We all fail to communicate things to each other on a daily basis. And you may think it comes down to cultural or personality differences, but it doesn't. Family members, couples, school friends, and colleagues fail to communicate their intentions as if they met yesterday.
So when you tell your sibling it’s OK to eat half of your grapes, don’t be surprised to find their other halves chilling in the fridge. Sometimes it’s intentional and results in "malicious compliance," other times it’s purely accidental.
Bored Panda has put up a compilation of the most absurd and hilarious incidents of people taking stuff too literally. Maybe those who gave these instructions will watch their words next time—better clear than sorry!

Asked My Daughter To Lean Against The Pole For A Picture
Best One Today
It’s no secret that some people communicate their thoughts and motives way better than others. But much of the miscommunication happens due to inability to express what we really want to say. So how do we make others understand us better? Well, there are some things we could work on.
First of all, think first and only then speak. According to Psych Central, before starting a conversation, you should ask yourself what its purpose is and make it clear to yourself. Only when you know what you want to say will the other person be able to get you.

A Friendâs Daughter-In-Law Was Told To âCover Upâ While Feeding Her Baby, So She Did
Why was she asked to cover up? Stupid people. If you can't handle breast feeding, than just don't look
Don't look at something that you dont like, instead of complaining and trying to get it banned? Revolutionary concept. Think it could work on the internet as well?
Load More Replies...I see the cover up or not cover up question concerning public breastfeeding as a matter of choice. My personal level of modesty would prompt me to cover up, but that would be my choice. Other people can also chooseâ-to look away. Breastfeeding isnât sexual or gratuitous (fetishism aside), itâs maternal. But above all, itâs a choice.
While I agree that breastfeeding IS a choice, it's also how mammals have fed their young since the dawn of time. The fact that this issue even comes up in this day and age is foolish.
Load More Replies...Ask stupid questions expect to get a stupid response. If you have an issue with breastfeeding in public then look away.
People have no problem with bathing suits that consist of 2 bandaids and a hockey puck but scream over breastfeeding.
Ah, but that's different! A woman in a skimpy bathing suit is pleasing men, as she's supposed to do! /sarc
Load More Replies...I've waited tables, and I've seen people that cover and those who do not.. I'm a woman so I couldn't care less cover or don't.... this won't be popular to say, and I'm sure my comment will be hidden... However, I've noticed the people that don't cover were more rude or demanding.. basically everything was about them.. so I was thinking... maybe the people that don't cover up, really just don't care if they make others uncomfortable... maybe they really want the attention. Those that did cover up were thinking of feeding their child and thinking of other people feelings, incase they made others uncomfortable. just my own experience....
Ugh seriously!! Rhetorical question: Would you prefer us to feed our babies bottle so that you can continue with your over-sexualized concept of a boob?
There's a lot of hate towards this mother, and comparison to people peeing, ejaculating, etc in public. Unlike of those things I just listed, this isn't unsanitary. Babies NeeD milk to survive. Also, breasts weren't created to be sexual (like people's underparts). They're mammary glands, and they're made to breastfeed. If you're in a situation where you're around somebody breastfeeding, you could politely ask them to cover up, but be aware that they are allowed to say no.
With all the s**t going on in the world, this offends someone? My lord people. The kids gotta eat. Lol
Good for her! I agree, don't look, although few things in life are more beautiful than a mother feeding her child. <3
I think it's sexist to hassle breast feeding women but that doesn't mean I have to find it beautiful either.
Load More Replies...But if she was simply wearing a low cut top, they'd all be leering!
The only time breast feeding should be covered up is if the baby feels more comfortable 'sheltered'... and the mother would know and decide, not some easily-offended prude.
It's because female bodies are made for sex and to use your boobs for feeding your baby are because of that considered a crime. // a mom who breastfed her two kids. My youngest one for 2 years...
I wonder what the kid next to her thinks about this
I hate when people say cover-up to breastfeeding women. My only theory as to why it bothers them is that they must be a virgin.
This mother has a great sense of humour and lots of self confidence. Her baby will benefit from it. That and the breastfeeding, which is the best possible nourishment for the child. The milk is crucial to growth and development and also strengthens the baby's immune system and provides protection against disease. The nearness of the body makes the baby calm (oxytocin!) and builds a base that is the most important part of a person's whole life. We should let all mothers feed their babies whenever the babies need it, and make the persons offended by it cover up their own faces so the rest of us don't have to see them.
Can I just say I was brought up that to stare at someone is rude especially someone doing something abnormal as in this case so yh it's not polite unless you are on her table and cannot help the situation. So the woman in question is not at fault it's the people staring at her
Kudos for your hilarious response! It's not unsanitary, and literally the baby wanted to eat lunch too! It's that simple lolol
Kudos for your hilarious response! it's not unsanitary , and literally the baby wanted to eat lunch too! It's that simple.
I find it very off-putting having someone breast feeds whilst I am trying to have a quite meal.
isn't it amazing, how many people, don't realise what a woman's tits are for.
if you don't like being gawked at while breast feeding, cover up the pumps
Laughs in liberal german. Just a breast. Just a baby. Doing baby things. Its not sexual. Most mums i see do it discreetly, but being under people who tell you feeding your baby is akin to flashing your genitals or defacting would offend me to the point to leave my b:)bs out there. And religion doesn't have a say. God intended women to have a means to feed their children. Your crazy.
Some people might have never breast fed or has seen scary things related to them which inflicts internal privacyâs. Itâs like asking somebody to eat food that they hate the most allround. Or ââ eat your ear wax off a spoon. But I admit the lack of consideration towards her baby, Iâve always asked mine to cover up to protect her dignity of upholding that bond and intimacy with our baby and not end that moment up in someoneâs mind when they are in their; toilet, orgy or family dinner later in life. If social circumstances is a must it is a duty to not instigate peopleâs own intentions by our own actions. I thought it was a man playing a joke on his babyâs at first but this is ludicrous. 99.9% of people would not do this kind of foolish s**t, so you know which category the bag man/woman belongs.
Every time I see this photo it has a different caption. This lady has been so many peoples daughter, friend, wife, coworker from every country I have lost count.
I personally couldn't care less if someone wants to breastfeed in public. But I respect a restaurant owner's right to decide what to allow at his/her establishment. Some people are not comfortable with it for whatever reason. Well then, just do lunch - with your baby - somewhere else.
Why? What is offensive about it? I have NEVER EVER seen a breastfeeding mum flaunting their boobs to make others uncomfortable. EVER! In 66 freaking years on the planet. NEVER.
Load More Replies...This is rude to the society she is visiting. I can see that she is a visitor in a different culture. She should respect before she expects respect.
Well Orenda Anyone, it must be fantastic having x-ray vision like Superman to see that she is of another culture... and even if she is, so what? And what if she is of another culture and an American citizen (I'm assuming photo was taken in the States), then what? Bet you don't complain about men FLASHING their boobs on the beach, or walking downtown with no top on. Hypocritical much?
Load More Replies...Babies can survive just fine without women whipping their beasts out in public- former baby
No, something about people's brains and their either uptight upbringing or pervy minds
Load More Replies...Now that is offensive. Your comment that is. Hole. Find. Go down it.
Load More Replies...farting =/= feeding your baby with a body part that was created for that purpose. also most people have no problem with guys roaming shirtless for no reason, even though there is barely a difference
Load More Replies...there is nothing unsanitary about breastfeeding, unlike with changing a diaper. as other comments higher up have said, if you think breastfeeding should be covered up, then every diner in a restaurant should also cover themselves up.

