That's cool... now I'm pretty sure it would be called "snow white and the 7 little people"
I have seriously always looked at the dwarfs as a separate species, like in LOTR
Load More Replies...Ineffective form of punishment. BAMBI is a Fantasy Cartoon. Should have made the guy help Wildlife officer in Real Life dirty labor like cleaning up road kill or illegally killed Deer.
It's called the Hays Code look it up! It used ti be way more strict than now when tv/movie was first invented. That's why old horror movies never show the act of murder just before and after. also if you ever get the chance too take Horror Films as a humanites credit in college its alot of fun.
Load More Replies...Mulan is the first Disney princess who isn't a princess. Absolutely nothing in the story supports her even coming close to being royalty.
I thought Pocahontas was the first non-princess princess.
Load More Replies...Now I want to know which princess was first to kill someone off screen!
Mulan was the first princess to kill people onscreen! *shows an image of Mulan smiling brightly*
I am still mad how Disney butchered this magnificent animated film in the live-action remake
Makes sense. It's meant to be in England and they couldn't have 24/7 rain, could they? If you watch the movie now, it's very obvious they're on a sound stage.
I mean, it doesn't rain 24/7 in England but yes, the soundstage is obvious.
Load More Replies...That is so cool! This sounds weird, but I'd love to live in an indoor neighborhood!
They built a whole entire neighborhood, IN ANOTHER BUILDING?
Fun Fact: Aunt May is supposed to be in her fifties. Marisa Tomei is 56. She's the first one who is the correct age.
The most recent one (at least) is sony + disney
Load More Replies...Thank you for that comment... if you don't know, google umbrella academy luther
Load More Replies...Did they enhance that dress also? Because it sure looked better in the movie.
She looks like she regrets every decision in her life for some reason.....maybe she forgot to clean her room
AND It focused on sisterly love, and ruined the concept of love at first sight with Anna and Hans. Love that movie
And it was the first time a heroine sang a song with the villain.
Load More Replies...Wasn't it also the first Disney movie that centered around a queen instead of a princess?
that's not true. the first one was the movie brave directed by brenda chapman
Except Ariel, who can't really hide anythi... oh wait... those shells...
Load More Replies...There is no such thing as an actual princess in any NA tribes, though.
Imagine having worked with rick moranis, robin williams, and chris evans? ugh im in awe
Or the other amazing female actors too. Don't forget about them.
Load More Replies...I’m sure it’s getting harder and harder to find a middle aged woman who’s been smoking two packs a day for the last forty years and has that kind of voice. Anti-smoking campaigns, you know, plus what smoking does to your teeth, especially if you’re an actor.
But if she was black and had been voiced by someone white, it would have been racist. Did I get it right?
Roz is the only female character in the film to be voiced by a male, Bob Peterson. A Pixar story artist.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I read that Disney allowed for Donald in the movie alongside Daffy for as long as they had equal amounts of screen time.
Load More Replies...John Fiedler -- classic character actor. He was also Mr. Peterson in the original Bob Newhart Show, and Mr. Hengist in an old Star Trek episode.
I can still hear his "die die everybody die" from Star Trek :-)
Load More Replies...He is also Rudy is the elderly man who was thrown out of a window in The Emperor's New Groove
Because back then, he had nothing to hide. ^_- (can't give any links now, but I recall seeing a video where they unfold this little detail, that in Disney animated films, the gloves usually mean the character wearing them is hiding something. Could be just a coincidence, or could be a real practice adopted later in the company's career)
no it was because it was harder to draw hands then gloves
Load More Replies...I believe that Walt Disney originally wanted to name him Mortimer Mouse. Also, why in the BoredPanda censoring "W-i-l-l-y"?
Load More Replies...UPON that star, you mean. Jiminy would've died if he wished ON that star 🤣🤣
Load More Replies.......and Pinocchio gets hanged and stabbed in the back by the cat and the fox.
Nooooooooooooooo! Well... depending on how long you've had to lay awake because the bugger was cricketing in your room all night. I guess after 10 nights, I might have looked very fondly at the hammer...
Load More Replies...I knew this one because I read the original story when I was younger... it made me sad. I was pretty emotional back then.
