Studying in college is an experience of a lifetime and only people who went to college really know what it's like.
To celebrate how wonderful college is, Bored Panda has put together a list of hilarious memes that every student will relate to. From sleepless nights to the annoying group projects to partying for a week straight - we've pretty much summed up life in college in this one list. Keep on scrolling to check it out and don't forget to vote for your favorites.

sad really, but you need to study in place where you can get a job! i'm crazy about history. I'm a history nerd guy, BUT i know i'd probably never get a job in it. So i study in computer, i get a job in IT and still have fun with history. it's important to work in a place you love, but more important is study where you could find a job too.

Load More Replies...I used to have a shirt that said "Yes I have a degree. Now, would you like paper or plastic?" To my job bagging groceries, after I got my degree.
You forgot add the 5th wedge: carrying the dead weight who woke up just 2 hours before the presentation.
Wow, this was so me in high school and varsity. I don't hate people but I hated group work. I swore to never work with people again because I pretty much had to do 80% of the work. Little did I know that in the work environment I will have to work with people. I regret not using my time at varsity to learn to work well with other people, because even today I still want to work on my own, as if I know everything.
I ONCE got into a group project where three of us were adamantly refusing to be included in a group to do it all alone (for this very reason) and then a lone fourth person who was distraught because they had been left out of groups which capped at four. Our professor forced us all into a group. It ended up being great--we broke up the project into four whole interconnecting pieces, and then did not talk to each other at all. The 4th person volunteered for the least-needed section and ended up handing out all the worksheets because they didn't complete their part (*of course*), and the rest of us went into our crazy "I have to carry the weight of the world" mode on our sections. A+ the professor was blown away. Sometimes your people find you. <3
Now that I am in my 30s and I have gone back for my grad degree I see every group project as a leadership challenge, try out different techniques... because in the "real world" it is just as bad. Group projects really do prepare you for what you will deal with as a professional.

In college while working on a group project, I anticipated my team to fail miserably which they did. I ended up producing my own project on the side and presented it as a group -.-

i once refused a partner in chemistry ( medical engineering university ), after being forced to work with him i sent him to the teacher to get some anhydrous water, teacher nodded and let me do the project on my own
OK, I did have to look up anhydrous water. That was awesome!
Load More Replies...Having to do group projects has to be the lamest way to learn anything. If you do learn anything from this it's that working in a group is going to suck! You will always wind up with at least one person in that group who is going to leave all the hard work for you while they skate in on your work! UNFAIR! They should stop doing this.
I teach English as a foreign language. Here's an actual response on a final exam. Question: Why is it important to protect the diversity and originality of rainforests? Answer: “It is important to protect the diversity and originality of rainforests. We must protect the diversity and originality of rainforest to make sure environment balancing. Rainforests is the habitat and living place of animals and plants. If we didn't protect the rainforests, the living place of wild animal and plants will be destroyed yet caused they lose their habitat. Besides, we need to protect the diversity and originality of rainforest because the rainforest contain various species of plant than can be used of medicine.” I now inform my students that repeating the question or certain words over and over will not count toward the 60 word requirement.
500 words is about a page and a little bit. you struggling to write a page you got bigger problems
“You wasted $150,000 on an education you coulda got for $1.50 in late fees at the public library.”
oh yes! This IS sooo true :D haha But, as a surprise, I can still witness this at work! Whyyy.... Why?.
Bc you are supposed to make an appointment, show up and talk in person.
Stage1: "Ok, doesn't sound bad..." Stage2(5 minutes later): I'll just pretend that I listen and understand. But mind you, I don't get a word and I f**kin' hate this subject. Stage 3(15 minutes later): "I'll never be able to graduate... Meh, that teacher's hopeless anyway, I'll just read that book I've been struggling to find time to read(due to ahem, ahem, my "small amount of homework") for the last three months..." Stage 4: "They should hire him as a babysitter, no matter whether you listen and watch him or not, the moment he enters the room you start falling asleep and yawning. Snore." P.S. I was something like that in my first two classes this morning. 25 minutes before the end I was snoozing with my head supported in a standing position only by my hands.
Haha! That description of the fourth stage had me dying of laughter 😂
Load More Replies...There is actually a not-so-funny side note to this issue. Universities nowadays struggle with the fees of publishers, public funding agencies demand open access publishing, and high prices for literature are one factor for developing countries to struggle with keeping pace with the needs for education. His sad face pretty much underlines this, though. :)
ah yes; but I suspect that this young man should not have any problem getting a job - assuming he gets decent grades.
Ha, Ha! That is so true. The text books the change a few things in the book the entirety remains the same and then you cant sell back your $200 Biology book.
Oh they'll buy it back for $9 and then sell it used for $185
Load More Replies...It's a scam. They literally come out with new editions pretty much every year now, only changing a couple words, or adding tiny paragraphs.

ROFL! Funniest extra credit I’ve seen ! Wrong triangle doesn’t exist in math world! (I’m a math&physics major)
Maybe the square was the "wrong triangle" but I don't think this is college, and how does this make you cry? Just saying
You'd be surprised what you can find. I probably have 25% of my engineering textbooks in PDF form. Just last night I found a PDF for a book on vehicle dynamics. Also another pro-tip: ask if international editions are fine. My linear algebra/diffeq book was $150 at the bookstore, but I ended up paying $25 because I got an international edition. Exact same book.
Hahaha, so did a friend... it was in Japanese! But it WAS only $20.
Load More Replies...It's been done but sadly it's already closed :( RIP library.nu the page that made hundreds of people in poor countries do their thesis
My university actually had a book bank where students could check out text books for the entire semester and return them back after exams :)
Most community colleges where I live do that, but the books are very hard to get. Many people call in favors. Someone actually tried to take a book out of my hands once for someone who called on the phone. The other librarian gave her a dirty look & let me have the book anyway. It was the last one available at 8:05 a.m., checkouts started at 8 & there was still a line that wrapped around the building. I also had to meet certain criteria to qualify. Craziness!
Load More Replies...Professors in Germany usually provide either their own textbooks for a few bucks or a written summary of the content of the subject. I could buy all material I needed for less than 10-20 € each semester.
I mean, why take notes on something that isn't?

