I am German and I can definetely say that there is blue in the flag... Ok, it is covered by black, red and gold. I always wonder they everybody things that German are not funny. And life here is not always about work. ;)

I have a German friend and he is HILARIOUS. He really is one of the funniest people I know. He is also one of the kindest and friendliest people too. This is one of the worst stereotypes of any race that the Germans have no sense of humour. I promise you they do.

When it comes to "Work", Germans do it smarter. They actually work less, fewer days in the year, fewer hours then people of its peer countries. That leaves a lot of time for holidays, fun and enjoying the humor of others.

That is incorrect. Even the Blue part of the german flag stands for work. We hate humor that much that we wont even allow it not being in our flag. ;)

Germans spend the time from November 11 til Ash Wednesday with LOTS of humour, the rest of the time we work.

Well, I´m German and have a good sense of humor! But, we have an awful lot of people living of the social welfare here, and they definatly don´t even know how to spell work!

Work is work and Schnaps is Schnaps! :-D There is some humor in Germany, not tons, though and never during work hours. And since many foreigners only interact with Germans at work they are a bit out of the loop in that respect.

The German way of making jokes it to make jokes about the others (the third party not being in the room), whereas e.g. Austrians love to make jokes about themselves. (although they don’t have blue on their flag either).

Well, Germany has one of the highest work productivities in the world, and much holiday-allowance entitled by law. Add all the christian public holidays and this is not so fitting. Keep the blue for humor and replace black with "Merkel", red with "Merkel", and yellow with "Merkel" and you are there!

This is INCREDIBLY offensive to the memory of the thousands of Northern Italians who fought and lost their lives fighting for the resistance. In my family we lost four brave men who were helping these Italian Partigiani who were hiding and fighting against the Nazis in the Dolomites during WWII. It saddens me greatly that the Northern Italians' struggles during WWII have not been included in the history books here in the west.
