Old or older same thing, it all depends from which angle you are looking at it. If you are in your twenties 47 is old and if you are like me (late sixty ) 47 is young. It's always good to see a mature person taking care of themselves. Unfortunately we don't all have the gene's to be models but that shouldn't stop one been caring and kind to oneself.

Seems like some of you can not see beyond the grey/white hair. His skin is pretty wrinkle free and his pulling a "he" man frown. He's also in shape and by that I mean he is slim, which gets harder to maintain as you get older.

If over 35 is “old” for women, then yes 47 year old men are old. Otherwise start telling 47 year old women they aren’t old. Men do age faster than women after all.

I think it's telling that it's okay for men to go gray at a fairly young age yet so many women feel they must keep dying their hair well into their senior years. I also think that yes these men are all nice looking but most seemed older to me than their ages.

Poohoo. Men and women aren't the same. Haven't figured that out yet? Men are more visually stimulated than women, they demand more. Why? Because that woman is going to conceive, carry and eventually, hopefully, give birth to another human being. Women are more invested in the reproductive process than men are, they spend more of their energy, biologically than men, hence men are more interested in the way a woman looks, her body, because her body creates babies, and should be optimal, youthful. A man on the other hand is attractive to women if he's powerful. Power, provisions, protection, social status, muscle, intelligence, wit and yes to a certain extent, "good looks", but the "looks" category for men is not as high on the woman's list of attractive traits as it is on a man's list. Men's emphasis on female youthfulness and physical beauty is subconsciously, naturally connected in a man's mind, to her ability to carry a baby for nine months and give birth to healthy offspring, hence men don't like grey hair on their women. It signals that her womb, her ovaries, eggs, are gone/"out of service". Post-menopause = No More Babies.

This all seems to suggest that we have a one criteria view of what attractive, physically fit, i did not see any diversity of thought e.g. Steven Fry is attractive because of his intellect, or Rose Marcario ex ceo of Patagonia is attractive because of his environmental actions or Pál Szekeres a para olympic medalist is attractive for his sporting endeavour and physical fitness. So my question is what is it that means these men are attractive as it seems quite a limited view if we just say fit body..

The facial hair and photography angles disguise the aging process of under the chin. That said all are physically fit, and have the same classic look that we define as athletic attractive, perhaps though we could consider that attractive is also personality , experience, this all seems to be a one dimensional view of physique only.

The order is so bad, it is an insult to about half the guys on the list. The concept of older is so far off...47? 50? I would have though approaching social security at least. the bulk of these were middle age. Oh and black and white pictures tend to make people look older as well, so they should have been omitted.

First of all; you have to be above 70+ before being categorised as "elderly/old". A person of 48 years is NOT old. Secondly; these men are styled and pictured in airbrushed photos that would make all people look more flawless. And all that beard makes them look older than they are - I was surprised that some of them was 10-15 years younger than I would have guessed - in their face - their body may be more toned than other men at the same age. My parents are 58 years old and both looks younger than most of these guys.

The majority of them are either very elegantly dressed or have absurdly over-sculpted bodies...which also means what the author finds attractive is a man having a great deal of money. Which is fine, but let's be serious here, you need a whole lotta dough to afford a private physical trainer and Savile Row tailoring. There wasn't a single example of a normal middle class man. Plus, yeah, the facial hair fetish. Not a single man without a bushy ole thing going on. Not to say they're not all spectacularly handsome, but there's some serious socioeconomic prejudice going on. And yes, as many of the commenters mentioned, a few of them would look great for 65, but are oddly aged for 48 or 52. Still, all in all a nice little profile of looking good after 50.....we just shouldn't all leap on the Jerry Garcia bandwagon with regard to grooming habits.

