This Artist Makes Minimalistic Comics Filled With Absurd Situations And Silly Humor (30 New Pics)
Comic artist Will Santino never ceases to surprise his audience with new and fresh ideas that are both funny and witty at the same time. His comics, which are mostly one-paneled, often depict ridiculous situations as well as a quote that really takes his work to the next level. In his last interview with Bored Panda, Will shared his story and how he got into making comics in the first place.
"I started drawing cartoons during a difficult time in my life, while I was processing grief after a loss. I am inspired by nature, stories, mythology, animals, and books. I like to add more silliness, wonder, whimsy, and absurdity into the world."

In the last interview, we asked Will if he had any major influences in life that helped him in his art career and inspired him to take this path.
"Growing up, I was very influenced by books like Martin Handford’s Where’s Waldo, and comics like Calvin and Hobbes and Little Nemo in Slumberland. Also the covers of the fantasy novels I read, like Brian Jacques’ Redwall series. I love the illustrations of James Gurney and Shaun Tan, and historical artists like M. C. Escher and Hieronymous Bosch have been influential as well. Most of these influences can be seen in my illustrations rather than my cartoons, though."

When it comes to the ideas for his comics Will has quite a few things to share, "In order to have output, I need input. I read a lot of fiction and I love learning about new things, so I end up on Wikipedia a lot. I love mythology, history, fables, art, and language. I love to learn, so my silly ideas are often the byproduct of my curiosity. More specifically, I drink coffee and doodle in a sketchbook."

Fun fact: first time I listened to Radioactive by Imagine Dragons, I heard: "I'm waking up, I'm feeling in my balls enough to make my systems grow." Considering I was not good at English back then, it might be the case.

Um, God told Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac, to prove Abrahams loyalty to God. Then at the last minute God tells Abraham not to do it, it was just a test that he obviously passed. Now I’m an atheist telling you guys this, have ya read the Bible. Also, as an atheist, this is a crappy thing for any self-respecting deity to pull. If I believed in God I don’t think I’d think to highly of him after this stunt!

It’s a joke about 1000 and 1 Arabian nights. Sheherezade married the king, but because his first wife cheated on him, he married and killed a new woman every day. Sheherezad told him a new story ending with a cliffhanger every night so the king would let her survive another night to finish the story. He stops caring about the story and falls legitimately in love with her by the end.

Gardetto's snack mix is the best, but did you know that you can buys bags of just the rye garlic chips, and bags of just the mustard pretzels? Mix those two with Cheez-Itz (extra toasty!) and you have the perfect snack. Mmmm
