30 Times People Had Such Terrible Computer Setups, They Could Only Be Described As ‘Cursed’, As Shared By This Twitter Account
Your computer and the way you use it is totally your business. But if someone sees 207,652 files on your desktop and sprouts growing out of your keyboard, they will take a photo of it. They will send it to the Twitter account Cursed Computer Setups. And people will make fun of it.
This fun little online project collects user-submitted pictures of everything computer-related, and even though the account was created only in February 2021, it already has nearly 80,000 followers. If you like Tech Support Gore, this content is also right up your alley.

I upgradeed from a Chia PET to a Chia-64. PLEASE TELL ME I'M NOT THE ONLY COMPUTER GEEK OLD ENOUGH FOR THIS JOKE!!!!
I did this to a coworker who went on vacation. I took an old keyboard, unscrewed the back, and put down a wet paper towel with alfalfa seeds. A light misting twice a day, and a week later when she came back she discovered a very similar situation!
LMAO You're a genius. I hope you gave her the untampered keyboard back soon after that

That doesn't happen organically, pun intended. Would have to try to make that happen.
Even if you are not neglecting your computer like some of the people on this list, chances are you will run into some technical problems that need your attention at some point. RedNight, an IT company working mainly in three areas – cloud infrastructure and applications, ongoing Managed Services (MSP), and business-grade hardware solutions, singles out 6 common issues we should be prepared for.
Slow Performance. "You may start to notice slower performance in applications you use every day. That's likely a problem stemming from your operating system," RedNight writes on its website. "Typically, this is a result of fragmentation on your C drive (C:). It's not a big problem – easily resolved by doing some basic software cleanup. Run a quick system check from your Task Manager to see which applications are taking up the most CPU and RAM resources."
It's also a good idea to remove any unnecessary programs or processes running in the background that you don't use. In the unlikely event that there are more complicated hardware issues to contend with, operating systems usually come pre-programmed with a suite of free diagnostic and troubleshooting tests you can run to narrow down the problems.
Your eyes hurt? This hurts everything, especially my brain

Loud Noises. "You may begin to hear loud clicking or grinding noises from your computer," RedNight highlights. "If so, it's almost certain that you are dealing with some type of hardware failure. There is a range of possible issues when you hear loud noises, but it will likely stem from the rotary functions of your cooling fans or hard drive(s)."
If you open the computer case and figure out that the cooling fans are the culprits for the noise, it’s probably time to change them out. "Cooling fans themselves are relatively inexpensive and easy to change with a screwdriver. CPU fans, power supplies, and graphics cards are other possible areas you should inspect. Keep in mind that these replacements can be a bit more expensive."
How did that even happen 😳 I’ve never run into a heating error popup in all the years I’ve used a computer, I didn’t even know that such pop ups existed, but if I got a popup with THAT as the listed temperature I’d be scared my house would catch on fire! (How common is it for “the computer is too hot please turn it off” error messages to appear? I live in a very cold area so it’s unlikely I’ll encounter such a thing anytime soon)
The bottom of my laptop after resting it on my bed for 30 minutes be like:
I do so need this for my cat! Set it up on a little desk next to mine maybe stick a tablet to the screen pillow showing wildlife (squiffles and tweet tweets)!
If the keyboard is not warm then the cat will still end up on your keyboard you know that right?😅😅😅

This complexity can sometimes cause your computer to freeze or not respond to your actions," RedNight writes. "9 out of 10 times you can remedy this simply by rebooting your system. In the event that you are experiencing constant freezes, it could be a sign of insufficient system memory, registry errors, corrupted files, or even spyware. You should check each of these potential issues one by one until the problem is rectified."
Running system checks in the background will tell you if there isn't sufficient memory in your system for the applications you use. "Antivirus and malware programs can run a more thorough check. They can see if your system’s resources are being impacted by viral infections and registry errors. They'll help you correct them, too."