I couldn't say "dalmatians" when I was little, so I called it "101 Damnations."
Load More Replies...I remember us having a film projector when I was 9, 101 Dalmatians was one of the first films we got.
And DO NOT FEED pterodactyls. Pterodactyls are vermin.
Load More Replies...Fun fact: Pigeon feeding is illegal in France, as they are a vermin. (https://www.service-public.fr/particuliers/vosdroits/F34920?lang=en)
Imagine walking round asking if people wanted to see your woody pride!
Load More Replies...Still no answer from Disney if ALL toys come to life....
Load More Replies...Disney and anime are the parent killers. It's always been that way. Either horrible parents or a wonderful parent that died. Or just one parent. Idk they all have some sort of traumatic backstory.
Load More Replies..."Wasn't alive" sounds wierd to me... give me the feeling that she died at some point, and they have to resurect her... I would rather say "wasn't born".
Maybe she was already born, and then died, and then came back a few years later, who knows?
Load More Replies...That movie sucked. Even the new "Charlie's Angels" movie was more bearable to watch.
Oh I beg to differ. Neither of them were bearable.
Load More Replies...I'm okay with them making live action movies, but this particular one felt like it was pushing an unrelatable feminist message. (Like, yay, all the little girls watching learn that they, too, can inherit their fathers' thrones!)
Load More Replies...I read that as "wasn't olive". Checked picture. Checked text again. Need to get my glasses, I guess
And still managed to understand nothing about animal behavior or even what an african "jungle" looks like
its a movie with talking animals, and your focusing on the jungle?
Load More Replies...Not-so-fun fact: Even though Frozen had two female leads, men still had more dialogue than the women.
Load More Replies...I was so against watching this movie. I'm don't know why. But then I caved and watched it and bawled my eyes it and it's my absolute favorite Disney movie.
Because she's a strong, independent lady mouse who doesn't need no man!
imo, the best life you can have, woman or man, is, if you had the ability to grow up to not NEED someone to be with. but maybe you just WANT and choose to. maybe not even in a relationship. maybe with some form of love. because you both are strong and independent. caring for another from time to time does not diminish your strength or independence. if you care, or if you can accept to be taken care of from time to time, because you know, that for the other person, friend, lover, stranger, family member, being able to show that they care for someone, is also to take care of themselves. it's a simple act for everyone, to prove to oneself, that humanity is a race of hope and trust in itself. I never got that. Love requires real strength and independence, and is in no way a sign of weakness.
Load More Replies...Is she giving him the finger? lol! I know she's not but that's what I saw first
Anyone ever watch those old MM cartoons? Mickey was downright stalker-y
I wonder if he would've chosen differently if he knew they were going to dub his voice. I heard he didn't know that until very late in production.
"I want the one who actually speaks! I'm not going to be a puppet that doesn't even have a real voice! I'll take Vader!" ....
Load More Replies...He was known to British children for about 2 decades as "The Green Cross Code Man" . He wore a green and white superhero type costume with a green cross on a white background and taught road safety to kids. He made safety ads about it and went around to all different primary schools to promote road safety and how to cross the road safely. I remember when he came to my school. He was absolutely brilliant. He didn't seem to mind that we asked him more about Star Wars than road safety. He even reprised the role years later to teach older kids to be safe when crossing the road while texting. He was such a really lovely man. He also had a robot side kick which, to me , anyway, looked suspiciously like R2D2. Here he is in this photo I found. He always said that the work that he was the most proud of was being the Green Cross Code Man. Just kind of shows you what a real gentleman he was when he prioritised keeping kids safe over being in a Hollywood blockbuster. RIP David Prowse. green-cros...170517.jpg
He hadn't seen the costume for Darth Vader before his choice as he'd seen the Chewbacca costume and didn't want his face hidden. Then he saw Darth's costume! Also, the reason why his voice was dubbed was because he had a very strong West Country (think Somerset area) accent that just didn't work in the film. The dubbing over with James Earl Jones' voice was done in post production. It was one of the reasons why the film was pushed back from late 1976 to May 1977.
