My aunt was born on December 25th. Mom always made sure Aunt got a birthday gift as well as a Christmas gift.

My cousin's first child was born on the 26th. I always send a Christmas present and a birthday present (different wrapping paper of course)! This will continue till he starts asking for expensive presents, then I may combine. :)

One of the guys at my dojo had to deal with this. His girlfriend made sure to throw him a surprise party one time and invited all of us, because he'd never had an actual birthday party. I very much wish I had someone in my life like her.

Just because something is not your experience doesn't mean its simply not true for many other people. Im kinda in between. Im December 19. Some people gave me separate gifts, some people combined them. And I know someone with the same birthday who always got combination gifts
