That just reminds me of how I felt after I finished school. My only goal back then was to do well in school, and when I eventually got shoved into the adult world, I was like "Crap... What's my new purpose now...?"
There is actually a dark alternate ending to the tortoise and the hare. Because the tortoise won the race he was considered the fastest animal in the forest, so they put him in charge of warning everybody of danger. However, because he really wasn't the fastest, everyone in the forest ended up dying because he could not warn them in time.
the thought process must be like "hey, the ultra slow dude won the race, so he's the fastest animal!" "didn't he win because hare fell asleep?" "yeah. but he won!" "fair enough, he gets to warn us if something bad happens."

Yeah that was a depressing one I could have done without. Putting down an animal is the hardest thing to deal with. I really want that out of my mind but it's going to be stuck there forever. No didn't like that at all