Another practical tip is to say less and mean more. Too many phrases, descriptive words, jargon, and clichés tend to take you further away from the point you’re communicating. Psych Central suggests that you “use active verbs and keep sentences short” to get “others to listen to you and actually absorb what you’re saying.”
No good communication has ever happened without listening. If you want to develop better understanding of others, you must be an active listener who focuses on the information you’re being told. Empathetic listening is also key in building closer relationships, making friends, and forming long-lasting connections.

Donât know what to believe on this one coz I have seen this picture on facebook claiming it was someones husband who did it.
A friend of mine was having a get together with some people from her congregation and asked everyone to bring a plate. Now when someone asks that, it means to bring a plate of food to share like a salad, cupcakes etc. Well one person had only been living in Australia for a short amount of time so they didnât know thatâs what it meant. They ended up bringing an empty plate, thinking that my friend didnât have enough plates so if you wanted to eat you had to bring your own.
I attended an event where everybody brought the same thing green bean cassarole.

Went on a double date with a friend of mine. She was with her boyfriend and he brought his best friend. We go to pizza and we're having a hard time eating is because her boyfriend liked anchovies and had them put it on half the pizza. End of the meal, my friend is blabbing on and on about something. While she's talking, her boyfriend gets a box for the rest of the pizza. Me and his friend watch as he slides the pizza into the box and the box tilts dumping the pizza on his lap upside down. His girlfriend is still blabbing when his friend and I start laughing. She says "What?" Looks over at her boyfriends lap and says "Is that the rest of the pizza?" Head hung down, face red with embarrassment.. he just nods.
That has nothing at all to do with the topic at hand. But thanks for sharing your one party story.
