However, just because a person’s entitled, it doesn’t mean that they deserve getting hate online. One way that a person can become entitled is growing up in a household where they don’t learn how to earn rewards which makes them expect them for nothing when they grow up.
In short, entitled people make life all about them: everything has to benefit them, everything is about them, and they believe they’re superior to everyone else. That means that the entitled rarely compromise with others, they lack empathy, and they get frustrated when the world doesn’t rush to fulfill their every whim.

Not sure of that - there are two people in the picture - not sure that both would be unable to speak. Plus, there are workarounds, such as pointing on the menu, miming, writing, etc. Raising one's hand is a more polite way to request the staff's attention than ringing a bell. I've seen a manager tell off a customer for snapping his fingers, which is considered demeaning to wait staff.

my ex had a boss with a unique sense of humor. One day he was blowing into a very small harmonica, entertaining himself. She walks into his office and sees it, now on his desk and asks about it. He tells her it's for when he needs her in his office he will blow in it. (I have met him, I LIKE his humor) She drives off in her 1939 Snit while he chuckles.

As someone who was a server for years I developed a kill them with kindness attitude. If they really pissed me off I would be so saccharin sweet to them that they had to know I was mocking them but had nothing to complain about to a manager. In this case I would have, with exaggerated respect, told this entitled bitch that if I heard her ring that bell she would never see me at her table and could get what she wanted herself, possibly with the bell up her a**e for safe keeping, as she wouldn’t want to lose it the next time she needs to make herself feel special. This would have been said with a very polite sweet smile and soft nonaggressive tone of voice.

Completely ignored it-but do the normal check backs and made sure they got exemplary service. Above and beyond. Just not when they rang the bell. If I was on the way to the table, and they just happened to ring the bell-I would keep on walking, and come back in a minute or two, without the bell ring. If they said anything about the bell, I would have said, very nicely, " How original! But it's not going to work, because* expo uses a bell for our food, and it will throw off the entire waitstaff* We have had other tables complain before -it's distracting them-it's rude-they didn't come out to eat to hear another table ring a bell- We did this once, and then guest saw it, and they all started bringing their own bells, and it caused a lot of problems, so the store manager said no more, no exceptions. I worked in a restaurant for 7 years. I have a plenty stories from that time. One of my favorite is this: We had a busy full terrace with a lot of sundae orders. My coworker was serving a very rude table. They were 4 people. When my coworker brought them their order she had 3 of their sundae on a tray, because only 3 fits. The woman screamed to her that she had the 4. forgotten. In a very disrespectful way. My coworker looked her straight in the eyes and said that she didn't forget the 4. one but she only had two arms to wait tables. The lady was not amused. It was a horrible day. The best part were the people who snap with their fingers to arrest attention. Thats ultimate rude to a waitress. Gladly no one uses a bell.

If you are another customer, report it to the manager and say you find it offensive and distracting to your meal. That lady looks like the type to dig in her heels and it gives the management more behind their argument. Other diners are complaining and their money, collectively, is more important than yours. I know, in Japan, they have a very efficient bell system at many restaurants, but this isn't Japan and they'd be annoyed af at you for bringing your own bell, anyway.

I pulled up and parked in a handicap accessible spot in front of the hospital (I had a legal permit) and got out the car. This man pulled his car behind mine and started calling me some of the most vile names I have ever heard in my entire life. I just looked at him, walked around the car, got Mom's walker out of the backseat and then opened her door to help her out. The guy's face went ashen and he sped away. Imagine his surprise when he got on the elevator with us.

My wife dealt with something similar. There was a train here that was doing a polar express thing around the holidays. It was something like a small tour with hot chocolate and Christmas carols or something. We didn't do it for some reason. Some woman tried this in with me saying she had the window booked. When I showed her my boarding pass had window written on it, she tried to say the airline must have double booked the seat. I told her the airline wouldn’t do that and she should check her boarding pass again. Was getting ready to get the flight attendant involved but she finally conceded that she did in fact have the aisle but then proceeded to blame it on her “assistant”. Her assistant was supposed to book her a window. Not even an apology for her rude behaviour. At least I got my window seat back.

So I'm getting comfotable( And I'm a 5 year old) and this Karen taps on my shoulder, shakes her head at me, and says" You're disturbing the other passangers" I just nod, but I'm thinking, What other people? There is literally 3 other 8 people on this whole plane!( I don't have pictures)

Posts like this just get me so riled up. People being so stupid and ignorant is the last thing I want to deal with. No anger to the writer, of course! Only to the idiotic people in this thread. I can't understand how people can have such a lack of compassion and empathy or understanding for other human beings, truly. To calm down I will now listen to girl in red for a bit :P
