Scientific tests also showed that they stress out when separated. They believe that by reducing the stress they will raise their milk yield. But considering cows are herd animals, this isn't really surprising.
Poor thing, it looks cute but in the end they are just held just to amuse humans...
Thats amazing. Nowadays people get pissed off if you say "Merry Christmas" instead of "Happy Holidays" smh
or "happy holidays" instead of "merry christmas." there are a-holes on both ends of the spectrum. i say aim for the middle. you'll never get there but you can get close.
Load More Replies...That's truly amazing that they can have peace for 2 days but then resume to killing each other after that? Humans are interesting.

This is the subject of a song titled, "Christmas in the Trenches" by John McCutcheon. It's probably my favorite Christmas song and it's heartbreaking.
Before resuming killing each other the next day. Stop romanticizing war.
I have heard that for the next few days the soldiers on both sides tended to shoot over the other side's heads ...
... and that in subsequent years the brass kept them 'busy' at Christmas to avoid a repetition.
Load More Replies...It's actually known as the Christmas Armistice. They didn't exactly exchange gifts, as there was nothing to give. But they sang carols, and ate together.
Allegedly one soldier refused to leave the trenches claiming it was a treason. It was Adolf Hitler.
In most cases generals wouldn't allow it but they went ahead any way :D
There's an amazing WWI history project channel on YouTube, called The Great War. They make a short (3-5 minutes I think) about what what was happening on battlefields of World War I exactly 100 years ago, week by week. So now they are somewhere around 1st or 2nd week of 1917 I think. I stumbled upon this channel around a year ago and boy have I hooked up! I never catch up thou as then I got kind of overloaded with history and war information, but I will continue watching one day. Also, they make a lot of side stories, cover notable personas' backgrounds, later they collaborated with some other youtuber, who is a weapon historian and collector and they make long video explaining what was the firearms (pistols, rifles, machine guns, etc) used in the WWI by all of the countries. Then they started to visit some fortresses of the WWI or notable and extant battlefields... So, what I'm saying is that I heard about this fact from one of their videos and it was very detailed and interestin
If you interested in history, history of wars and WWI in particular i highly recommend you go and find their channel on YouTube. It is exceprional and detailed, very well presented, not boring in any way and as far as I can tell not biased or subjective.

I knew of this already. But, I will have to check out the song, no doubt be in tears afterwards. I always say "Merry Christmas", too bad if someone chooses to be offended.

She's such a beautiful and strong person! She exemplifies what inner beauty truly means, and it radiates outwardly!

Many prisons in the US have a program that has select inmates train shelter dogs, some for specific tasks such as disability service dogs. Marked improvement in inmate behavior and outlook have been noted in these programs and, of course, it improves the lives of the dogs involved.
Greyhounds As Pets NSW have a similar program at a women's correctional facility here in Sydney. The inmates help prepare ex-racing greys for life as a pet, teaching them things like how to go up & down stairs, basic obedience, etc. It's great for the dogs, as well as the inmates who can even earn a government-recognised certificate. (Our foster grey participated in this!) :)
In France, the actors who voice Homer and Marge Simpsons are married too : )
I did had no idea about keeping pairs of guinea pigs. I was going on the hamster rule that they fight if they are together. Rest In Peace sweet Coco, I am sorry I did not know. You were so smart. You learned to sqeak when I opened the fridge door so you got a healthy treat.
My boy never made a sound when I pet or fed him during his initial lonely days with me. He became so vocal when I found him a gf. Now he sings, squeaks and hums every few minutes.

I think this is the happiest 'did you know' collection I have seen in a long time! Thank you for making my day! <3
No offense to anyone, but I listened to the whole "Weightless" by Marconi Union. I am not impressed. I've listened to far more superior ambient sounds: Vangelis, 2002, Secret Garden, Tangerine Dream, Steve Roach, Kitaro, Steven Severin... just to name a few. That "fact" might sound like "wow" to people unfamiliar with ambient music, but I am certain it's just propaganda.
I agree. I didn't find it relaxing at all. If anything, I found it annoying and ironically stressful.

We has twin kittens to make sure they always had company while we worked. We don’t like being alone, most animals don’t either. Imagine. :/
Never mind singleton Guinea Pigs, I had no idea there was a 'Queen of England'...on behalf of the other three nations of these islands, American media personnel, crack a book sometime- BRITAIN IS NOT CALLED ENGLAND!!! The title of King/Queen of England has not existed since 1707!
Thank you for understanding Shiraz Qaddoumi. I guess we all need to, (or maybe not all), do more research before purchasing any animal. Whatever the size, breed, etc. I actually did read up about guinea pigs prior & post purchase. Nothing I read mentioned the importance of keeping pairs. This is not meant as an excuse, but this is going back 14 years ago.
