It seems no one can wrap their heads around the fact their favorite show is over after eight seasons. We are aware it left many people disappointed and therefore are not surprised at all fans immediately took upon improving the show in their own different ways. Some had the last season reimagined, some had some of the cast changed.
Actress and comedian took to the next level though by recasting all the major characters in the show with her friends, explaining that while she loved the show, it never felt like it was made for her. This imaginary recasting with people of color made her better resonate with the show.
Lots of people agreed the show lacked diversity, it's only major character of color being Missandei, played by Nathalie Emmanuel and contributed to the thread by making their own suggestions. Scroll down to see what they came up with!

Idris Elba As Jaime Lannister
nobody needs to see that much skin (second pic). even me, when part of my username is imwatchin
Giancarlo Esposito As Little Finger
I agree, his character in Breaking Bad was even more manipulative than Littlefinger
Load More Replies...i havent seen this show, i like marvel more, but doesnt it look like doctor strange and baron mordo?!
Chadwick Boseman As Jon Snow
But Jon Snow knows nothing and black panther knows alot. Otherwise I think it fits.
In the books Jon Snow wasn't short... though he was pretty
Load More Replies...Zoe Kravitz As Margery Tyrell
She's the daughter of Lisa Bonet (The Cosby Show) and Lenny Kravitz.
Load More Replies...if she opened her eyes more, they would have the same intensity
Keith David As Tywin Lannister
Jeffrey Wright As Varys
Denzel Washington As Eddard Stark
You have to put it into context of the books and when and what they were based around. The characters created by George R. R Martin were based around Medieval Europe so to him no diversity is really needed in the books at all.
Load More Replies...Kerry Washington As Cersei Lannister
I could see Angela Basset as the Tyrell Grandmother too, both badass women
Load More Replies...Daniel Kaluuya As Theon Greyjoy
Michael Kenneth Williams As Ser Bronn Of The Blackwater
Morgan Freeman As Aemon Targaryen
Leslie Jones As Brienne Of Tarth
Of course it has to be Leslie Jones! How many other actresses – white OR black – are as big of a giantess as Gwendoline Christie?
Winston Duke As Tormund Giantsbane
The are Vikings! Let's not forget GOT is based of actual battles and senarios of Medievil Europe.Yes,some charachters would have been fine to recast ,but this one? Nope.
Also the wildlings bear little to no resemblance to Vikings with the sole exception of living in a northern place. Vikings travelled, raided, traded, conquered and settled civilisations from North America to the Levant. The wildlings are nothing like that advanced or successful.
Load More Replies...Lakeith Stanfield As Robb Stark
Marsai Martin As Lyanna Mormont
But lets not detract from the amazing job ,the young actress who actually played the part (or any of the brilliant cast) did.
Michael Ealy As Ramsay Bolton
Tessa Thompson As Daenerys Targaryean
Lupita Nyong'o As Melisandre
they have the same aura, but they don't really seem too similar
Angela Bassett As Catelyn Stark
So I get the age appropriate, but a waste of Angela's breadth of talent.
Amandla Stenberg As Arya Stark
Amandla is a firecracker in real life, so I think she could be great.
Zendaya As Ygritte
Sterling K Brown As The Night King
You don't waste talent like Sterling K. Brown, on a role that a stunt man filled.
Cicely Tyson As Olenna Tyrell
Cicely Tyson has gotta be like 90 by now, but she looks like she’s only 50 in this picture! Olenna Tyrell needs an actress who’s not aging quite so well.
John Boyega As Gendry
Letitia Wright As Meera Reed
Tracee Ellis Ross As Lyssa Arryn
Yara Shahidi As Sansa Stark
Mahershala Ali As Ser Jorah Mormont
Oh hell no. Mahershala Ali is too refined and kind of pristine-looking for this role.
Bryshere Gray As Joffrey Barratheon
Djimon Hounsou As Jaqen H'ghar
Djimon Hounsou As The Mad King Aerys
Jaden Smith As Bran Stark
Nope. I wouldn't want this daft kid to be king of the seven kingdoms.
He's still young though, it can take time to develop real acting chops. It's not like Will Smith was a great actor at that age.
Load More Replies...Billy Porter As Oberyn Martell
considering the sexual fluidity.... I think this one is perfect! Though he would have to seriously work out to pull off the fighting
Load More Replies...Rihanna As Ellaria Sand
Chiwetel Ejiofor As Tyrion Lannister
Chiwetel Ejiofor is 5'10". Now if you want to really cast Tyrion try Tony C*x.
Tyrion is perfect just as he is..... you need someone small enough and yet with the presence to pull this off...
WOW. That's one gorgeous cast. I would watch it in a heartbeat. Who said GOT needs to be white??? (BTW, I am "white" and just can't see all the hoopla about white/black characters)
I am white (which kinda matters here) and I liked many of the original actors (the Greyjoys especially), but I still would give the idea of black GoT a shot at watching.
What's the point of this post? All I see here is a bunch of random color actors paired with GoT characters. I don't see any sense. Without any concrete description or justification of this and no other choice of actors. I still do not know why this article was made. Is it the response to this drama with black Ariel? May someone enlighten me, please?
It's thinly veiled racism. But since it's racism towards white people it's a double standard and most people will laugh it up as a joke. Just imagine someone re-casting Straight out of Compton or The Black Panther or Precious and the public outrage it would cause.
Load More Replies...Yeah, because people in the northern hemisphere are really known for being black... Seriously, I really like diverse actors in my movies. But in Westeros, people get darker the further south you go. Just like on earth. And unlike earth, Westeros does not have a history of slave trade, it’s forbidden actually. Nor did they have big migrations involving the south. So how could the Westerosi be black? And it being based on an amazing, beloved and quite famous novel made in practically impossible to just change the geography at will.
"it never felt like it was made for her". Oh is that so? So you have to see people with your skin color to identify with a show/character? I thought resonating with a fictional character was about ther personality, traits and imperfections. Not about their appearance....
Exactly. It's sad to see that for some people it's their skin color that defines them, not personality.
Load More Replies...Agree with most. Utterly pointless post. So what?! Who bloody cares?! And yet if I dared do the same for a magnificent film like "The Colour Purple" or a sitcom such as "Empire", I'd be public enemy number one. There's a line to be drawn between favouring diversity and just opposing white people as a matter of principle. This post is frankly racist and ought to be removed!
I don't like"The Color Purple" or "Empire", so knock yourself out. Actually, a white recasting of "Empire" would be fun which is all this is.
Load More Replies...If I tried to re cast people of color as white people there would be a riot and i’d Get arrested but it’s fine for people of color to do this to us because ummm it just is I guess
This is the laziest and most pointless entry I've ever seen on BP
If this is truly about diversity, why is she re-casting even the Dornish characters, who are already represented by POC actors? They're not black so they don't matter? Westeros may be a fantasy world, but it still has climate zones, so it makes sense the Westerosi would be white. The further south you go in "Planetos" (the fandom's name for the world of ASOIAF), the darker skinned the people become. In the books there are more POC characters, but the show cut them out.