Internet Browsing Is Slow or Unresponsive. "If your internet is slow or unresponsive, it could be a combination of software and hardware issues," RedNight explains. "But if you’ve already checked that your WiFi or LAN network connection is active and strong, the lag could result from conflicts in the IP address registration. That can be fixed by rebooting your modem or router. If it still doesn’t fix the issue, the problem could be the browser you are using."
Over time, browser performance can become sluggish from large browsing history and cache. There may also be failing browser extensions that slow down performance. "Make a practice of clearing your internet search history and cache regularly to keep your browser running efficiently. If all else fails, you can try reinstalling your browser or using a different one altogether to see if you experience the same issues."
Again the same screen as number 3 how is the screen still working (well at least half)
WHAT IS IT? THE LOBOTOMITE IS ASKING ME THINGS, O, AND I AM TRYING TO IGNORE THEM. MY PROCESSORS CAN'T IGNORE YOU BOTH AT THE SAME TIME.
Imagine somebody breaking into your house and they see this-
You're Seeing the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD). Arguably the scariest issue of all, this STOP error is almost certainly hardware-related and unfortunately, could signal significant system failures. But the situation is not hopeless yet. "A simple reboot could be all you need to fix the issue. In most cases, however, further diagnostics are necessary to find the cause of the issue. If the blue screen appears, you’ll see a line of white text that identifies the problem your computer is having. You can easily look these codes up online to narrow down the issue and work toward a solution or seek assistance," RedNight writes.
Lol I thought those were picture frames and I couldn't figure out what the hell it had to do with computers.
He’s (or she) mad about how that computer makes sounds just like when they purr and the cat wants to be he only source of happy vibrating sounds!
Load More Replies...I actually have to periodically open my Macbook and clean cat hair out of it because my cats love to lay on it and their hair will clog up the fans. They look about as apologetic as this cat.
I own 3 cats 2 of them have hair (the other is a sphynx) so this is probably what the inside of my PC looks like without me even realising it.. I'm surprised it hasn't gone up in flames.
Haha! The kitty’s expression makes it even better. Like “yeah I did that. That computer was impurrrsonating me by making sounds just like when I purr, so I destroyed it so I’d be your only source of purring!”
The cat even looks kind of like mine (kind of, though, just similar markings) and she loves to roll around on my parents’ keyboards (for some reason not mine most of the time. I’m offended :P ) and this would definitely happen if she could access the internal mechanisms!
Load More Replies...Yeah, three dogs, last I cleaned m PC tower out it was almost that bad.
Your pc ran flawlessly, stable and it didn't have any issues. So we decided to roll out some updates to fix that. Sincerely, Micro$oft
Screen Display Is Truncated or Has Low Resolution. "If you restart your computer and see that the resolution has changed or desktop icons and texts are truncated, it's usually related to your graphics card," RedNight points out. "Many times, you simply need to update your graphics drivers. If you know the brand or model of your card, you can go to the manufacturer’s website and download the latest software for the device."
If this solution still doesn't fix the issue, there could be problems with your hardware. "In rare cases, you may need to replace the graphics card altogether to solve the issue. However, in most cases, the issue is software-related."
Computer issues are not the end of the world. And they can make great tweets!
I was loving it until saw it was the Blue Screen of Death. Guess that wasn't forseen.
I'm guessing there were a lot of plastic components and not nearly enough cooling, and the plastic parts instead of straight melting, overheated to the point of expanding and bubbling into a mass of angry killer goo from the Upside Down.
Why buy a cheap cable sold at every electro shop when you can make it yourself with a huge fire & electrocution hazard.
There's an old saying, “There are old mushroom hunters and bold mushroom hunters; but there are no old, bold mushroom hunters.” They look like Fly Amani which have the same my toxins as a Death Head mushroom. A better question is how did any kind of mushroom spore get into the computer to grow? How did it get any moisture? Totally weird unless this is a photo shop scam.

The only reason this is cursed is because it's so sunny you can't see the screens
It wouldn't actualy, because you aren't sitting on the edge of the bricks.

