Looking at old photo albums makes me think that kids were way cooler back in the day. We built majestic snow castles in our backyards, climbed trees, wore fashionable sunglasses and had crazy haircuts. I think it's safe to say that most of us were about a hundred times cooler than we are now.

Between my freshman and sophomore year 77 - 78, I was learning on a friends skateboard, went down a large hill, went too fast and lost control. Ended up sliding on my chest on the tar and then off onto the gravel. I was a mess. Hours spent laying there having gravel picked out of me. I was a walking scab the whole summer.

I had one of those record players in the 60's. Played 45's if you put a little insert in them and 33's. Had a 78 speed that you could switch to and make a 33 sound like the chipmunks. I didn't have the cool headphones though.

There is a similar picture of me somewhere. I ride a tricycle or a bike with training wheels and I have a lollipop in my mouth so it looks like I am smoking a cigarette. My brother always shows it to other people and tell it is a picture of his 'juvenile criminal sister'. :D

hahahaha, you just reminded me of myself. Growing up I demanded taking pictures whenever I saw someone taking pictures, and we didn't own a camera we had to hire a photographer until my father bought a camera. He would take a picture of me every weekend, I was a daddy'd girl I had countless pictures. Now I am too shy to take a picture, it feels like torture when someone asks me to take a pic. My child pics in the 83's 90's were not better. But when I see their haircut, glasses, wallpaper, etc, I realise that it was general, that it was totaly "in" at that time...and that we're likely to face the same critics from our kids. Tie and dye are the next mullet !
