My family always yells at me for giving homeless people money. So, one day we went to Chicago and I bought 15 meals and passed them out to any homeless person I saw. Then I went back to get more, listening to the sound of my fam telling me "They can get a job and pay for it themselves." I'm going to show them this picture and telling them to stop being so stingey.
There is so much animosity towards to poor in this world -- people think they're lazy, that they've "earned" their miseries and woe. When I see this man cry because he was given a pair shoes...how could anyone think he's chosen this life? If he were just lazy, why would he be so moved?
You never know what happened for them to end up homeless, or how hard they fought to stay in their home.

I have been dealing with depressions for about two years with having worse moments through out the last year. On top of that i have been single for nearly the same time. Reading those stories gives me the feeling that i am not alone and this particular list made me smile and cry like a damn fool. But it helped. Thank you all for this.

Ok, jerks at BP, I am 6'4" 250 pounds off tattooed cowboy boot wearing man. Running a police impound yard, with truck drivers and ticked off people coming and going all day. Who has made it through like 4 pages and am FREAKIN BROKEN!! I am not allowed to cry at work!!! hahahahaha

When I was 5 yrs old, I went to my school store with 5 bucks. I bought something for my mom and dad, and that used up all of my money. I didn't have enough for myself. I ended up in tears.

The thing that breaks my heart is looking at so many kind people and knowing they are the ones that western society often writes off, a "bad a*s" teenager, an overweight black woman working as a server in a diner, the elderly, an Iranian school teacher, a "creepy" guy with long hair...but there they are, living their life and being kind.