As he said, "I took the part of the villain because everyone remembers the villain."
Hey my art teacher at my school worked for marvel. He witnessed the whole thing until he had to get laid off.
I’m pleased you added the word off at the end of the sentence or it’s a whole different meaning.
Load More Replies...During a break if it had been convenient, maybe.
Load More Replies...If she had the manacing tone of the Vader character in her ears / mind it might help her inhabitation of her own character
Load More Replies...The first time they met in person was during their cameo appearances on The Big Bang Theory 🤣🤣
That movie made me so sad as a child I'm still not able to watch it again. So much cruelty.
I only remember the pink elephant scene from that movie, scared the he'll out of me
This is my favorite. I cry every time Dumbo and his mom have their reunion.
He'd be in his 130's... I bet he's talking about the live action dumbo.
Load More Replies...Christopher Lee was a real badarse during the war! Look up his life story.
Load More Replies...That’s very true. In his segment, he doesn’t speak though.
Load More Replies...i hated this watching it as a kid for this very reason
I mean... aside from the live-action segments, nobody spoke in "Fantasia".
Well, not an interesting fact but a fact. There's a sub-genre in movies in which animals/plants/stuff etc replace humans, act like humans, live like humans but no real humans: Cars, Planes, Zootopia, Robots, Shark Tale, Onward. Sometimes they live like humans but humans exist too; such as Monsters Inc, Finding Nemo, Transylvania.
It's called anthropomorphism, a concept that is about 4000 years old already. ( Anciet Egypt gods like Anbis for example)
Load More Replies...Where would they sit in the car? Wouldn't they be inside the cars brain?
Fun fact: they tried putting humans in the movie, but it got too kinky for Disney so they had to remove them. (jk)
Load More Replies...This phrasing makes it seems like they stopped making movies after 9/11.
Really? I didnt notice that when he was standing next to a cliff.
YES that is the only reason I got it and I am so happy I did!
Load More Replies...WOW WOW WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOOWWOWOOWWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOOWWOWOWOOWOWOWOWOWWOWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO0OOOOOOOOOOOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWO
I was interested during the first few facts, then everything went downhill XD
Downhill is the most fun part of a rollercoaster :P
Load More Replies...Oh, oh I have a fun fact to add!! In 2016 the Walt Disney Co was worth $92 BILLION . That was the same year a Disneyland employee died in her car (where she had lived for years) because even as a full time employee (of a $92 BILLION company) she didn't make a living wage so she couldn't afford a home or healthcare. And she is one of MANY who (pre-pandemic) made poverty level wages working full time. Way to go , Disney!
I'll take you at your word that's true. This whole article seems like propaganda, so I approve the counterpoint.
Load More Replies...and a few are Disney fact because Disney bought the company later, but was not Disney fact when it actually happens...
Load More Replies...Disney ... standardized, sanitized, monetarized, and when the last penny is extracted, a pointless sequel is gonna show up, where essentially the same story is told, with a few other soooo funny weirdos, who always are locals to somewhere else, show up doing something weird and exaggerate some kind of accent or language, and they're always sooooo funny ... like the turtles in finding Nemo, "Hahahahey, Mate, where'ya go'a, eh?" ... or something ... Disney sucks.
...the worst thing being that that actually works, and I give it a few years before Disney has bought every existing movie company. And that day, creativity will die.
Load More Replies...I HATED that so much trauma was thrust upon children in Disney movies: loss of a parent, violence, witness to violence, separated from family/siblings, and adults being mean and manipulative. There just has to be something entertaining that doesn't include this negativity. The world and reality will close in on kids soon enough anyway . . .
Boredpanda has thankfully stopped listing Disney Princess Posts, so they've changed to equally ridiculous, boring, inane, pointless, nonsensical, jibberish about Disney. Please vote an arrow up if you think boredpanda should take a hiatus from any more Disney posts.
The great thing about Boredpanda is there's a variety of posts on hundreds of different topics. Why do you click on a post you know you are not going to enjoy? There's so much to read! Just go and read what you find interesting. To be honest, I didn't really like this post, but I'm sure many people did. Why do you think you have the right to decide what's posted and what's not posted?
