If you're a female, you know how annoying "that time of the month" is. I mean, having to change pads and feeling yucky for a week is not ideal, am I right? But everyone has different experiences or different opinions on their periods. So tell me- what's the most annoying thing about your period?

Period poos.
Ugh.

Oh my gosh, I know, right?! It's so hard to wipe your butt clean when you're wiping up blood with every wipe! I literally limit myself to two poos for the entire span of my period xD

The fear of a leak! I’m terrified of it! It happened one at camp and I was so embarrassed!

Yes! I know, every time I stand up in class, I feel like it's going to leak. Sometimes my body tricks me into thinking my inner leg is wet, and I literally freak out!

Oof, I have yet to experience the misery of going on a trip to a beach and being on my period, but I'm sure it's absolutely horrible, so if this is what you deal with, you poor, poor soul. My heart weeps for you <3

I have PCOS and started having hemorrhagic periods almost monthly about two years ago. My uterus is tilted too so I get a lot of back cramps that get really bad. The one thing I hate more than the rest is vaginal cramps though. Those will almost take me to my knees every single time I have one. I will make audible noises and sometimes my face will change colors. My other cramps are almost constant without relief throughout the entire period but the vaginal ones come out of nowhere like 'Surprise MFer'.

I know exactly what you’re talking about. It feels like you’re being jabbed with a knitting needle. And you’re expected to suck it up and go on with your day…😞

I don't know if it's just me, but I get gassy as hell when I'm on my period. That is the bane of my existence.

IKR?! I don't know why it happens, but it's like when I'm on my period, my entire body decides to have problems xDD

Oof, that sounds like torture. Well, just know that it makes you a person of both worlds, making you very special (the second part xD) :)

Cramps!! I was an early bloomer so I got my period at 10. Ever since I got it I would have horrible cramps to the point I can't move and I'm puking. I would say, puking is for pregnancy not periods! (No offense to anyone pregnant) Thankfully I'm on birth control to help now. It's a miracle

Yes, I completely agree! I've not yet had bad cramps, just little annoying pains, kind of like my bladder is full, but it's still unpleasant, so I can imagine that extreme cramps are horrible.

I think the most annoying thing about my period is having to stand back up after sitting for a while. I am absolutely terrified that it's just going to all fall out, even though I know it won't. That doesn't stop me from being afraid. I wonder if there's a term for this fear?

When I'm in the middle of class or presenting something and I get an awful cramp and people are just like 'are you ok'.

Omg I haven't even thought of this possibiltyyyy. now I'm going to have nightmares that I'm presenting and a cramp is just going to make me double over in pain and people are going to call the hospital, and the doctors are going to examine me, and then announce to the world, "It's okay, she's just on her period" and I know that I would love to have periods/talk of periods more normalized, but being raised in a place where it largely isn't, I was conditioned to believe that it would be a nightmare for my period to be announced to the world. Idk I'm a little crazy, I know. Got a strange imagination xDDD

I rarely ever get to see my friends because of the pandemic, and the very few times I get to see them, I ALWAYS have my period. It absolutely sucks. It doesn't hurt, it is just the most inconvenient thing on earth.

I guess that's true too.... sorry I asked, then, I just felt that this (periods/talking about them) is something that could be more normalized, although it is already starting to. Growing up in a household where no one talked about it made me wish I'd have someone to talk to about fears/annoyances about periods, like leakages or cramps, so I thought I would ask here, since it's an open and friendly community. :)

Ugh, mine is so irregular I play a little game called, "so, which day of the month will be hell?". And then when I actually get it, I have to be EXACT with the time I take medicine or else I will puke horrifically. Oh the joys of being a woman :,)

I'm fairly new to the whole period thing (I only just had my first one last year) so they're fairly irregular, meaning I've had maybe a total of five in a little less than a year. Sometimes they're so light, they're literally just a spot of pink on my underwear (yeah, that's right, I said "underwear" *looking at you, boys of high school who are soooooo mature) and sometimes it's heavy, meaning I have to change my pad once a day. So i'm constantly worried that it's going to start one day, and I'm going to be caught unaware, and it's going to be heavy, y'know? But I feel your pain and annoyance about the medicine thing, it sounds like a pain in the butt. or hoo-ha, it this case xDD

I'm not sure if this is normal or not, but every once in a while, either right before or right after, I'm not hungry. Literally. I eat soley because I have to, but I have no desire whatsoever to eat. Then after about a week I'll be starving for a week, then it'll go back to normal.

It's the most annoying thing ever, next to maybe a mental breakdown over NOTHING the day before it starts.

"your basal metabolic rate speeds up just before and during the early part of your period. A slightly higher calorie burn and demand for energy in the days leading up to and the start of code red can also drive hunger." (taken from Google) https://tinyurl.com/hungry-week-before-period I've never experienced a mental breakdown over nothing the day before it starts, but kudos to you for getting through it :)

I stained my pure white school uniform in class. Everyone saw and knew, and the entire time I sat down in my chair :/

And also those leaky water that stains your whole pants for the whole time!

PS I'm currently on my period right now and this page conveniently popped out lol!

Oh noo, that sounds like the worst leakage scenario everrr. I don't know what you mean by "leaky water stains" but i'm assuming that you might mean discharge? If so, yeah, that's annoying too. And I, too, am on my period rn, and that's what prompted me to make this post :)

my skin gets horribly bad the week before my period starts and I'll gain weight (just water weight, no actual fat) but it's rather annoying because I'm trying to loose weight and I never know if it's because I overate or because I'm hormonal.

Oh, wow. I've never experienced this, but I totally get why it annoys you! It's definitely annoying to gain weight when you're trying to lose it, though!

#18

I'll start with the fear that the pads don't work and it shows up on my pants at school, then the cramping misery I can't do anything about, and lastly the constant uneeded STRESS!!!

When I was at school, my friends and I would always do a leak check for each other when we stood up to leave the class.

Very true, both of those statements! Is there anyway to change a title of a post to make it more inclusive?
