No other animal but a dog is known to be called man’s best friend, and not without reason. Since the domestication of the canine around 15.000 years ago, the descendant of the wolves has been of great help to our ancestors - they were there when a hunt commenced, they were there to guard and even to keep the children warm in harsh winters. Their loyalty and intelligence have won a spot in every human's heart.
As smart and competent as the cute dogs might seem, things took an unexpected turn in the long line of evolution with some of these specimens. If a dog used to help in hunting for food, then now some smartass pooch might get in the habit of eating drywall, and if our ordinary mutt's ancestors were relentless guardians, some cute puppy would rather turn into a couch potato when danger ensues. We here at Bored Panda have collected such units, and you wouldn’t believe how weird dogs can be. From napping with a pack of sausages to getting stuck in a chair, we are sure that their wolf forefather wouldn’t be too happy with these silly dogs.
Sure, you can write off this weird behavior to a momentary loss of judgment on the funny dog’s part, but we do believe that these pooches did their acts on purpose just to make us laugh. After all, if they don’t have to earn their spot by hunting, they can at least make us happy with their silliness, right? Had a dog once who, every time she was left alone, would drag a loaf of bread and can of tuna into her crate and hide them under her mattress. We'd had this dog from 12 weeks old, she'd never wanted for anything, and she never ate the food, just wanted to hoard it just in case. German Shepherd. Strongest argument I've ever seen for reincarnation. In which life had she experienced starvation and the need to hoard food?

Reminds me of my dog Jack. We got him in the middle of winter in MN no way he could bury anything in the ground, so I created a digging box for him to hide his chewy in. I used a box and a bunch of rags and socks. He loved it.

This can be a sign of cognitive decline in elderly dogs: Doggie Alzheimer's. My 14 year old Westie gets lost like this sometimes, usually in the late afternoon (like sundowning). It distresses me far more than him, and eventually he comes out of it on his own. OR.... maybe some bugs are having a party in your wall.

When I have had a dog do that they are sulking - you've missed something they wanted to do with you or have from you. My dog sulked like this when my sister and I were talking instead of playing with her. We had been but then had the audacity to stop.

Yup. this happens. It's why I had to stop buying soap at Lush that was made with real honey and smelled delicious enough to... well... EAT. Came back from work one day.. the only thing left of the soap was the decorative beeswax "rind" they put on the soap. The dog ATE THE WHOLE THING... and was somehow fine...

She is trying to cool off! My husky doesn’t Like to sleep on a bed - he‘ll even chose the Hard bathroom tiles over the wooden floor, Just because it‘s cooler. Get her a cooling mat! There is some kind of jelly in it, which had a cool feel to it. You can get them in Most pet Stores or at a physiotherapist.

There's a FB page called Disapproving Corgis. My favorite poster is a woman named Elissa whose corgi is a potato hoarder. She calls them "potato friends". They're tucked up all safe in bed like puppies! The other day she discovered there are more potato friends around the house than she ever thought LOL
