Getting your guests to honor the most ridiculous dress code is easy. If you lie to them.
Making a wedding work is easier than making a marriage work. True, you still have to compromise, but it involves a lot more cake.
Nothing is as real as a ring accompanied with the words "till death do us part."
Wedding photos and photobombing go together better than groomsmen and awkward speeches.
Wedding DJs are a great way to add spice to any reception and break a few of your grandparents' limbs.
Wearing white to a wedding isn't the only way to make enemies with the bride.
Photographer: "Okay, everyone say 'Cheese', and Buddy will take the photo." Me: "Fetch!" *dog runs off*
If everyone took their duties as responsibly as a best man does, the economy would reach its peak before that one uncle gets wasted.
Wedding ceremony seating basics: you are where you belong. And if you're surrounded with children who are at least 20 years young, you are where you belong.
I invited a man, his wife and son to our wedding. They asked if their other son and his girlfriend could come. Reluctantly we said yes. It turns out no one in that group showed up. Oh and they never called with an explanation or apology. We should have sent them a bill especially after asking to add two more people to the party. Grrrrr!
There's a fine line between a reasonable woman and an emotional wreck who has no regard for human life, and it's called a wedding.
Everyone at the wedding may be looking at her, but she will be looking at you and only you
Kevin Hart knows that every family's history book begins with a wedding photo.
The perks of marrying someone involve having a person to split your life mistakes with.
This meme I s the best one. My wife and I have been happily married for 18 years. We spent a pittance getting married and are still blissfully together. Ironically nearly all the weddings we’ve been to have ended in divorce and they spent a fortune on them. What a waste of money. I like to gloat about this. Marriage is about the love between two people all the rest is just filler. Yes it should be a special day but it doesn’t need to be expensive. Alas a lot of people or shallow, obsessed with status and are materialistic.
I got married within a week or two of a work colleague. Mine was a simple, low cost affair with only immediate family and best friends. There's was a massive, expensive do that was of course described as 'the best day of their lives'. They didn't make it a year. Still with my husband after 10 years.

If someone has an expensive wedding, 9/10 it isn’t even a fraction of “all their money.” I do think super expensive weddings are dumb, but spending a few grand on the biggest party you’ll ever throw isn’t a big deal if you have savings and careers and parents helping.
People frequently spend more money than they have on weddings - borrowing to achieve the 'wedding of their dreams'. My eldest sister had a fairly big expensive 'dream' wedding. She says it all seems a blur now, that she didn't get to talk to everyone she wanted (but several she didn't) and couldn't remember the food they had. It might also not be the biggest party you'll ever throw either. People always think their marriage will last, of course, but when around 50% don't survive that's not great odds to be spending thousands on. It's usually the number of guests that cause the costs to rocket so if you don't know someone that well why on earth do you want them to be at your wedding? It's a very personal thing to do - declare your love and commitment to each other. I think people forget it's a marriage first and foremost.

My husband and I had each done the big wedding before, so we decided to just have fun. We sent party invitations, rented a pontoon boat with a grill in back, had hamburgers, salads, and a sheet cake. Everyone was required to wear proper attire—jeans or shorts. We had a great time, and we’re still married and crazy as ever after 20 years!
That is one thing which I really do not understand. So many preparations, so many - let's say it - wasted money - just for one day. What do you have from it? Crowds of disliked family members which you just HAD to invite, tons of stress and bunch of awkward photos. Also, few quarrels with your family and a huge hangover, if you're particularly unlucky. Yet, people feel *obligated* to throw a big party. Really, what is so wrong in small dinner and/or dancing with only friends and closest family members? Is that a reason to be ashamed?
It's a nice day for a white wedding, until you realise you've gone over budget.
I bet this couple went to a pizza place on their first date.
If you want to marry someone you've known for a week, fly to Vegas. If you want to wait for the perfect person in the perfect place on the perfect day with a perfect perfect... Good luck.
Wedding etiquette rules: the bride is always right. Also, the bride is always right.
Expectations and reality tend to differ. Especially during weddings.
The best guests are those who bring more guests. More guests who run around without their pants and smell like poop.
Is everyone in the wedding business a thief? Or is every thief in the wedding business?
If you fear you look bad in front of the wedding photographer, believe them when they say that they've seen a lot worse.
Mum can either lump it or stay away. Or maybe I'm just not that close to my parents.
Cake can transform a bad wedding into a good one. And a good one into the perfect one. And the perfect one into... You knew where this is going, don't you? Cake.
same when pics of pregnancy start to pop up in timeline. "unfriend"
My wedding is in 1 week and we only spent $5,000 which is a lot of money for us. With all the drama and c**p planning I really wish I went with my groom's idea for the courthouse....
I'm really sick of Bored Panda trimming down threads after a few hours. There were 112 items here, and I enjoyed them enough to scroll through them all. People who come late to the show have no choice but to stop at 30. Why? (screenshot: https://pasteboard.co/I11ONvf.png )
Yeah. I love this site but when they trim it down by over 50 items which happens quite a bit, it gets a bit annoying...

I get the feeling that there is a keeping up with the Jones mindset, and playing one upsmanship to all of this wedding planning. A wedding should not be a competition and people should not brag about the its opulence or the amount of money spent.

Same, except, there used to be more. Like, 82 more. BP trimmed the post after 3 hours.

Every wedding? none of this happened at most of the weddings I've been at!
I've never not related to anything harder than I have most of these pictures.
