"The Feather Pillow" (El Almohadón de Plumas) is a short horror story by Uruguayan writer Horacio Quiroga. A class in my school chose this story to decorate their classroom for Halloween. They won! Then they gave me the "monster" of the story as a present. I love it! I christened it Horacio. ☺️

Not really a backstory, but I've been feeling really down lately (cue seasonal depression - it's regular depression on roids), and while I was looking for my kids' Christmas presents, I came across this guy. Fell in love. I realized I had never actually owned a mouse stuffie, despite them being one of my favorite critters. And i knew that, as the breadwinner who had just gotten effing fired, I wouldn't be getting any presents myself this year. Which was ok, really. So I went ahead and scooped him up. He's a wonderful listener and gives great hugs.
