They aren't magazines from the same company, they just, coincidentally, have similar names. "Girl's Life" is more like a women's lifestyle magazine for pre-teens (created BY A WOMAN), while "Boy's Life" is mostly focused on outdoors adventuring and just happened to have a "job exploration" issue.

Sad statement but that's what sells magazines. If more girls put a higher emphasis on their future careers than the latest hairstyles, their respective magazine covers would reflect that.

I worked to afford putting myself through college, so I haven't had a summer off since High School, and never had one off in college, I continued to work AND did summer classes. It helped better acclimate me to the reality after graduation.

The boy is wearing just like, the most "formal wear" you can usually get a young boy to wear, and it's fairly modern, but DAMN are they right about the girls. And the mom just HAD to wear the most modern looking dress she could find to make them stand out in stark contrast.
