My (male) partner and I stopped at a rest stop on a interstate trip (YEARS before #metoo) and the women's room was locked/out of order. I went into the other bathroom with another woman, but my partner and another man waited outside. After we were leaving, I asked why they waited since there were so many stalls available. My partner said VERY QUICKLY "oh no, if a woman is there, you DO NOT go in behind her!" but it never occurred to me, since.... It was a men's room? After he said it, it still seemed unnecessary, but made sense to me as a respectful act in response to an unusual circumstance; Still, if you're ANY gender, using a gender neutral/multi-stall bathroom... How is it violating for another person to enter? If they aren't nefariously flashing you or creeping into your temporary pee compartment... D'f*k you expecting, boo? If the establishment of segregation is not made on purpose, your *preference* is not logically *their* problem.

In that case, she should use a women´s bathroom. in the future.

Years back, two 40-something women at a YMCA asked for women-only hours because three teenage boys had oppressed them by swimming too close and splashing them. They knew they had been oppressed because they learned about it in their Women's Studies class. It didn't occur to them that they could simply tell the boys to swim further off. (The manager at the Y -- also a 20-something woman -- turned down their request. Besides, what would they have done if teenage girls had oppressed them by splashing them??).

Almost like when someone blew their horn at me cause I was taking to long to load my car and they wanted my close to the door spot...actually had the nerves to do the "can you hurry up gesture"....I finished closed my trunk started walking back to the mall and said I'm still shopping. I actually stood outside, smoked a cig, waited and saw they parked in the far back of the lot. I went back to my car, backed out and drove to where she was walking from the back of the lot and blew my horn at her, waved, and drove off.