This kid will be able to solve problems. Resourcefulness level 1000
Creative. Kid was really desperate for a computer desk.
Might be a dumb question, but why is this so problematic? I mean if you are a normal person and don't attack your table?
My only guess for people who don't angrily attack their table when they lose at gaming, is that maybe people buy glass desks without checking weight limits, and end up with a heavy monitor setup, and maybe if you knocked your monitor over while trying to set the cables up, it would be enough to break the table?....But even that sounds kinda implausible. The most likely thing sounds like someone lost an Overwatch match and rage quit, and that desk was not rated for gamer temper tantrums.
Load More Replies...An old style CRT monitor that was huge might break a glass table, but not a flat monitor. They don't weigh nearly as much. I suspect something fell on the glass or someone had a really bad tantrum.
Why not? They should be able to get on the web, too!
Load More Replies...I loved mine. A trackpad you can't accidentally tap with your palm in the middle of a three page project you haven't saved.
I can see the appeal there; I definitely made mistakes like that before I learned you could set the trackpad to deactivate while typing and for a short period after you were done typing so this didn't happen. But maybe this was the solution before that became standard? I would be worried about the opposite happening with this though. I need somewhere to rest my wrists, and I'd end up hitting all of the function buttons.

That is amazing . Don't be mad that she made a ton of money selling her bath water . That was genius. Even if it did smell like hot dog water
i actually said out loud "oh... that's really nice" with that tone of a parent complimenting their toddler's artwork.
It literally is called a What Is This. Professionally confusing people since whenever this was made.
minecrafters with their crafting tables/furnaces/whatever they need at the moment while they're mining be like
this reminds me of that one vine. the chip reader one? "oh, it's not going to work with that kind of chip."
Now this might sound crazy, but I think that's not the right chip...
Well, if you let it dry out for long enough, it might not have killed it.
Watercool your computer they said. It will run cooler and quieter they said.
The mouse cursor has left the videoscreen and is now IRL.

That's not going to work. You need to flip the switch. ( Yes I know, it's a monitor connected to the powercord connection.)
No, the pic is showing an idiot plugged his monitor where the power plug goes to
I think its because it is so close to the edge, that its going to fall off of the table.
Yeah. I can't wait til they make a computer we can just carry in our pocket
Imagine this is a funeral home and you have just lost a loved one and they tell you you need to check-in your order at the computer and you say ok and you are mourning and hurting and they lead you to this thing
In the age of COVID, many funeral homes have found new and innovative ways to serve their customers
How much work do you think it took to get those components out there for that picture?
Hopefully, not much and it's just a local sand dune, or at worst, a desert's edge

Well, you know, when my IBS was really bad there were times that a setup like this would have made me a more productive person...
Inefficient setup. You shouldn't need the folding chair, just move the gaming rig closer to the prime seating already in the room.
DUCT TAPE, people! Only use duct tape for this kind of FUBAR!
Send the PC to the LAN party with FedEx they said, it will be fine they said...
This is extra cursed. This is just...a very specific kind of cursed. Who was in the age demographic for that show who could also have afforded that kind of custom setup? That's what concerns me.
Back when I was a teen, a friend of mine built a PC in an old paper grocery bag. It actually worked! It was also a 386, so not exactly top-of-the-line...
This is why I have an old wood desk from the 1940/50s. Cost me $60 at Goodwill, solid oak, extremely heavy. Surface area is 4 feet x3 feet, which is way more than I need. But I could put a full grown moose on that thing with no worries
It didn't. the table fell/broke down and what looks like steps is actually the flooring. But I had to look a looooong time, too, to see it.
Load More Replies...It actually would work. Well, for a little while at least. The clean-up would be heinous though...
muffin hahahahahahahaha i laughed way to hard at this random muffin lol
Why is the GameCube keyboard controller "cursed"? It was used for Phantasy Star Online.
Anyone else zoom in to see what was happening on the server?
