The street artist Dran, born in Toulouse in 1979, is frequently called The French Banksy. These two artists share a critical view of society, power figures and are not afraid to expose their beliefs publicly.

"My father wanted me to work with him in construction, but since my arms are too thin to hold a hammer, I dedicated myself to the drawing," said the artist.

Dran mainly creates paintings, drawings and graffiti art all over France. With his art, he addresses important current issues such as the powers of the authority, sexual harassment, internet addiction, exaggerated media and many more.

Is a bit ironic...we use paper (from downed trees) to pass out “save our forests” flyers!!!

I have thought this but I realised so many animals would be extinct if it wasn't for zoos. Sadly they are safer there than in the wild much of the time, even though they don't have life they should. We have to remember all the good conservation and educational work zoos have done too.

Forests and zoos are being polluted, thus zoos are saving a lot of animals from extinction. But again, zoos should make them feel safe and at home, not feel imprisoned, isolated and sad. I agree, they deserve to be out in the wild. But extinction and all that. If environmental pollution could be reduced, and if zoos could be more better for the animals, then the animals could be happier.

Maybe the Chimp is analyzing the human animal because it is in denial of it's circumstances. What is a cage? Something you cannot escape from(perimeters) etc. Earth is the Cage.

Maybe the Chimp considers the cage his home . Look at the pictures on his wall. He sees the human animals in the cage?

I see a kid who don't bother to pass a half of the banana to the monkey as what typically done from the visitors of the zoo. Is he is trying to tease him intentionally? The monkey is triple oppressed, don't you agree? He is in a very small prison that don't fit his natural capacity. The tree is cut, the ultimate entertainment for him. His drawings are expressing family! And he is alone!?. I think he was born in this prison, and his parents are no longer with him somehow, maybe died. Becasue his drawings illustrate the prison bars before him! strange. Its like he never looked at his place from outside. It would be very selfish of you if you argued that this is for the environment and to avoid extinction of theses species. Well if its for his own good, why he look so depressed? He supposed to be happy. Open the door and see if he would stay or just get the hell our of there.

From the same "artist" whining about trees in the first entry. There's your irony.

The cage doesn't seem enough to protect clever painter Mr. Chimp; judging from the many cigarette butts on the floor, it's safe to put a smoke free perimeter so he can be secured from lung cancer.

I met a monkey in a zoo once in this exact situation. We had a silent conversation about how much I thought it sucked that he had to be in there, and he agreed with me wholeheartedly. I think about him from time to time, and I hope they stop this horrible practice.

OMG! #TRUTH We have ABSOLUTELY no need for zoos anymore!! The ONLY reason for keeping ANY wild animals in some kind of VERY LARGE captive situation is if their numbers have SO dwindled their breeding could be assisted and the animals bred, then set free!!

I'd rather have more public sanctuaries, or zoos only for injured animals that can't live in the world.

Well... that sounds counter-productive for a few reasons. Put the current animals into care facilities (many cannot survive in the wild after being dependent on humans) and imprison people who take animals from the wild, that's what I think.

I had a teacher who would shout at me "WALK WITH YOUR BACK STRAIGHT" every time I arrived at school, in front of everyone. I was a shy, skinny kid and we were forced to carry a bag full of books from and back to school almost everyday because every teacher had homework for us. One day I became so enraged, I screamed back at him: "DO YOU WANT TO HOLD MY BAG, SEE HOW MUCH IT WEIGHTS? MAYBE YOU CAN CARRY IT FOR ME!" Not only did I not get scolded, he did not bother me anymore. We had so much homework and zero free time after class, and all the weight they put on our backs… It's not healthy for the kids. This illustration is so accurate, sure brought back memories :)

Not trying to be controversial but sometimes we need those little outs to be able to survive. Yes, it's important to know the state of our world, but you also need the little things to make you happy. If we constantly focus on the negative and the horrible things, depression will start kicking in. It's the sanity in the insane.

I don't think the point of this illustration is that he's "wasting" his job time on art, or that art is not needed..... but that there are so many talented people who cannot pay for proper education that can boost their talent, and their needs are so many that they have to just put their talent aside and "get a job to pay the rent".

I think its about how we all have a happy face in the public, just like Tthe Clown's mask, and it all is just substained in things bought with money - e.g. the cocaine
