That "freedom of speech" doesn't mean you get to say what you want, whenever you want, in whatever forum you want, without consequence.
Freedom of speech does not mean freedom from consequences. It is also not a blanket "everyone must allow you to say whatever you want": it's a restriction on the government from making gag laws
I noticed it most often gets misused by people who very clearly absolutely do not want YOU to have freedom of speech - just them. It's just another bullying tactic to try and shame you into shutting up and not arguing with them.
Bingo! A great example is that champion of free speech, Elon Musk. He doesn't mind if someone tweets a statement that is violent, racist, or misogynistic. (Or all three.) But! Tweet something that is even obliquely critical of him, and not only will your tweet be deleted, but you'll get kicked off of Twitter immediately.

Going through this with my current employer now. According to them, sexual harassment is protected under the first amendment.

This is one of the things that makes me most annoyed! "But my freedom of speech!!" is usually whined about by people who have no idea what their rights actually are or what they mean. You can certainly say anything you want to, but that doesn't mean there are no consequences when you say something horrible.
Moreover, the first amendment just prevents the GOVERNMENT from making LAWS that prevent speech. If it's not the government telling you, legally, to shut up, there's nothing you can do about it. That includes facebook, twitter, walmart, wherever. They are not the government, they can censor your speech.
Rights, in America, are a contract between you and the government. Not you and Target.
The wording of the amendment is very specific: the *Congress* shall *pass no law* etc. etc. Private individuals, corporations, institutions, and the like can set any rules they choose, and telling you to shut up is not violating your rights in any way. In many ways it's similar to the Bible - the people who yell loudest about what it says tend to have the least amount of actual understanding of it.

I think there is a fundamental misconception about freedom of speech and freedom of thought. It was mentioned before but bears repeating. This is a right given to us so a government cannot imprison us for speaking out against it. This is in reference to the government. Not private businesses. Privately owned businesses are not bound to this. If Elon wants you off Twitter, then out you go. Its his clubhouse. It's the same if you walk into a coffee shop and start yelling about how ugly you think the decoration is. Or yelling about a regulation on a plane. When someone indicates they’re deaf, or I’ve met them before and know they’re deaf, I have always made sure to lightly touch their arm to get their attention, and to directly face them, not to rush my words, but speak clearly—-not loudly, but clearly so my lips form readable words for them. It’s really not difficult to adjust to someone else’s needs for the few minutes you’re interacting with them, ffs.

OCD is not just liking things clean and tidy. It's also not a cute personality quirk. It's a serious and sometimes very debilitating mental health condition. Also people with anxiety can often catastrophise things in their head abd telling them not to worry doesn't work.
A small one, but: Just because I hang out with someone a lot, regardless of their gender or sex, that does not mean we should get together and start dating. It's not good to pressure people into relationships, then watch as it crumbles apart (speaking from personal experience)

Every dentist I've ever seen in my life has blamed me. (I have Sjogren's. Genetically, my family has thin, weak dental enamel. My mom had full dentures before she was 40yo, and my dad wasn't far behind her. I'm 58yo and am just reaching the point of needing implants after 12 years of Sjogren's. Before that, I had great teeth.)