Too much beard, not enough face, at least on most. Sure most of them look quite healthy, but some of them look waaaay older than their real age suggests they should, that's actually kind of sad. Some of them do indeed look like old men, some *very* old men, but aren't even old enough to be my father, much less my grandfather. cannot stand facial hair except the few days growth kind on the right men- some are very handsome- some are gross to me- some are way too buff- not appealing to me at all- late 40's to 55- close to 60 is more easily done- its after 60 it gets tough

Looking at those men, now I understand why people keep saying Keanu Reaves is young for his age. These men look way too old for being around 50, except for the 80 year-old Chinese man. My dad is over 70 and still looks younger than most of them. But of course, the asian genes. I'm Vietnamese. :D

I think it's telling that it's okay for men to go gray at a fairly young age yet so many women feel they must keep dying their hair well into their senior years. I also think that yes these men are all nice looking but most seemed older to me than their ages.

Poohoo. Men and women aren't the same. Haven't figured that out yet? Men are more visually stimulated than women, they demand more. Why? Because that woman is going to conceive, carry and eventually, hopefully, give birth to another human being. Women are more invested in the reproductive process than men are, they spend more of their energy, biologically than men, hence men are more interested in the way a woman looks, her body, because her body creates babies, and should be optimal, youthful. A man on the other hand is attractive to women if he's powerful. Power, provisions, protection, social status, muscle, intelligence, wit and yes to a certain extent, "good looks", but the "looks" category for men is not as high on the woman's list of attractive traits as it is on a man's list. Men's emphasis on female youthfulness and physical beauty is subconsciously, naturally connected in a man's mind, to her ability to carry a baby for nine months and give birth to healthy offspring, hence men don't like grey hair on their women. It signals that her womb, her ovaries, eggs, are gone/"out of service". Post-menopause = No More Babies.

Folks, the headline doesn't say "ELDERLY" it clearly states "OLDER" - and yes, men in their 40s (like myself) are middle-aged, which means we ARE OLDER than half the adults viewing this.

55 is senior discount. I'd start there. But most of these guys do fall into the "silver fox" look. Always been a fan of older men. Women too, are better from mid 20s to mid 40s. Aftwr that it's hit or miss.

This all seems to suggest that we have a one criteria view of what attractive, physically fit, i did not see any diversity of thought e.g. Steven Fry is attractive because of his intellect, or Rose Marcario ex ceo of Patagonia is attractive because of his environmental actions or Pál Szekeres a para olympic medalist is attractive for his sporting endeavour and physical fitness. So my question is what is it that means these men are attractive as it seems quite a limited view if we just say fit body..

The facial hair and photography angles disguise the aging process of under the chin. That said all are physically fit, and have the same classic look that we define as athletic attractive, perhaps though we could consider that attractive is also personality , experience, this all seems to be a one dimensional view of physique only.

The order is so bad, it is an insult to about half the guys on the list. The concept of older is so far off...47? 50? I would have though approaching social security at least. the bulk of these were middle age. Oh and black and white pictures tend to make people look older as well, so they should have been omitted.

First of all; you have to be above 70+ before being categorised as "elderly/old". A person of 48 years is NOT old. Secondly; these men are styled and pictured in airbrushed photos that would make all people look more flawless. And all that beard makes them look older than they are - I was surprised that some of them was 10-15 years younger than I would have guessed - in their face - their body may be more toned than other men at the same age. My parents are 58 years old and both looks younger than most of these guys.

The majority of them are either very elegantly dressed or have absurdly over-sculpted bodies...which also means what the author finds attractive is a man having a great deal of money. Which is fine, but let's be serious here, you need a whole lotta dough to afford a private physical trainer and Savile Row tailoring. There wasn't a single example of a normal middle class man. Plus, yeah, the facial hair fetish. Not a single man without a bushy ole thing going on. Not to say they're not all spectacularly handsome, but there's some serious socioeconomic prejudice going on. And yes, as many of the commenters mentioned, a few of them would look great for 65, but are oddly aged for 48 or 52. Still, all in all a nice little profile of looking good after 50.....we just shouldn't all leap on the Jerry Garcia bandwagon with regard to grooming habits.

Too much beard, not enough face, at least on most. Sure most of them look quite healthy, but some of them look waaaay older than their real age suggests they should, that's actually kind of sad. Some of them do indeed look like old men, some *very* old men, but aren't even old enough to be my father, much less my grandfather. At any rate, they love themselves, and that's all that matters in this crazy world, I suppose.
