Taste is subjective, and if you still doubt it, just talk to people about whether or not pineapple belongs on pizza. Straight off the bat, you will hear contradictory answers and see just how eager folks are to defend them.

A few weeks ago, Reddit user 1060west-addison made a post on the platform, saying "What is the most controversial food opinion you have?" And it instantly blew up.

As of today, the post has over 20,000 comments, many of which have ignited heated discussions. From cupcakes to beets, continue scrolling to see what things are tearing everyone apart.

30 Of The Hottest Food Takes That Are Tearing People Apart Only vaguely a food opinion, but, there’s no such thing as a “special occasion” food. Like, cakes are often associated with parties. But I’m a grown man and if I want cake because it’s Wednesday I’m gonna go get myself a Wednesday cake.

If something requires long preparation (several hours or longer), it is a special occasion food ;)

Instead of splitting the difference, can we all agree that banana on pizza is a no-no? With the exception for scaling purpose only.

Depends on the tomato sauce (not too much of it and a bit spicy is my preference) and what else is on the pizza.

Aww FUCKKK no. I’m ITALIAN. Italians CREATED pizza and most of us find this disgusting and a complete disgrace to our culture. Actually, at most of the restaurants in my town that aren’t tourist traps, if you ask for this you WILL be stared at in disgust. Some Italians find this an insult and will forever hate you if you like this. I can’t speak for ALL Italians, of course, but it’s still pretty gross for most of us.

Down in Italy, "The home of Pizza", you can order a pizza with the ordinary (ham, cheese and tomato sauce) plus strawberries and kiwi. And don't even get me started on the ones I've seen in USA - I've seen people order pizza with a whole hamburger meal on it, heck even hot dogs. AND PEOPLE ARE READY TO COMPLAIN ABOUT PIINEAPPLES???

Tomatoes are fruits. Pineapples are fruits. It depends on what the rest of the pizza is set up as. I like Thai Chicken pizza, with satay sauce. I like Grilled Shrimp pizza with BBQ sauce. I've had breakfast pizza with poached eggs, chilaquiles, pulled pork, and pico de gallo.

We have a habit of making what we call here a croque monsieur which is a slice of bread covered with ham, pineapple slice and cheese on top. (variations are allowed: mushrooms, pickled onions, tomatoes, etc. But always ham and cheese.) Tell me how that is different?

I once saw a chef grill the pineapple a little before adding it to the top of the pizza, until it gets golden, and it's just delicious. If you like pineapple in your pizza, try it.

From the King Terry Pratchett, " There is such a thing as an edible, nay delicious, meat pie floater, its mushy peas of just the right consistency, its tomato sauce piquant in its cheekiness, its pie filling tending even towards named parts of the animal. There are platonic burgers made of beef instead of cow lips and hooves. There are fish ‘n’ chips where the fish is more than just a white goo lurking at the bottom of a batter casing and you can’t use the chips to shave with. There are hot dog fillings which have more in common with meat than mere pinkness, whose lucky consumers don’t apply mustard because that would spoil the taste. It’s just that people can be trained to prefer the other sort, and seek it out. It’s as if Machiavelli had written a cookery book. Even so, there is no excuse for putting pineapple on pizza.

Sometimes you have to modify them to suit the tastebuds of the people you’re serving them to. I don’t just mean people who weren’t raised on them, there are also people whose gastrointestinal system is somewhat delicate, and can’t take hot, spicy foods. Or wheat. Or dairy. Or…you get the picture.

Canned fish is awesome! Not just sardines and anchovies but you can get all kinds of fish in cans, even stuff like clams and even squid! And if you prefer food without too many additives or processing, look at the back of the can, it typically says something like "ingredients: fish, salt, some sort of oil (veg or sunflower or something) and with some, the processing is so minimal the fish is just cooked in the can after sealing during the pasturization process.

Try kipper snacks, they kinda have a smokey bacon taste. Fantastic treat/snack
