’s how we found out that babies can’t have chocolate milk. Kid is 23 now and it’s no wonder she’s slow.

It doesn't actually count (as you will find out later in the post).

I woke up to only me and my sister being alone in the house. I was like 8-9 and my sister was like 4-5 years old. We didn't know what to do so we went out in our front driveway and stood in front of our garage door contemplating if we we should walk over to our nice elderly neighbors across the street. They were very kind and we played with them often when they tended their yard. My Mother in shock was very upset to find us pajama clad in the freezing cold without a coat or shoes. She had been wrapping Christmas presents in her closet.
