I'm 32" long from the tip of my nose to the end of my tail. My skin & fur coat are black & white. I have huge yellow eyes with long thick lashes. My nose & tongue are blood red. I'm extremely vocal & a primal hunter. I love raw, bloody meat & sour cream...& the loving, warm lap of MY human.

Hey, Jenna. Whenever it would thunder/lightning I would take my Shetlands, Trooper & Mary Kate, (named for John Wayne's & Maureen O'Hara's characters in "The Quiet Man") to my empty "lit" basement & play "throw & catch" until the storm passed. (We adopted them as soon as they were weaned-I started training them immediately.) So, whenever a storm was starting, they would both come to me for play time. (We lived in NW GA USA, fireworks were rare.) My father & stepmother were visiting 1 time-I had to work-& a storm came. They called me asking why Trooper & Mary Kate were crazy barking! I realized the problem. Dad & Dee had the best time playing with them until the storm passed! That's 1 way to help with "storm anxiety." Start anytime! The 1 time they were fearfully quiet was '95 when Hurricane Opal made landfall going over as we sheltered in the garage. Lovely memories! Both have crossed the Rainbow Bridge.

Obviously, I'm not & I don't hesitate to let them know when they start their "witnessing". They don't like it, & have a way of saying, "Have A Nice Day!" which translates to "Kiss My A-S-S!" In the USA, voting is a DUTY. Just like being a juror in a trial. Here in Georgia US, the quality of education is still poor. And most rural areas have even worse quality of education. My oldest sister married into a very rural mountain clan. They thought the same thing about voting (cancelling each other out if voting for the opposite of their relative). I love them, they're good people at heart. It's just that their lack of knowledge is a result of the quality of education they received at the hands of Georgia's Board of Education. I think my sister & I, having received far better quality of education in Virginia & Iowa, have been a positive influence in the many years we've been a part of their lives, mutually sharing experiences & gaining knowledge & skills: sewing, farming, water management, accounting/budgeting, animal husbandry, etc. I hope so, anyway. What they lack in "formal" education they make up for in their survival skills as they are !*amazing*! people! It's a win-win!

I believe that the USA's involvement in Vietnam was NEVER declared a war, unfortunately, but only a "conflict"! Can anyone verify or deny with proof? I'd like to know because I lost my first fiance' in Vietnam ... and I too thought it was a "war". RIP Donald Hughes