O'Connell, sadly many universities require students to purchase their own textbooks with brand new bar codes. They are not allowed to buy used textbooks. However, my daughter went to community college and bought/resold all of her books used online.
You simply haven't learned the tricks of the trade. If it's mathematics or chemistry or physics, nothing has changed in decades. Odds are that the curriculum was developed around an earlier edition of the textbook anyway. Buy the previous edition of the text online for $3. I must have done this a dozen times on the way to my degree.
Wow, does seriously everyone struggle with getting over word limit? I struggle with getting under!
yours is better, i will probably click the space bar twice to make it 3000
I hated the word count thing. It should be the content of the matter now the quantity!
As long as you remember to DELETE IT LATER then this can actually be super helpful to just get started on a thing
Funny thing is, when you get the experience, you look on college graduate's 'knowledge' like high schoolers thinking they 'know everything now that they graduated'.
When attendance counts in your grade... anything becomes school clothes.
O girl.. I wear pyjama pants while during a quick grocery run.. Make also MISHA
Haha I wore pj's to school most of my final year. I'd get up at 7.50, stuff a bra in my backpack, maybe some normal clothes, put some shoes on, cycle to school and be in class by 8.15. Get changed or at least put a bra on in the first break, go hunting for breakfast and voilà. My pj's weren't unobtrusive either, they were baby blue, massive, and had winnie the pooh on them with 'Sleepy time' in font size 40.
I can relate to this on a highly personal level even though I haven't even graduated high school, is that bad?? 😬 the answer is no, i am willing to sacrifice my sleep for trash shows
But are you will to sacrifice sleep for homework that is due in 6 hours?

Lol my 5th grade teacher did this. It was amazing. Also, we pretend that the young teachers' water bottles are actually filled with alcohol. Don't know how this was created, but its hilarious. They literally all have humongous water bottles and we have no idea why. It's just a thing.

College: years of debt, no job guarantee for most. Sheep herder: no debt, fresh air, nice co-workers, possibly more income. Hmmmm.
Caring for a herd of sheep is like babysitting 60, 20 month olds in dirty diapers at once. Sheep are stupid critters.
Load More Replies...Seriously folks, careers in agriculture are really incentivized because generally they don't get young people's attention as a career option. You can write poetry all day watching sheep, listen to english lit audiobooks in the cab of a tractor, then sleep at night knowing that your job actually had a purpose.
Speaking as a man who has often herded sheep in Iceland, it's very seasonal work, mostly done by friends and family of the farmer or farmers in question. I helped my aunt and uncle get in the last sheep before winter last year, and got paid with an entire lamb carcass. You'd do better at a dairy farm. I know that if was just a throwaway gag but but having done the obscure thing in question I had to involve myself.

If you want to do this yourself, all you need is a solution of 70% alcohol and 30% water. You soak the money in it, then light it on fire. The alcohol on the surface burns quickly, and the cold water is enough to protect the paper from igniting during that time. But remember, safety first (even wizards need safety glasses).

It just occurred to me that there aren't school pictures in college. I bet this is why.
I got my test scores back, the points total was an F. Prof asked were there any questions, a student commented that one question confused her. Prof looked at the question, realized that she marked the wrong answer. I got it right, so I got an extra 0.5 points which was enough to raise my mark for a D. Felt like I was brought back to life.
Now that colleges have been pricing themselves out of the market, thanks to government run/guaranteed student loans, the biggest benefactor will be the technical schools, where young people will be able to learn a worthwhile skill. And it will cost them a lot less money in the process.
And medical degrees. Nurses will always be in demand and theirs a huge shortage going on right now.

Textbook costs are absurd, but thinking that a textbook needs to be used in class is equally absurd; oftentimes, a text is chosen to assist or compliment your learning, not duplicate class time. If you choose not to read it, why waste the $ on it in the first place?

"the walking debt" ahah. This is a great photo. I wish everyone to finish college. https://www.wellesley.edu/ or https://www.amherst.edu/ does not matter. The main thing is that every student lived this. These noisy parties, sleepless nights, the first bad marks. Those moments when you unconsciously took a walk for a whole week, and then rushed to order a homework at https://writingpaper.org/. College time is my favorite. Of course it's important to get the right skill. What would then take their place in this country. IT specialty is now the most popular and profitable. And colleges where they give this knowledge are not very expensive.
I went to university in Barcelona and boy was it different! We barely had to buy any books, and most of the books we did buy were self-published by the university so they were usually about 10€ each. What teachers did instead of forcing us to buy huge textbooks was create a dossier with a selection of all the relevant chapters, segments, etc. for the class and then the university would sell spiral-bound copies of the dossier to students (not too sure about how legal that is...). The materials for each class could go from 3€ to 15€ more or less. We saved money and didn't have to lug around giant textbooks. I studied translation and interpreting, so really the only expensive thing we had to buy were the technical bilingual dictionaries (ranging from 45€ to 120€). The fees were reasonable, too. About 600€ per academic year, depending on how many classes you took. I studied during the years 2002 - 2007.
This afternoon I'm going to go and light a candle as thanks for living in a country that has (almost) no tuition fees.
