Long hair, don’t care, they say. A slogan made famous by the hippy movement, dismissing perceived prudish and conservative attitudes of previous generations, made it to the radar of today’s men.
From football players, Hollywood actors, members of various subcultures to anyone really, most guys seem to have pulled off long locks at some point in their lives. And while many came to the conclusion that long hair is not for them, others stuck with it for many years to come.
But this post is about the former ones who decided it was time to bid farewell to their luscious locks and have their hair trimmed. So let's see how they did in these cute transformation pictures below!

Long hairstyles for men are becoming an ever more frequent sight. As the lockdowns around the world are finally eased, the amount of guys coming out of their homes with long luscious hair has exponentially increased. After all, it was a perfect opportunity to challenge your inner long-haired Brad Pitt and see if you get any "oh, this looks quite good actually"-kinda compliments.
Bored Panda talked to Dovile Osia, an experienced hair stylist and colorist based in Vilnius, Lithuania who said that long hairstyles are becoming more and more popular. “I believe it has to do with fading gender lines, since the haircuts are no longer divided into 'female' and 'male.'”
Dovile also noticed that if a man opts for a long haircut, it’s quite hard for him to part with it. “For many men, long hair becomes their signature style,” the hair stylist explained.

The benefits of long hair are that it's super versatile, meaning you can wear it down, in a bun, braided… the possibilities are endless! On the other hand, the effortlessness of a long haircut is often just an illusion.
Not only do men who wish to let their hair down require regular cuts and care, they also need to spend more time on that. Think of blow-drying your hair and putting on a regular nourishing mask… it’s not for every woman, let alone a man!
“Long hair requires way more care than short cuts simply because hair’s beauty is not just its length. There’s no point in walking around with long but shabby hair with no shine,” Dovile stated. When asked which men look best with long hair, the hair stylist said that there are no rules. “If a person looks and feels good with one or the other hair, it means that cut definitely suits them.”

According to Joe Mills, there’s never been a better time to consider a longer hairstyle. “It’s really diverse at the moment with longer hair. You’ve got guys with hair flowing down past their shoulders through to guys with seventies Bowie-style cuts with short fringes.”
Mills explained that “People first started moving towards a softer, Stone Roses-style look, and it went from there. You always have a phase where everyone’s having sharp, short haircuts, then people buck the trend and it starts to filter through.”
Most importantly, you gotta remember that long hair is really more about the attitude than about the look. No wonder so many men and women opt for shorter cuts instead, as they often require less effort and fit a wider range of people.

You need to break up the length created by the height of your hair swoop, and your naturally long face( nothin* wrong with having a long face) because the two together exaggerate the total long- ness. Just pull down a couple of whispies onto your forehead( think Elvis) and you will be good to go!

I remember the day I went from thick shoulder length Hansen style hair to a crew cut. I got home and one of the neighbor kids asked who I was. She was told, and then asked again "No... , who is that 👉" pointing at me.

I never knew that you could donate your hair to charity. Now I feel bad, because when I chopped of my long hair I just put it outside for the birds to use in their nests.

Oh man, I wish I knew how to add pics to this. I once had hair down to my butt. I aways said that when I started to lose it (because I knew it was going to happen due to genetics) I was going to shave it all off. And thats what I did. Went from full head of long hair to smooth as a cueball and had the cuttings donated to add to the hairpieces for kids that lost their hair to chemo.I didnt wanna be running around sporting a skullet. I miss my hair. I miss feeling the cool, Autumn wind blowing through it, when the leaves are falling from the trees. I miss having it hold the scent of earth and woodsmoke and the harvest. But I think my wife likes bald better. She has told me that Yul Brenner is her secret boyfriend.😉

Great transformations! Although some of the comments saying stuff like “Now you’re a man!” Kinda ruined it. Like bruh having long hair doesn’t make you some kind of sissy.

The problem with most of the guys with long hair is that they don’t keep it shaped and styled. The short cuts are with product and freshly styled. So of course the long hair looks sloppy. And I love guys with long hair, hate the pseudo military look that’s in style these days.

I love long hair on men, so sad. My husband gets his hair cut once a year and I can't watch. We are really good friends with our hair stylist and she was like "Girl, you are making me feel like I am doing a bad job." I responded, "You know in Sin City where the therapist holds up the stub of her hand and screams 'He made me watch' when the dude eats her hand in front of her?" My friend was like "Yeah." I told her is was pretty much the same thing. After we all stopped laughing she told me she was going to cut it extra short for making fun of her skills.
