When the product designer is out on vacation, or when an owner thinks they don’t even need one, they end up having seriously bad designs. The kind that are either utterly useless, fool the customer, or underdeliver and litter this precious planet with all the more rubbish nobody needs. Here are some examples.
On the other side of the same coin, right next to trashy design stands its flawed cousin with a nightmare twist—creepy design. Delivering sweats and forcingly captivating people’s looks, such design has little to be proud of except for its torturous aspect.

if you blew really hard whilst wearing these they made a high pitch squealing sound like a fart that children often used to disrupt class.
This really isn't so bad. It's probably the nicest you'll get a children's gas mask to look.
Only about 1,000 of these were made by the Sun Rubber Co. and never left the US. (less than a dozen still exist, all in museums) There was a British version that used bright red and blue colors to attract children. It was also called a “Mickey Mouse” gas mask, although had no ears and had nothing to do with the character. Instead the name was supposed to be part of the “game” to get children to wear them.
Guess they were really desperate to figure out how to make essential gas masks less frightening to children. To save their lives.
The other 'mickey mouse' gas mack from WW2 wasn't like THIS! Maybe because it was British...?
