I think their scanning sucks. They scanned the oceans and there is certainly intelligent life there, whale, shark, seal and octopus.

They must have performed a concentrated scan of the Oval Office during a meeting between the President and Vice President. Like two malfunctioning Roombas bumping into one another. Not a brain in the room.

In an interview with Bored Panda, Jarrod told us more about himself: “I majored in digital communication in university and self-taught graphic design to create Spaceytales. My academic path was always geared towards creative pursuits. From eagerly anticipating art classes and doodling during breaks in primary school to engaging in design and technology classes in secondary school, my passion for creativity has been a constant in my life.”

Wifi has been developed on top of so many existing technologies, some of which are used in other wireless technologies, that it is ridiculous to give preeminence to any one of them in the development of WIFI.

The artist also shared what drew him to the world of cartooning.

“I’ve been doodling since I was young, starting on walls, which led my mom to buy me a whiteboard to channel my creativity. My love for constructing stories and scenes extended to playing with Legos. During my national service in Singapore, my army unit imposed a stay-home restriction order due to the COVID-19 pandemic, giving me a lot of time at home. This period allowed me to explore various creative outlets, like cooking and baking, but I was drawn back to drawing and graphic design. I tried creating different themed art pages on Instagram, including a logo redesigning page and an inspirational movie poster page, but they didn’t gain much traction. Realizing there was a gap in entertaining and engaging space-related content, I started Spaceytales during this period, combining my passion for space with my skills in graphic design,” Jarrod shared.

Regarding the creative process, Jarrod shared his recipe for success: “Curiosity is where my creative process starts. I find inspiration in scientific facts, everyday occurrences, or questions posed by the Spaceytales community. These ideas are then brainstormed into engaging stories or humorous vignettes. The actual creation involves digital illustration, where the characters and their stories come to life, maintaining a balance between being light-hearted and informative, ensuring each piece offers a laugh and a learning moment.”

Well the Nitrogen to oxygen ratios have varied even in the period that there has been multicellular life on Earth between 35% and 15%. Life first evolved in an Earth with barely any oxygen at all in the atmosphere. So exactly 21% oxygen is not needed to sustain complex, multicellular life on Earth. The ratio of 21% Oxygen and 78% Nitrogen is very much NOT "just the right mixture". It is "one of the possible mixtures".

Jarrod also delved into what he wished for audiences to take away from his content.

“I hope my audience leaves with a smile and perhaps a bit more knowledge than they had before encountering my comics. Whether it’s a fun fact about the planets or a light-hearted look at complex scientific concepts, my goal is to make learning about space enjoyable and memorable. I want readers to feel more connected to the universe around them and empowered by the knowledge they gain,” wrote Jarrod.

And lastly, the artist added: “Aside from the comics, Spaceytales also offers a range of planet plushies and soon-to-be-launched merchandise, like keychains and shirts, designed to extend the learning experience beyond the screen. Each plushie comes with a tag that delves deeper about the planet, making them perfect companions for both educational and imaginative play.”

The lack of plate tectonics has a lot to do with keeping the planet's core liquid. The liquid core (specifically the iron and sulfur) create the magnetic field. Mars has no plate tectonics.

WIth 100 billion stars in our galaxy alone, even with one on ten million stars having a rocky planet in the goldilocks zone, there would be 10,000 potential places for life in our Galaxy. There are around 2,000,000,000,000 galaxies in the universe. With those sort of numbers "rare" is a meaningless term.

It's thought that there is a supermassive black hole at the centre of our galaxy, and therefore implies that this may be true for most or all other galaxies. One effect of this is the clustering of matter which is part of the formation of new stars.

I had a thought, gravitational forces in great amounts warps space/time what if the Hubble constant is due to this fact, because we have such a massive gravitational force at the center of our galaxy that we are under time dialation due to it but outside the galaxy the universe moves at the constant speed where we're slowed down.

I agree. Someone once said that the proof there's intelligent life is that none of it has come here.

Y'all doom and gloom. Maybe I'm being naive, but scenario 7 or what have you. Advanced species will only interfere IF we would otherwise fail to get through the filter. The want to let us try on our own.

Just like poor Venus. Mars lost its oceans just before life started evolving here. I think it was because the core of Mars got a bit too cold so the magnetic field became too weak so the solar wind stripped away the atmosphere and the oceans this way

After Shoemaker-Levy hit Jupiter I made a Jupiter costume from various cloth scraps. I then added a few faux bandages. It was a hit! One lady thought I was a wounded bumblebee till I showed her the Great Red Spot. I still have the costume - maybe I should donate it to a planetarium.

Nonsense. Launching a missile 80km up in the sky does nothing to further space exploration. In fact, I'd go as far as saying putting humans up in space is (currently) a waste of resources. If you're serious about exploration you send probes and robots, that can travel much farther than any human and at a fraction of the cost.

We as human beings can use robots and probes to further our understanding but to the same degree as someone with a disability of some sort. Someone who was deaf from birth doesn't make a good audio engineer. The human experience tells us so much more about the world then our current level of technology and i wonder how many mysterious would be solved so much faster with actual humans on world. Also shame on you, our planet is on borrowed time, when our sun goes off we spent all this time focused on earth it wouldn't matter unless we could move the planet some how but at some point the resources are finite without traveling the stars.

Honestly it's a good take on billionares in space. Sure they are doing it to turn a future profit but proving it can be done is what drives the human condition. Look at everything we were told no in the past and now look what we have achieved.

We have an abundance of intelligent species on Earth- and we have been consistently handicapped by expecting them to speak 'human" in some form, and pronouncing them 'non-intelligent' when they don't. Hm.

Any ET civilisation that would be aware of us would need to have understood the electro-magnetic spectrum, and mathematics, including binary and prime numbers. We'd have maths and science in common. Other Earth species don't need to have that knowledge to exist, which only requires living long enough to reproduce in sufficient quantity.

Ok, but. Full disclosure, please. Also by a rapidly increasing number of satellites for commercial communication- and secret military information satellites- which may already be weaponized, for destroying other satellites. I'm not opposed to "happy news" - but I am opposed to "carefully managed incomplete news."
