It's Still The Best Christmas Pic I Have Of Them
I would proudly frame this and hang it above my mantle and exclaim: "Do you want to see photos of my children?"
This is the kind of kids' photos i would love to see!!!

Speaking from experience I say stay with the dogs. Much easier and cheaper than kids. They're cuter when they talk back and they'll love you no matter what.
Christmas this year is just me and my two rescue dogs, and I wouldn't have it any other way. At the age of 75 I think I've done enough Christmases to be permiited to sit this one out.
as a person who had not one but two very good doctors tell me i would never be able to have children, i loved having my dogs....until g-d laughed and said...'psyche!' yes, had a child that is now 42. well, while i love my son to pieces i will say that i have never had to send my dogs to college, worry about them doing drugs or the friends he was associating with, etc.. looking back, dogs are easier but they don't remember holidays! and, they hog the bed.
Your dog is clearly an awesome, fuzzy love sponge! He's lucky you are such good dog parents!
Beautiful picture. Wish I could vote more often. That darling radiates joy and soul.
I would love to enjoy being a parent to both a child and an animal. I know having either will have its on challenges. For example and an animal leaves you too soon (speaking from experience still not over it :( and giving birth to a child that ( there are many that love their parents and respect them and are there for them even as they age) is not an easy road. But whether you have an animal or a child that you love and cherish just remember anything good in life is not meant to be an easy journey. Because our experience make us who we are, whatever path we chose we should chose wisely and befitting to us and not look down on other path they chose. Because to each their own. And everybody deserves to be happy the way it suits them.
So having been sexually abused throughout my entire adolescence means I’m now living my best life? It’s definitely not the life experience I would have chosen for myself...

Our 5-Year-Old Rescue, Sam, Looking Forward To Spending His First Christmas In His Forever Home
Second pic: Sam has just been informed that a rescue cat will be joining the household
We have a picture of our dog, Scruffy, on his first Christmas after we rescued him. He’s not only wearing a dog version of the ugly Christmas sweater, he’s also diving into his first present—-after I had just barely opened one end. He pulled the toy out of the box by himself and ran off to play with it. Well, until his next present was being unwrapped. That was 10 years ago, and he still thinks every box that comes into the house is a present for him, regardless of what time of year it is.
My old rescue greyhound always used to sneeze when having her picture taken and look demonic 🤣
That second pic was a (very pleasant) surprise! Had I been in the middle of drinking something, it likely woulda come right out of my nose!
I think I have fallen in love with Sam!! My husband will be crushed!!
We’re one day away from one of the most awaited holidays of the year. With Christmas lights shining and pumpkin pie baking, with your urchin munchkin, I mean your pet, messing around the house, it’s one kind of idyll we live for. And speaking of pets, they’re having as much fun (if not more!) as you. “Christmas gifts are an expression of love, so extending that to our furry family is wonderful!,” Molly DeVoss, a certified feline training and behavior consultant, told Bored Panda in an interview.
We asked Molly about what all fellow cat owners should know (sorry, dog parents, next post is for you!) about getting into the Christmas spirit with their furry friends. “As we rejoice in the season, our cats share that exuberance with us. Because cats are very sensitive creatures, they also notice when we are feeling down, so try to keep your chin up during this challenging year—if not for yourself, then for your cat,” Molly said.
My Work Here Is Done
I hear the theme song to Cops when I see this pic. “Bad Boys, Bad Boys, Whatcha gonna do? Whatcha gonna do when they come for you?”
In the cats mind the tree is in flames an Ride of the Valkeries is playing.
My Dogs Favorite Toy Is Santa
And I want Milkbones, and a new doggie bed, and a new ball. And lots of pets from my humans.
I will never not love this photograph. It makes me smile every time.
My Cat (Jet) Likes To Sit In Our Fake Christmas Tree
Is that Photoshop, or really lights reflecting on those kitty eyes? Super cool!
“Sharing the joy with your cat is great, but don’t share your food with them—no matter how tempting. Many foods are toxic to cats. Onion and garlic powders, shallots, scallions, ham and other pork products can be toxic for your cat. Instead, find freeze-dried meat treats and offer those up to your cat as a treat. You could also add some special flavor to your cat’s wet food with pet bone broth, which is rich in protein.”
Another thing you should be aware of if you share a home with your cat is the particular things that are toxic for them. “We all want to decorate festively at holiday times, but poinsettias, lilies, holly berries, mistletoe, and amaryllis are all toxic to your cat and should be avoided. Instead, display silk versions of these holiday plants, or consider a Christmas cactus, which is not toxic to dogs or cats,” Molly said.

The certified feline behaviorist also shared some great gift ideas in case you want to treat your cat this Christmas. “Catnip and catnip-filled toys make great Christmas gifts for cats since it is often instant gratification; the cat goes bonkers over the fresh nip and the parents feel joy watching their feline so engaged with the gift,” Molly said and added that some cats don’t respond to catnip, and for those, look for a blend of catnip, silvervine, and valerian root. Molly sells a custom blend of that mix on her website called Meowza, so check it out for a last-minute gift!

On The First Day Of Christmas My True Love Said To Me "The Dog Is Inside Our Tree"
My Cat Is Afraid Of Tangerines, So I Created A Force Field To Protect The Christmas Tree
Oranges and tangerines have a very strong scent and essential oils which are cat-repelent. I used to use the peels to keep away cats from my motorcycle.
My cats are scared of bananas, presumably for a similar reason.
Load More Replies...Actually it is because tangerines are incredibly poisonous to cats.
This plan may backfire, that cat is definitely plotting a counter offensive...
“Food puzzles also make great gifts for cats because they are a great source of enrichment, mimicking the natural hunting instincts of cats. Another great idea is to make a donation to a local cat rescue in honor of your pet. While this doesn’t give the cat a new gift, it will help other homeless felines in need during the holiday season.”
Molly also said that if you gift your cat, or someone else’s cat, with a scratching post this season, make sure it is tall enough. “The cat should be able to fully stretch out, which means the post should be at least 36” tall for adult cats—the taller the better,” she concluded.

Oh Good, You're Here. The Tree Just Fainted
I just had my tree collapse, and I blamed a cat who had been sleeping next to it, until I realized the stand failed because the tree was too heavy. I have been apologizing to the cat ever since... and sweeping up shattered ornaments (my favorites too!)

Hospital Comfort/Service Dog Decked Out For Holidays
Cute as heck! Quick educational side note, though: if this dog's job is visiting patients in the hospital to bring them comfort and joy, then this is not a service dog. This is a therapy dog. Therapy dogs are the puppers that make the rounds visiting lots of people in need, and they have to be well-trained, calm, unflappable, and gentle to do their work. Service dogs, however, are paired with single individuals to mitigate that person's disability by performing specific tasks. For example, a blind person may have a service dog who assists them with guidance and object retrieval. A person with epilepsy may have a service dog (in this case, you could also say "medical alert dog") who performs a signal to indicate oncoming seizures and helps protect the person's body while they seize if they fall to the ground. Service dogs need to be deeply bonded with their person, and it's specifically advised that others NOT pet or feed a person's service dog while the dog is on duty because it distracts him/her from attending to their human partner's needs. TL;DR: "therapy dog" = visits lots of people to offer comfort vs. "service dog" = paired with a disabled individual and focuses on meeting that one person's needs.
